Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

So today a 2nd attempt will be made to harvest the top 2/3 of Chem 1. She's been a real pleasure to grow, with arms of dense cola's. Just gorgeous. 9.5 wks.

Gorgeous looking plants, MJ!!

I took a peek at my Chem 91 X ADC clone today. Up until yesterday she had few roots and they were all on just one side of the solo cup. That all changed in a hurry!! Check these out......these were NOT there yesterday. This is the back side of the solo cup. I'm always amazed at how quickly this plant can put out roots. Another 7-10 days of that and I'll be up-potting her.

Nice... cool pic as well!

Hi y'all! Im a new grower (7 months at my 420 thread- "Warezaholics Skid Row Closet Grow") and now new to this thread. I am starting 2 Chemdog #4 beans from Canada, now in the first 24 of germination.

Welcome Warez! Awesome that you will be joining us. I have some Dr. Seeds material as well. Their "fast" genetics are in my outdoor grow this summer, and their NL is part of my next indoor grow. So far I have been happy with their seeds. Hope you are too.

@beez0404 nice root system. I use clear cups also. I took a few picture, 5 days.

That picture is dark, I'm going to have to retake. Have a good evening.

It is a bit dark, but from what I can tell, all looks good!

You’re going to love the Dinachem, I grew one that won Plant of the Month.

Thanks Penny. Both of the Chem gals are in this grow in large part because you and few others had such good things to say about them. Excited to see how they do!

Pleased that three out of the four plants are off to a good start. The Chem 91 is definitely the strongest out of the gates - huge tap root put out within 18-24 hours, and first above ground.

The Doctor is doing ok, just not as stellar as the other three. But it too is spouting, and left it helmet in the coco. Happy with the way they all germinated without helmet-head.

I'm going to try read back from a month or so and get a feel for this Chemdawg and I hope to find another growing it in Bubbleponics. I'm germinating two Chemdawg seeds now. I'll need to emulate any growing and training methods that fits my 2X4ft grow room.

This stash is a breed of photoperiod CBD and now I have room for this/these Chems. A couple good autoflowering are keeping me humping until the space needed.

Nice! Will be fun to see what you are up to.

Welcome @warezaholic ! Will be fun to see how the Dr. Seeds compares to the CSI Humboldt.

@The Bard nice!! They’re gonna be huge before you know it!

@beez0404 wow it’s insane how quickly it went from one root to rooted. Literally overnight right?

@Bean 7175 i know it’s a dark shot but I make out a couple pairs of leaves!! they made it, :woohoo::party:

Here’s another update from my garden for everyone. Today is day 8/20 that marks 61 days above soil. I’m very pleased with how things are going, everyone is very healthy and I’m looking like I’m gonna have my best harvest to date if all goes as planned. I’ve decided that I’m not necessarily locked into September 15th as my flip date, and will flip when I’m happy with the size of the Star Pupil. If I were only growing the Cookies n Chem, I probably would’ve flipped last week.

Lets start with CnC #1

I read a lot that people remove the first two nodes from their plants when they’re doing specific training techniques, and they always say those two nodes don’t amount to much anyway. That last picture are nodes 1 and 2, nearly as thick as the main stem! I’m very pleased with this girl and have a cutting already nicely rooted and growing. If her smoke is great I’ll keep her as a mom for sure. It might be hard to tell with the pictures I took, but her fans have long slender fingers. The only one of the three like that. She can also take much more light intensity. I’m thinking she’s a chem leaning pheno. I’m expecting a minimum of 4 oz off this plant, hoping for more like 6 oz.

Alright, CnC girl #2

This girl didn’t get lst’d like the other, she grew to 9 nodes and got topped. I’ve been pulling down her lower nodes to try and keep them even with the top. If you can tell, her fan leaf fingers are a bit wider and they come mostly in fives and sevens. Girl 1 has mostly 9s and 11s. I’m thinking she’s more of a Cookies phenos cause her fans taco more so than girl 1 she doesn’t like too much light. I’m hoping for about a quarter lb off this girl.

And here’s CnC girl 3

She’s got decent tops but no secondary growth. I think she’s more cookies leaning too but just a weaker morphology than girl 2. I’ll be happy with a couple zips off of her.

And here’s the tent in its entirety.

Everything’s coming along great. Thanks for taking the time to check me out group.

Chef D you've got it going on with those Cookies N Chem plants. I especially love that photo showing the base of the plant and how big the side branches are. That's a healthy looking plant right there. Should be a great producer. It's great to get to see other grows as they progress. Someone a while back had suggested having a photo day where everyone posted photos of their plants on the same day. I understand it would be tough to pull off with differences in schedules and personal lives etc. But maybe if we all took out photos on say Wednesday through Saturday and then posted them on Saturday and/or Sunday? This is @The Bard thread so we can leave it up to him. Maybe poll everyone to see which day of the week would be the best for them to post pics and go from there?

Thanks a lot Beez! Yeah the tops kinda look scraggly cause I do a good bit of defoliation, but you can tell by that base that she’s a healthy girl. I’m hoping the secondary canopy will reach the main canopy and I’ll have double the tops. I’m a little concerned though, as I’m going to be switching from BPN to dynagro nutes in the next week or so... I hope they take to it. In fact girl 1 and 2 just got their first dose of protekt

It was recommended to me when I switched nutes in the middle of a grow to mix it up at 1/2 strength and see how the plants react. You can always bump it up a little at a time if needed.

I’m honestly worried about the exact opposite. These girls have been asking for pretty heavy feedings.. girl 1 has been taking 1200-1300ppm for about 3 weeks now and girl two I fed her at 800 ppm and immediately got yellowing in the bottom fans so the next feed I bumped it up to 1000 and she seemed to like that. The dyna-gro chart for foliage-pro is only 1tsp/gal.. I can’t imagine that being much more than 500-600ppm. Add a 1/4tsp of protekt and that’s still probably going to only been around 700-800ppm.

But I will , of course, start slow with it and see how they take it.

Well then mix up a batch at the strength called for by the manufacturer and see what your ppm's come out at. I don't think I would exceed 1,100 ppm the first feeding if you feel your plants are asking for it.

I’ll probably just go with recommended strength and adjust from there. If I can feed them recommended strength and have them grow healthy and big, I’ll save a truckload of money on nutes.
