Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

I'm doing well, Bard! Slowly building an inventory of amendments for my homemade organic soil. Today I got in a bag of Kelp meal which is a good all purpose additive. My first totally organic plant is at flip + 47 days today and other then some yellowing leaves she's looking fantastic. It's an 8 week flowering plant so I'm confident she'll make it another 12 days. Now, right next to that plant I have a Black Cherry Punch plant growing and it's currently at flip + 31 days. I'm not too pleased with her overall color. The lower part of the plant looks just fine. About half way up the leaves range from lighter green to greenish yellow with some all yellow. I scratched in a top dressing of rabbit poop, earthworm castings, and a 1/4tsp of Epsom salts and watered it in. I'm learning as I go but so far am enjoying growing organically.

How about you? How is your day going?

I am doing great too! Happy with my four little seedlings. My outdoor girls are doing great - they have stretched and stretched, and are putting out tons of pistils. Weather has been great for them, although the humidity is a bit high, especially as temps dip at night.

Two of the three girls that I harvested several weeks ago have hit the mid-60s RH, so they are now jarred up to cure. Waiting for the last one (72% right now) to drop a bit more, and then I can do the final weigh-in from my very first grow.

Mrs. Bard and the K9s are all well. Happy plants, happy spouse, happy dogs makes for happy me. :)

Fun to hear about your foray into organic soil. Hope you crack the code on the problem with the Black Cherry Punch. Is that an In-House strain or an Exotic Genetix one, or a different breeder again?

The BCP I'm growing is a product of IHG.

Hi Bean, I'm still trying to figure out how to be on the notification list with this thread. I'm not too tech savvy with these cellphones.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll be watching and participating as much as I can.
There should be a watch button at the top of the page

I'm pretty sure, (but not positive) that when you post something in a thread you are then "watching" that thread. Problem is getting notifications from 420 is hit and miss it seems.

My Purple Animal Cookies from IHG is just starting to put out it's second set of permanent leaves. I only had one seed and it's a regular which is why I'm planning to run a couple strains known to be girls along with the Reg plant. In case it's a boy I don't want to waste the Purple Animal Cookies genetics with nothing to pollinate.

I think that is right. I get one notification when something new is added, but only one, until I go back and "like" or comment on the thread. But it always appears in my "watched threads" list. At least, I think that is the pattern I have seen.

Yes! I buried the seeds a bit deeper, and tamped down the coco a bit more than usual. Not sure if that had any effect, but happy she came up helmet-less. Agreed...grow....grow...grow!

I just planted a Dark Devil Auto as part of my perpetual garden ... and after 24 hours of soaking ... it wouldn't crack. So I tried to squeeze it with my fingers ... it wouldn't crack. So I squeezed it with my fingernails ... it wouldn't crack.

So I smacked it with a spoon ... it cracked ... lol

I just hope I didn't kill it :)

I've never run into that before!!!

Hi y'all! Im a new grower (7 months at my 420 thread- "Warezaholics Skid Row Closet Grow") and now new to this thread. I am starting 2 Chemdog #4 beans from Canada, now in the first 24 of germination.

I almost got those ... but went with HSO Chemdawg from a local seller nearby ... it's coming along slowly ..

Thanks @beez0404. I think it might have been @ChefDGreen that suggested a once a week photo blitz. I am totally open to the idea, but I do think a lot of folks are on their own schedules, including me depending on the week. But what if we made "Sunday is pic day" and anyone who can/wants to drop photos on that day is welcome to? Of course, photos are still welcome on other days. Would that work for folks who want to coordinate a weekly update?

Awesome! Sunday ... right after Chemdog and I get back from church.

Holy water works miracles ... nothing like keeping the plant praying for light :)

I believe that some folks shake the seed in a can or small box lined with sand paper to scuff it up a bit - allows moisture in easier. "Scarifying" or something similar. I've also heard about nicking off a very small bit of the tip with nail clippers. I haven't personally ever done either though. Damp paper towel has worked pretty well for me. Hope your "hammered seed" does well. :)

Hell yeah!!!

Pop that puppy!!!

It's gonna be great with you here @Scottsquatch ... whose the breeder?
The breeder is none other than one of our new sponsors.... Dr Seeds! I am a bit embarrassed to say that I saw the 3 for 2 coupon code and had to scoop up a few more strains I still wanted. Now, other than a few landrace hybrids from Ace, I pretty much have all the strains I wanted. Waaaaaay to many! LOL I'm kind of a seed addict.

Nice! My Northern Lights is from Dr. Seeds, as are my four outdoor girls (C99 and Critical Mass). I've been really happy with their genetics so far. Final verdict will come in the harvest. Nice that you will be joining us on this adventure.
