I am lost for words mate , all we can do is have faith and hope , bad things can turn into good things , no point thinking too much and rehearsing stuff in your thoughts, it will just drag you down more , its a horrible thing what happened but it is how you react and how you deal with it that will make it better for you and your Wife .. Its the sort of thing ive been learning over the last few months ,
Please try relax , take time to think things out but not thinking the worst because we are wired to think the worst by our egos/thought , get present and think about what needs doing mate , it will get you there less stressed

I've been in a similar situation, and have an idea of what you may be feeling. There is only one path; forward. And the only way forward is to collect yourself, and put one foot forward at a time.
There is no words to make things better, other then if somehow I win the lotto you'll hear from me
Make a list of what needs to get done and focus on that, and being there for Stacey, she needs you just as you need her. There is a reason we call them our better half
Plan an afternoon where you two can just close the phones, and be there for each other.
You both can, and will get through this. In a year or two from now, you'll look back and hopefully it will be from a new dream home.
You've got a global community standing behind you both, take strength and have courage my friend, things will improve.
don't let the lawsuit stuff run you over too hard bill. it's standard operating procedure when there are 2 or more parties involved. some insurers file a lawsuit on 100% of their claims no matter the circumstance, or who's involved.
it's insanely cheap to file, it's done as a bullying tactic to avoid paying and maximize company profit.
it is understandably stressful when your the david going up against the goliath. just remember it only took one rock.
i know you are scrambling, but the best thing you can do for yourself is learn everything you can about the policy, and how the legal mechanisms work. you are always your own best advocate.
things will get a bit clearer once cause is established. before that happens the rest is just posturing designed to intimidate.

I just wanted to say yesterday ended much better than it started.
After encouragement and advice from our wonderful members.
I went to bed last night with hope instead of dispare.
I can't thank you all enough.
Honestly the only glimmer of hope I've had lately
has come from all of you.
And the incredible staff here at 420.
Thank you for the support it means more than you know.
And to top it all off my wife's 14 year old puppy Chewy
who was on deaths door yesterday is alert and wagging his tail this morning.
He has been out for a short walk and had a big drink of water.
We have hope now.

Holy shit Bill! You're all alive which is the most important thing (I know that may mean shit right now considering) I'm gutted for you. Insurance companies are dicks and I'm not sure how Canada works but could you window shop a new lawyer? It seems you're getting a little of the back door treatment.
Ever notice how there is no room for negotiation when it’s time to pay the policy premium??? But as for replacing your loss (literally the work of your lifetime) well now that’s a different story, it’s pennies on the dollar for you sir. Get an attorney. Remind them of how long you have been a faithful customer and this is exactly what insurance is for.
They will pull that old line - well the house was old and in disrepair, you overloaded the wiring so it was your fault and then they hit you with….. it really wasn’t worth market value, economic downturn, blah blah blah
They have the ability to invest premiums to earn enough coin to still pay claims and make a massive profit else they would have went belly up long ago. Like a casino it’s a numbers game and they win every time.

I’m in construction and occasionally will gat a insurance job …floods/storms/fires and it would be in your best interest to hire a public insurance appraiser.
He will fight on your behalf as he works for you, homeowners do it all the time and it’s amazing how much they can get from the ins companies.

Good morning everyone.
Thank you all so much for help and encouragement.
We are still in limbo at the moment with no assistance from the insurance company.
They did however send an electrical inspection team Friday.
They were there 7 hours.
No word yet from them. Waiting on their report. Fingers crossed.
In the meantime the amazing staff at @420 has been so helpful from the very get go. Thank you so much.
They have been working with WeeGrow who contacted me this morning.
Thank you @OfficialWEEGrow.
I'm optimistic that they are going to be of some assistance.
Also the terrific members here have been incredibly helpful and encouraging.
In the meantime Stacey and I are doing our best to be positive.
I can't thank you all enough. It has ment so much to us.

It was a bad night and even worse this morning.
Insurance company informed us the policy has been canceled.
The term they used is they are getting off risk.
What ever that means.
No one will answer phone or call us back.
I don't imagine that is a good sign.
I'm doing my best to stay positive trying my hardest.
My poor wife i can't put it in words.
