yes, good idea. check out my third or fourth journal in my signature.
I started using painters tape becaused it blocks light, comes off easy when i want it to but not when I dont. you know the blue stuff. The best thing about it was to cover the RW and prevent algae.
it didn't completely stop dripping, but the once a day schedule should do it for you. . . when they are very small, first week or two you could flood manually when it needed it every few days, but don't forget. once a day is really a bit too often IMO, but it's the easiest to do on a timer. daisy chaining two timers would be a nice easy fix, just don't let them get too out of wack. best thing is to pay attention to the cubes, but once a day is fine the whole way, and probably easiest to maintain.
