WheelO's - 360#2 - Auto Collection galore

CMX
1 lb. yeah, seeds for decade. thats a pain.
when you only have an oz. its not bad.

pan, i can never get a joint to burn even, or pull nice.
i should be cuban though cause i can roll a killer cigar (blunt)

im gonna update now.

ok, I finally got down to cleaning my volks. it was relatively painless. took a couple hours to drain the res, clean the wheel, drain the res again, then refill it and put the little guys in.

i set my ballast to 300w to start them out. I added CNS17 grow to 500 ppm. i am feeding them twice a day for 15 minutes for now. the light is off the timer and i'm just gonna run it 24/7 for the first week.

i should have rotated these pics before i posted them, they are sitting at the bottom, and i dont have them rotating yet. i think ill let them get used to the light first.

well, this turn is gonna contain lots of seeeeeeeds.

I will be STS'ing one of these girls next weekend. I think i'll do a separate how to journal for that.

Anyways I dont know what it will do to an autoflower, honestly. It usually pushes back development of the plant 2 weeks. I hope my other seeds get here this week so that I can coordinate the timing of the male pollen right to cross. I can plant LR#2's when i finish cleaning up the tent and make room on the opposite side for a table to put under the 250w MH i have hanging on that side. I might start them tonight.

running all auto's, and using my label system, I can pretty much run plants at any increment and timing schedule I want. so Im just gonna start seeds while i get them and date them and harvest when ready. we'll see how this works out (eventually i want to be running 3 cycles in the wheel at the same time.

I wish I had another wheel to keep running regular genetics. . . I'm working on it, maybe. We'll see if i can afford it. If I do, of course I'll run another journal concurrently.
I'm not holding my breath at this point though, so you shouldn't either. lol.

also, if i had a second wheel, i would run a journal with monoculture, running off the same res, one using 600w and the other using 1000w to do a direct comparison to put to rest what the right amount of light to run in one of these machines for best g/w efficiency. but first i need to find genes worthy of monoculture and get my skillz on this system dialed in.

Nice. That's being practical. Work with what you got, until you can get what you want. I started with a bag of soil and 6 seeds, now I have too much to list, and hundreds of seeds, all within a year and a half. Git'er done!

B.T.W. I've been running my nutes full time (feeding 24/7) since I'm using a lot of organics and beneficials. I don't like still water, bad things breed there. Also I believe it supplies the plants witha constant supply of whatever they may need, leaving little room for deficiencies. The drawback? Drips. Keep up the good work! :peace:

more drawbacks than that i think cmx,

rockwool wicks water from the bottom to the top. . . i don't have any proof, but i think that if you keep the rockwool completely saturated it wont allow fesh water to wick up. this means the water will get stale and lack oxygen. I'm not sure about this, it is just how i reasoned it out in my head.

I am going to water even less than last turn (once a day instead of twice). i hope this will get more oxygen to the roots. A 3" RW cube in 60% humidity will take 3-4 days to dry out completely.

nah, i think once they reach saturation, it won't wick more water up when they dip.

I dont think that the free water in the cube moves enough to siphon air into the cube.

i don't know, im def not an expert on RW. last turn was my first time using that medium start to finish. i've always cloned with them to great success.

keep doing it if its working, good info to know if it works well.

its prob why you lose so much volume in your res every day.
whats your humidity like? you lucky to have such an open grow space.

update:

slowly but surely my other equipment is catching up to my volks so that i'm no longer the guy driving a beamer but can't afford the gas to go anywhere. lol.

today i got my first nice set of res meters. this is going to be a critical upgrade.

i ordered the nutridip trimeter online for $190 shipped.

This is a big upgrade to my $30 hanna crappy ph meter and the 20 tds meter.
