Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Imo it's easier to mix in a kiddie pool or something similar, I tried mixing in totes but felt it was harder to get a nice even mix. I'll mix in the pool then store in tote. I let them cook for 30-45 days I'll dump a tote in the pool every couple days for the first couple weeks to continue mixing them and gradually mix them less and less as the days go on. Hope it makes sense lol

I've gotten to be a "regular visitor" at a huge neighboring wholesale plant nursery. They mix all their own custom mixes in a huge vat and have a furnace or heater to sterilize the soil. I'm pretty sure they'll mix up any custom mix I wanted. I hand mixed my soil in big garbage cans and it was a back breaker. Since I'm going to be doing some indoor grows next I don't need a big amount of soil as I did for my outside tubs.

Watch (or search) Craigslist for a cement/concrete mixer. I see several each year, even here in my little podunk neck of the woods. People buy them so they don't have to make up their mix by hand - which I don't blame them for after having grown up watching Dad do such things - to do some little project and then the mixer sits in their garage unused until they get tired of having to walk around it and decide to see what they can sell it for. You'll probably see more smaller sizes than larger ones (but this should be fine for the (home) indoor cannabis grower).

You can rent those mixers at the local Homey's, too!

Hey Canna, I was wondering if the aloe could be directly dissolved in the warming coconut oil for the pain creme? I've heard some people say the water isn't technically necessary to buffer the heat in cannabutter recipes but I wasn't sure if you were using it as the solvent for the aloe. Just my thoughts lol

Good Morning friends! I have some great news! Our kits came in the mail yesterday! It even came with a signed note from the Doc! That's going in a frame.

I don't know what's up with this girl, but she hasn't grown since she popped.

Here are a few pics I snapped of the herbal aromatherapy body crème. I ended up adding an aloe infused coconut oil to the crème. I also added some Herbal E/O to the crème for healing purposes and for the wonderful aroma. After I cooled it the first time, the consistency was kind of heavy and greasy. I reheated the crème and whipped it it in a bowl over a bag of ice. The texture is amazing, and the feel isn't so greasy.

Love the kit.. Good luck and have fun!!
Little baby don't give up on her.. might just need some root help.
And when I saw the pic of the creme... I thought you were making a cake  texture was amazing.

Aloe as you know is jelly-ish from the leaf. It is easier to just smooth it out with water to not have any lumps of it in the creme.
I don't think it will harm it to be dissolved in oil..but I always try to avoid heating up the aloe ..( I could be wrong but ..) since I believe some healing elements could be destroyed in the heat.

I'm glad you asked that. I initially tried to dissolve the aloe powder in the coconut oil. It may or may not have dissolved, but it would not go through a coffee filter. That's when I decided to do it with the water method. That way, the undissolved solids would settle to the bottom with the water, and the dissolved aloe would bond with the oil. It seemed to work too. The original coconut oil was a greenish color, like it has aloe in it. I have no idea if I can test it to see if the aloe is in there, so I assume its there and helping. Thanks for asking bud!!

I didn't think about not having the healing effects of raw aloe, but I was worried actual raw aloe would eventually rot since I did not add a preservative to the lotion, so I went with the powder infusion in the oil/water. Thanks for jumping in to help out bird! Oh, and top'o'the mornin to ya! :hugs:

N & C, are you guys still doing the dry ice hash at each harvest or are you using the small stuff for meds and edibles? As I get closer to harvest I'm wondering what to do. I'm lazy so I'm tempted to buy the well known butter machine but might go cheap and get the filters for the hash. I'm getting pumped up for this first harvest! The only thing I have left to smoke is so harsh to the throat Snoop Dog would cough up a lung smoking it. It's hardly worth the little buzz I get.

Our first harvest we made bubble hash. It took some time to do. We got a good amt of hash. We smoked some of it, but mostly used it in Cco.

We have been using the fan leaves and popcorn buds for either Cco, or edibles. Since we don't have to use the bubble hash method to get the oils, we just use a winterize process with 95% grain alcohol and decarbed buds to collect the oil as Cco.

Or, we decarb the buds and use it to make cannabutter. I've never had the luxury of the MB machine, but my croc pot method works quite well, just takes time. We usually let it stay in the croc pot overnight, then strain and let cool during the day. The next day the butter is ready to use.

Do u use the leaves right away or let them dry or put them in the freezer?

I see tons of videos on making cannabutter but none on collecting and storing the leaves necessary for the product.

I don't think it really matters. It's recommend that the material for the oil or the butter is decarbed before processing it.

I did once make the Cco without decarbing. Even though the leaves were dry, the solvent still pulled a lot of the chlorophyll out of the leaves. Way more than if I decarb it first.
The oil was pretty dark, but it went into Cco caps so it didn't really matter. We smoked some of it, but it wasn't very tasty.
