WHAT?? lol That certainly is an interesting fact Duggan, I never knew this. I've been growing for a few years and never actually realized this. I have noticed that the tap root sort of pigtails if you let it get to long before planting, would this be the same thing that it's trying to do?
Thought I would swing by and share this with you all.
Last of my OG Kush
don't mind if I do Mono. swop you for the last of my Bubba kush?
Yes Dick, if you waste a seed and just watch it over a couple days you will see it try and do this as you said. It's a genetic thing that ALL cannabis seeds do when planted but with that in mind , like I said before it doesn't really matter cuz I don't care who you are ...you will NOT be able to see that you've done this and the seed is pointing down...it just doesn't matter. What does matter A LOT though is ..as soon as the shell splits a little...just a wee bit..get it in soil , pronto...don't wait for the root to come out...it's wasting very valuable energy doing that and we want ALL it's energy to go into breaking the surface. Cheers eh!
Hey everyone. Just popping in to say hello.
I myself like to wait until the tap root just barely pokes out enough so I know which direction it's pointing when it gets covered up. I will try pointing the root end up on my next couple of beans here next week sometime.
Did that include their three-part nutrient line? I'd like to see a journal that used those.
No it's a two part a-b. A roots-vegetation B-buds-flowers
'tis true about the root, though. You can observe it without wasting a seed by planting it right up against the side of a plastic soda pop bottle. I'd use a Mountain Dew one - the (green) light that gets through doesn't seem to harm the tender rootlet.
