I don't believe it is through the fear of opening the flood gates and having everyone wanting to promote their cause. It's where do you draw the line? If you do it for one, others will expect the same treatment.
I know this seems like a special case and compassion should prevail.
But, others may believe their cause was in need of more support than the last.
The line has to be drawn and we all have to stick to those rules or there would be anarchy.

Sometimes its just best to say nothing even when your intentions are RIGHT , it can come of all wrong and sound counterproductive and sometimes plan rude.
I just want to say how terrible I feel about what happened to Bill. My heart truly goes out to him and his family; they are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.
I also want to say thank you to everyone for understanding that this is a difficult and delicate situation; it is definitely not a common occurrence and we are doing our best to work it all out. We care very much and that is why the link is still here.
@oldskoolbudz we should be joining together to support Bill, not riling everyone up, causing division and further negative energy. How is attacking us helping anything at all? Please stop and take the time to understand the situation a little better before you do something you may end up regretting.

Just to update you a little.
Rob@420 contacted me immediately and has been a tremendous help.
Thank you so much Rob.
Insurance company sent a electrical inspection team on Friday. They were there for 7 hrs.
And removed everything for testing.
Hopefully this is a good thing.
Fingers crossed because their original email based on preliminary fire marshal report said they would not cover anything.
I’m growing back my eye brows.
But had to shave my mustache and goatee so I look so different now.
The burns on my face were superficial so that will be ok too.
PLEASE PLEASE everyone get a big fire extinguisher and keep it close to your rooms.
And really good smoke and co2 detectors. PLEASE.
The little fire extinguishers empty in seconds.
They are Not sufficient.
And just FYI panda film is flammable so Please be careful.

Great little bit of news; that the insurance company is actually getting involved. They could have totally walked away from it. So that's a positive vibe. Hopefully they can find the cause..Sorry to here about your moustache and goatee
I have just installed a new smoke alarm and I have 3 extinguishers. Thank you for the advice..
Stay strong you two.. you will make it through this difficult time. It will soon just be a bad memory.

Yes it very good news that the insurance is helping now. You and your family are still in my prayers. Being prepared for a fire is always a good idea. Unfortunately most of us don't think of that until it is to late. Fantastic advice Bill I have a feeling you will build back better and stronger. Stand tall and know there are people that care and are working to support you in this time of need.
Sounds like 420 Mag and Wee Grow are also working for you behind the curtain. I'm sure they both feel horrible for what happened, Kudo's to them for backing you up! We all need to chill and let things work them self out.

Once we have the report, then we can begin taking actions.
Hopefully everyone involved calms down and sympathizes, and you all just tough it out until the repairs are done.
Everything is falling into place as it should, and we'll do everything we can to help you through til the end.
In almost thirty years, we've only had one similar incident. When Mars Hydro first launched, one of their new lights had a short where the AC plugs into the unit's receptacle. Luckily it tripped the breaker and the member was able to see the spark damage. We haven't heard of anything like this here ever, and hopefully never do.

in the past insurers didn't have to pay out on grow room fires as it was considered illegal activity, even if the wiring and equipment was up to standard.
since legalization, some insurance companies have tried to weasel out of some claims, and continue to operate as if nothing changed. however, so long as the activity has not been deemed illegal, which it is not, then the insurer has a legal obligation to compensate.
the only time they would not be required to compensate, would be if they included a clause in the insurance policy stating the specific activity was prohibited, thus voiding the contract. i doubt the insurance company is ahead on this.
i would go through the policy looking for language specifically against growing activity. so long as the number of plants is legal, they should have an obligation.
i'll get my shit together and chip in.
