Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Congrats on the harvest and on the queen tut!

I'd go perfect sun, variety is the spice of life. I can't tell you from experience yet but am planning on getting the Goliath when it comes out, it's a 2.5' by 2.5' light perfect for my tents, no light mover needed and can be pu 18" from the plants. Shiggitys results are pretty amazing. I don't think you can go wrong with the 3 options you listed.

Congrats on the harvest Canna.
So colorful. A mosaic of hues.
Well done my dear. Big up for the smoking cessation.

Do they still make Sun Circle light movers? If so, I'd vote for one of them, three arms moving around so each light's illumination contributes to the entire grow room. Stick a big honkin' HPS on one arm, a smaller MH on the second, and the LED panel of your choice on the third. The HPS would provide the gross illumination numbers (and lean towards flowering), the MH would contribute a lot of light and help keep your internodal distances shorter (and also contribute some UV IF you run it in an open reflector), and the LED would help by filling in specific wavelengths. If you wish more UV - or decide to run your MH in an air-cooled reflector - you could probably figure out a way to add some fluorescent reptile bulbs here and there when the time is right.

A little complicated, and a bit expensive. But I saw some amazing results in the past with a mixture of HPS and MH lighting (at a 3:1 ratio) during flowering with a "Circle" - more than either HPS or MH alone, and even more than the same wattage of mixed lighting when they were stationary. This was before LEDs, but I'd think they could be a valuable addition to the mix in terms of their ability to supplement certain wavelengths.

Or you could just build your own kit out of the most efficient LED COBs you can get your hands on (they are available in different color temperatures, IIRC), at a spacing of one COB per square foot across your entire footprint, lol. That seems to be a rather productive way to go.

Both of those ideas seem like they could end up being rather expensive, though. If you only grow for yourself - or only gift your extra - then such ideas may not be feasible. You'd save a lot (in regards to the COB idea) in building your own, but even then the costs could be substantial in a sizable room.

Hey Nis an Canna hope all is well in your world and the mans not busting your hump to bad. Hope you guys don't mind us asking a newbie question but need some advise. Our train wreck auto that we topped may need some trimming but we're chicken shit to do it. Something is telling us it needs a trim but have heard so much about autos being so fragil we don't want to just start cutting leaves off. If you guys get a spare min could you pop in and take a look at her? Understand you guys have a full plate but we would greatly appreciate it if you could drop some advice our way.

Blessed buds our friends

Morning friends! Gals are looking fab over here and congrats on that recent harvest. Nice to see some more babies added to the picture, I hope they do well for ya. I see a lot of people grabbing up these Tutankhamon beans, after I see a few grow out I may have to look into them, best of luck with it. Hope everything else is is well :)

Did that originally come from a Ghost Train Haze phenotype?

That's some really good info Mono! Thanks for taking the time to help out. I never would have thought those were spores.

Have a puff just because.

Bud rot sucks but you can still blast it. Betaine kills everything.

I blasted bud rot and pm buds, then got the dabs tested for mold and all that. Nothing. Passed with flying colors. Came o8t better than 75% thc, too

I've heard that light is bad for roots. Although... Now that I think about it, I wonder if people were seeing air-pruning and making the assumption that it was the light instead of the air which caused it. Hmm... There's an idea for an experiment - two clones, one in an opaque pot and one in a transparent one, both allowed to remain in the vegetative phase long enough so that the roots can reasonably be expected to reach the sides/bottom of the containers at or before the flowering stretch stops. I won't be performing it any time soon, but if anyone wishes to, I'd be interested in learning of the results.

It's far from a scientific experiment, but I started several clones in clear plastic cups before reading that clear is bad and accepting that as fact. A week or so later I started another batch in red cups of the same size. I let them all get pretty root bound before transplanting and I didn't notice any problems with the roots in the clear cups. IIRC, all but one of the clear cups developed what I believe was algae (possibly moss, but not mold). It did not appear to have done any damage, but of course it was leeching nutrients. Both batches grew at the same rate after transplanting.

I need to top a few branches tonight (actually last week some time), if I have any clear cups left I'll clone the cuttings and put 50/50 in clear/red cups. If anyone can come up with a good clear 3 gallon or larger container, I may even try it through flowering.

I was thinking about one of those opaque Rubber maid storage containers.

<SCRATCHES HEAD> But opaque is, by definition, pretty much the opposite of clear.
