What's In Jim's Grow Room?

:passitleft:

Blue Dream in my pipe :bongrip: this morning and I'm just cruising.

I've had a down and an up this morning too. I checked the Pakistan Valley cut on the right side of my tent this morning and was disappointed as I saw no roots. 10 days and no roots but the cut's leaves were pristine. I stared into the tent contemplating what the other tasks of the day might be. I started some water bubbling. I sat and wondered about the other cut from the left side of the tent. Much to my surprise when I opened the plastic vegetable bag I saw the roots begging for some soil and a good watering.

Girls that were provided Big Pots last week

They'll get fed some goodies later today in the bubbled water. Two days ago I spread ground mosquito dunks on all the soil pots. I saw one fungus gnat last week so life cycle will be interrupted by killing any larvae with Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis which is the active ingredient.

Whew! Science! So if you see a lighter substance on the soil until it gets scraped and watered in, that's what it is.

FWIW there's nothing wrong with a few fungus gnats. They're more of a nuisance than a pest but I'd rather not see them.

Now that I have one clone and feel good about the other cut, I can trim on this one today. I'm going to take all fans below any new branches and remove all the undercarriage. I may also terminate those two leaders that are slightly higher. Yep. That's the plan.

Blue Dream Hempies.

All of the hempy pots were re-done yesterday. I dumped all the Miracle Gro perlite into the little garden out back and each pot got new perlite with exactly 6 grams of Osmocote Plus per pot. The seed grown BD in the larger pot still had very little root system extended beyond the rock wool cube.

Everything is looking awesome Jim. Great job.

Cheers.

Thanks Ditchweed! I got quite a mix of things going on here. I'm ready to get excited about these hempies.

The clones had some nice roots but I was losing interest in the solo cups. Just not a fan of trying to keep those from tipping over. I'm going with a supplemental feed mix for the next two weeks with some calcitric lime added for calcium. Probably going to be doing a lot of guessing there.

The last of the Pakistan Valley cuts had roots this morning so she got potted up with a good dose of mycorrhizal fungi to get her off to a great start. I always wanted to remove the bottom fans to see if a plant would redirect energy to those 2 lower branches. Just before potting her I did just that. In theory these branches should develop quicker. We'll soon see.

Team looks good and the big girls are in a sweet mid veg zone. I'm resisting topping the Blue Dream grown from the S1 seeds I created. Branching is excellent on this lady and stems are thicker than the parent. My mind wonders about how all these genetics work.

Rocks were used to stabilize the rooting plug in this pint bowl. Plug was dry and I should have checked yesterday but I was out of town visiting some old friends.

Jack Herer This one has some of the butt ugliest leaves of anything I've ever grown. Leaves are slightly variegated with uneven margins. Makes me wonder again about genetics. What did the breeder use to produce this?

That Pakistan is a nice looking plant (as are the rest) beautiful colour..

Thanks Grizz. I'm finding that the landrace indica grows so much like all the hybrids I've grown. I still want to cut those two tallest leaders and since it'll be a couple weeks before a flip it should really fill out well without any training. I'm not big on training any more. You just pull and push and when they get free they grow their way any how.

She is fresh and green with a little sheen on the leaves without any foliars.

Hope you're making progress on the repairs..

The Pakistan Valley is quite nice Jim. She'll be amazing before she is done.

Cheers.

That Pakistan valley is an awesome looking plant. I've grown her out last year and loved her Indica stone. Very different than these sativas I've been smoking lately

Thanks guys. That information is good to know Jgrowlove....I'm looking forward to the end product because that's the meat in this sandwich. :thanks:

Update on all the girls that will be flowered this run. All the rest will just be clone mothers in the smaller tent. I'm still trying to figure out watering/feeding these 7 1/2 gallon softies. I spread 2 gallons of their second feeding this morning and had no runoff. The soil at the edge of the pots are still not moist. I used bubbled water this morning and will probably add straight water later until I'm satisfied.

Last night I decided to take the top from Jack Herer (day 24). Within a couple of weeks she'll get a bigger pot if I can find enough soil. I have a tub of recycled soil in storage which just needs to be amended. My camera will either focus on the larger leaves or the smaller leaves. Sorry about the photo quality.

Also, for any newbies looking on, this is not how a Jack Herer looks. The breeder fouled this deal and I'm growing it out to see what the buds provide.

Might be fire but with variegated leaves slightly less photosynthesis occurs because those light areas lack the chlorophyll of a fully green leaf.

The Blue Dream (day 18) will get topped in a few days. I will grow her out in her current home as she will be my comparison to the Blue Dream hempy which was born on the same day.

Pakistan Valley (day 55) is just a striking beauty and seems to get a lot of love from you guys. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Blue Dream (day 46) is looking good too. She has her faults but they get outweighed by that strong stem and healthy branches. She'll be grown out tree style. She has a nice branch network which would be enhanced by a topping but I'm just going to resist.

That's all I got folks. Have a great day and know that I appreciate your visits. I'm going to take a spin out by the river as my little car will be in the body shop all next week getting a new top. Have a great day!

I really like the look of the leaves on the PV. the Clones look sweet.

Rock On!!!:tommy:

I forgot to mention this morning that I had taken the terminal bud from those two leaders on Pakistan Valley. It's a little late for such nonsense but I just did it. I'm sure I was stoned.
