High Rooster 1. Yes...been resting.

The buds were jarred earlier this week and I harvested a small container full of S1 seeds. I smashed all the seeded buds by hand and later ground all that up for testing. Without the cure, it's a little harsh for early mornings but brought me back to my earlier days when you almost always smoked seeded weed.

So get this....the smell and taste of a burning immature seed is to die for if one wants to revisit the 1960s or 70s. No joke....it's a little like a burning tire but that's been missing in sensimilia bud. Not that I want that smell or taste in all my product but it really was a throw back to a different time.

So here's what I know about seeded weed. One can get very high from it. I smoked 3/4 of a joint of this BD yesterday topped by a little WW and I passed into a dreamy state for several hours.

I'm still trying to get a couple seeds to germ but I decided yesterday that I'd take the top out of Pakistan Valley to see if those lower branches will break out. The cut I made had one very short node on it and I'm attempting to clone the top. I really think this might work and I'd really like to grow out 2 this run. We'll see.

The BD S1 seeding is doing ok after its transplant and if I don't dip too deeply into the weed jar today I might put it on a proper watering schedule and make some notes in my written journal. Blue Dream really has become one of my special friends and I'll probably make my infused oil with the recent harvest. I got 4 quarts from the harvest.

thanks for the update Jim. Your garden's looking fine. Insane node distance on the PV! I know what you mean by old-time weed. Yeah, it does the job but I sure hate that estrogen taste of a burning seed.

As for my mother; I told you I got some nice dark seeds from up top but I am still going to wait at least another 10 days as she's a small plant and most of the mid/lower seeds are not quite there yet.
The other females I thought I seeded: I had a cheeky taste of one of the small lower buds of one of them on day 6 of dry and not only did she taste v nice pre-cure, the small bud got me highhhhh - and no seeds found. Was very happy. Let's see what happens with the top flowers which looked a bit "pregnant". Should be able to report in around 4-5 days.

Whew! I started a batch of infused oil 2 days ago and finally got around to testing it this morning. It was made from the intentionally seeded BD that I harvested recently. It's different. 1 cap has lasted about 5 1/2 hours and is fairly potent. It wasn't over the top and happy about that. What was that Pink Floyd song.....Comfortably Numb.

Yep, part of my little trip was mild head band with a slightly elevated heart rate. I really like that part. But....on to the current grow.

One day last week I topped the PV and I'm pleased to report that I did not miss. She's now a little beauty and I'll also pinch off the terminal nodes of the branches when they've grown out a bit.

BD seedling suffered some a little transplant shock but I'm certain the roots are now digging in and gripping that highly mineralized soil.

BD Mom started her life in my kitchen window and was moved under the LEDs a few weeks ago. She's expressing some crinkled leaf and slightly unusual growth but have no fear....she'll be a good as her mom.

Infused Olive Oil made from seeded Blue Dream buds

I made some oil a few days ago so I figured I'd show it here. From the last harvest I had 2 quarts of intentionally seeded buds. To gather the seeds I just mashed all the buds with my gloved hands into a 13" x 9" baking pan and then rolled the seeds down with a playing card. Then I took the remainder (65 grams) and decarbed this in my oven at 250^o F for 30 minutes. Then I added 1 tablespoon liquid lecithin to 325 ml of organic virgin olive oil to the herb in a quart jar and cooked this in my crock pot for 4 hours on the high setting. The mixture was stirred well before, during and after the crock pot processing.

The following morning I attempted to strain the oil through cheese cloth. After 3 hours or so I interrupted this process to inspect the oil. It was nice color which is slightly darker than the olive oil. So I had a small puddle under the quart jar this morning as oil wicked through and gravity happened. I expected to make as much of a mess as I would making pastries.

Anyway, there is about a third pint of oil and I already made me 25 caps.

Dosing: Tough on an old man. I did 1 cap yesterday morning and was really high at 30 minutes. Head band type high. One hour in I could feel higher heart rate. I don't have to actually measure this to know rate was up. Pulsing sensation about the eyes and temple. Nothing wrong with this sensation.

Eyes got dry so that's just like smoking. I've always thought that this was some allergy manifested in dry eyes. Anyone know?

Total high time was 6 & 1/2 hours and a dose will let one down easy.

Today I dosed at 5 am and at noon. I'm in a good zone but noticed some tinnitus (above normal or different frequency). I still get the munchies. I usually satisfy the munchies.

That's all I got. I'm pretty high here on my oil.

I learned last night that the capsules can be frozen and cut down for smaller doses. For some reason that never occurred to me. Lol!

Well....after 2 days of mostly using oil I returned to smoking my herb this morning. I agree with the half dose. I'm currently using 00 capsules which hold .90 ml of oil according to the chart I checked, a half dose would be a size 1 cap. Got it. That holds .48 ml.

I agree also that it was fun and these would make excellent "travelers" as they have low or no odor and doesn't require any coughing.

Now I should also explain that I always go back to smoking my herb. It allows me a little control although the oil never really took me over the edge. I predict that 2 of my current caps would do that nicely. Hmmm

There is one experiment that I need to run here. Many times I smoke from early morning until well into the day. Those last sessions never have the affect that I desire. Maybe a late day capsule will do the trick.

On to the grow.

I need the Team to grow a little. I don't plan to grow any Blue Dreams other that the S1 seedling. I dropped a couple more seeds last night and put them in moist paper towel this morning. I'm so hoping these will pop. They did end up in the bottom of the water which is a good sign.

I've need to go back and look at the original parental seedling. This just appears to be more Blueberry or indica dominant than the parents. Wouldn't that be nice? Well, not really sure here. Blue Dream has a great balance and I hope my S1 seeds retain that balance.

High Rooster1.....That oil isn't quite as crude as it looks. I like the effect of oil too. For me though, it's just another way to get high. I have some rosin here that I haven't touched in weeks. I guess I just like smoking my weed.

Speaking of weed. Things are just cracking along here with the two veg girls. They got a light feeding 2 days ago which wasn't really needed but I'm attempting to change my thinking about feeding. One of these days I'll brew more tea for them.

My last bean order stopped in NY so I had to go back with White Widow 2, Pineapple Express 1, LSD 1, and Ultra Dog gifted from NOLA. They are up and running but don't look no where as healthy as yours. And I'm back in Red Stick for another two to six weeks. I'll go home and up pot them when ready and hope to get them in veg asap. I joined the " empty jar club" again , so time a wasting.

If you go with capsules at half your original dose you may find that a regular schedule of say 3-4 a day makes a sweet baseline buzz. I personally like my baseline to be higher than that, but you know how much I love my stratospheric adventures.

Glad to see you mate. So far so good. I think these S1 seeds somehow captured more of the Blueberry side of this equation but I'm just guessing as I know nothing about that strain. It just appears to me that leaf color has more blue in it.

I need to figure out how to get Ultra Dog to make a North Carolina appearance. I had an opportunity back in the 90s to do some studies at the School of Banking of the South. I chose to go to UVA.

I'm still using the Mars Hydro Mars II 900. I run only the Grow spectrum with all the reds and blues. It's great at vegging.

You operate on the edge of full bore don't ya? Being retired allows for such things. But occasionally I have to drive so my base needs to be slightly lower me thinks. But I do love the convenience of the oil. I'm going to make me some more frozen dry sift kief today. Shake, shake shake.
