Welcome To My New Journal - OMMSOG

Bad? no need to feel bad fella. I just re-read the water bill-- looks like they charge only a few bucks for 1000 gallons-- is there an analysis of the water on it? They don't use chloramine do they? Could explain a lot. From what I read on the BOWS site, they said minimal chlorine treatment...

p.s. Nice recovery on the WR. Whew!

im surprised theres any chlorine at all in it
yea 1000 gallons is cheap but you see what they charge for sewage?
they usually send out a report of whats in the water every once in awhile

hmm pipe it into the tent
nice idea
but dont you want it a little on the warm side and not so humid when its flowering? to help the resin production?
just a question want to confirm the stuff i read out of books or netbooks or kindle books blah people dont use real books anymore
as far as humid i think ac help dry out humidity but doesnt help the warmth part...

Hey Cronic I just went into the "How to grow section", just to be sure. An ideal set up should keep your tent/room between 70 to 79 degrees. Right now I run between 78 to 84-85.
So an a/c would help. At night down to 65 degrees would be great. :thumb:

it depends what island your on
the newer islands dont have that great a water only the 2 oldest islands have good water from tap.
some places in maui when it rains hard and long you get brown water
on the big island im not sure how the water is in the hilo side but in kona they use rain catchment to get thier water and if it dont rain theyre forced to get water somehow...

Say your in Honolulu.......you drink some bottled water....then you drink tap water. The taste alone will tell you which is best. It wont be the tap water. :peace:

Cool thanks, I'll keep an eye out.
Sewage is outrageous!

Here on Oahu when it rains hard our tap water is contaminated by multiple streams. If you go the Board of Water Supply they will tell you about how safe the water is...at that particular time. I get a chart sometimes, with my bill, :surf:

It was ...to ...me.....a wonderful save.

OMG OMM Warm weather is coming I too need to save my pennies to buy AC...I am going with a portable one with hose to remove hot air. :thumb: Just need 300 bucks :loopy:

Hey IGrowGrass I have a portable that I used last year. It worked just fine. Here in Hawaii we have the highest electric cost in the USA. I had to stop using it. Once I ran it and a big AC for a month and my bill was $1,600.00 dollars. :yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:

I hope you are in a low cost state!

My average bill is about $425,00. Without AC.

WOW OMM, I am soo happy your lady made it through - :high-five:
I know how you feel about eclectic costs, mine is only about $50 less than yours normally.
Luckily I have not had to use heat or cooling as the weather has been really nice for us. I sure hope your weather cooperates with you as well. :thumb:

where i grew up i wouldnt bother with bottled water
where i live now i drink more bottled water
but its still not too bad

I heard it has more to do with our pipes.. Our state is one of the worst states in the nation for having CrVI, which causes cancer...

I've heard people say "No way! Our water is good!"... And yes, its better in taste than many parts of the mainland... One big reason some people think its cleaner is because in states with a lot of limestone in the ground people get kidney stones.. After being here for a while, it usually clears up since our water doesn't have that in it... But that doesn't mean its really "clean".

PS. Water from states like Kentucky, because of the limestone.. Their water tastes 100x better in my book! Naturally flavored! ;)

I've always drank out of the tap-- maybe that's why my stomach is tougher :)
I agree that our pipes are the problem-- they NEVER upgrade those things until they break.
I guess I would have to send a pint of tap to a lab for analysis if I really want to know what's in it...
And then another one after one of those nasty storms.

Hi OMM!

Sorry I haven't been around as much lately, but looks like things are getting back on track with a close call on the White Rhino. With your increased heat -- can you add silica to your soil with the OC+? Good for heat and pest resistance both, and builds stronger stems and branches... Just a thought, I thought I remember that you did use Silica at some point? Or am I just imagining that? I don't understand OC+ enough to know whether the two are compatible, but I'd bet they are.

I agree on the Mag deficiency, but the notion that N toxicity could have caused it seems like a valid consideration to me. One thing to consider might be a periodic flush with this plant just for regular maintenance. Maybe it's sensitive to N or needs more mag than most? The plants I have in bloom right now got too much nitrogen, and I'm kicking myself. It's like any amount is too much for them - some plants just seem to be this way...

You were right - great help and great community. Sure glad you have had so much support!

Congrats on almost having car paid off - that'll help a bunch I'm sure. Hope you and Jo are both doing well! :)

I have the same problem with one of my plants. Me of little experience and half a mind.... not the expert like you will try the 10-15-10 nutes. Great to read your site!!!:thankyou:

Hi OMM,

I'm way back on page 25 I think...problems with WR...ooh noo!!!

This might have been resolved by now...I'm still catching up

It looks just like this

Potassium4.jpg

I'd add some molasses to my nute mix if it was my plant

:peace:

Edit: OK, I finally caught up...sorry I even posted this now. So glad you've resolved things

I've posted all kinds of these nute def charts in my photos section...If I knew how I'd put them into the my blog section. haha

Hi SurfBuddy. You are so right....they have to break before they do a thing.
And your right about the only way to know is to send in a sample. :high-five:

Speaking of nasty storms...looks like we are about to have one now. The wind is picking up and really dark clouds here. Maybe it will blow over. :cheesygrinsmiley:

hey surf depends what island your on if the weather affects the water
on oahu i know its coming from deep wells and they say it takes like 20 yrs for the water we drink to get into the wells they get it from......
thats a lotta filtering, its why the water is so good to drink from tap
unless you got old pipes with all the growth in it
lol
ive seen inside an old galvanized pipe not pretty lol

Hey Old Friend....glad to you out and about again.:thumb:

I have been giving them silica all along....I was surprised when she fell right over. It's strange about OC+ and heat. Never had that problem before. The all got cal mag last night.....they look great today.....pictures later tonight.

Jo and I are doing fine. How about 14000 miles on a car I bought new and it's about to be paid off. :high-five: No place like 420 for help. I'll be over to see you soon. Getting stormy here. :cheesygrinsmiley:
