Waywardwayne's Kiwi OG + Thin Mint Kiwi Get To Know Me Journal

Little sis got chopped. I just don’t see it going anywhere.

Big sis, aka asparagus got transplanted up. I wasn’t going to but after seeing the smaller ones roots it looked like it was needed. I was as gentle as possible as it’s an auto and in flower. Gonna fill it up closer to full later today.

Tied the dosido down and will guide her into producing more tops before it goes to flower.

They spent the night inside last night but the rest outside. Got down to 45 outside last night.

Got soap in my eye this morning.

Here’s a song I enjoy. And here’s another. Hope everyone’s Sunday goes well. Let me know if that tie job looks ok.

There is a tie towards the top. If you look to the right of your circle, it’s there about an inch. It’s just covered by a leaf mostly. I wanted to bend it more but I had just split another plant down the middle and was being overly cautious. I’ll put one further out and crank it down more tonight before the sun is down. Thanks for the advice shed.

Edit* I think I get what you’re saying now. Remove the middle so it bows instead of a straight shot?

Exactly. I've never once split a plant with LST using a curve. Also, since the point of LST is to get the top lower than the growth below it, that is very difficult with a straight shot.
The one I split had two main stems and I tied one with no problem but the second one split before I even felt any resistance. I’ll upload a pic of that too.

The one bent here is kinda big to train this way but she doesn’t mind. Turned all sites up and even twisted a fan leaf 180• over night. I’ll update later with the other plant and the improvement on the tie down. Thanks again.

The sour patch kids had to have emergency care. Luckily an external splint should do it.

And here is the repositioning of the tie down. I removed the middle, it was already slack too, and I repositioned the one at the top further out and pulled it down tighter.

Starting to frost a little and stink too. I am not a fan of this, it smells like a rotting kiwi or banana or some other fruit. I don’t know if I’ll be able to smoke this if it smells even worse once it matures more.

Caterpillar munching on the abundant ground stuff.

Major progress on raised bed. The top is waist high to me and I’m 6 foot. I will be putting holes in the bottom and sides for air and I’ll probably only fill 2 compartments to start. Because I’m liking being able to put potted plants in it now. It’s 8x2x2 and separated into (2) 2x2x2 and (1) 2x2x4. Should be able to grow tomatoes and another thing or two and have two compartments for a weed plant each. It’s the best sun overall and it’s on the solar panel stand.

And here we have a new seed popped up. It’s going to be in coco and it’ll be my first time with coco. I’ll be feeding her or him megacrop. Planted two in hopes of one female.

:thumb: Hi WW, don't be put off by the smell. Some of the rottenest smelling as they grow plants that I've grown have smoked the smoothest and tastiest! It's the weirdest thing!
Garden looks great!

Congrats on the new sprout and the raised bed looks great! :welldone: Dunno nothing about them but do they usually have holes in the sides? Are you going to line it to keep the soil from running out when you water?
I might staple a mesh at the bottom but the soil shouldn’t be a huge issue, I built it on a slant to one corner so it’ll drain mostly there. When there’s a heavy rain we will test that theory!

I’ll use this to make the drain holes.

I would love to be surprised in a good way. For now it almost smells like fresh compost and I don’t mean that in any good way. Would be awesome if it turns around and is nice smoke.

There’s a lot of stuff growing right now but the tomatoes are just about to flower and start fruiting. I’ve gotten lucky with the weather for growing.

I have foot-wide L-shaped concrete window box on top of a block wall. The short end has holes along the bottom and the soil needs to be topped up there on a regular basis and the plants settle really far down. The longer part has holes along the sides has the soil last much longer. And I've stuffed the holes with cotton balls!
Dang maybe I should do an inch or so of perlite in top of a screen, lining the botttom, to help retain the soil. Might help, I don’t want to have to add too often. Not every rain or watering at least.

It's not that often! But I definitely should have used weed-block down there before I filled it up.
Good, I have to carry things up to the cabin on foot about 400 feet up the path, everything. So making sure the soil stays put should be considered before I load it with soil. I’ll definitely update the attempt.

Well time for an update but no pictures this time.

Plants have been doing well. Remember we are down to the asparagus and the straggler out back. The asparagus is looking pretty nice for what it is. Same for the straggler. Two that went into the compost have taken root there and went from laying down to half down and the tops are straight up. They want to live but I don’t want to raise them.

Asparagus has been coming in to the tent inside for a few hours at night to give it a little extra light. I started doing that when it was begging for more light. Praying for it. Goes out at 6am but the sun has been up two hours by then. Comes in about 5 or 6 and lights out at 9:30. What the hell I’ll take a picture!

Today it was 96f out. I thought it was very hot. Then about 40 minutes ago it started to rain and lightning. Most lightning I’ve heard in Maine. Heavy rain too. Plants outside look like they are not happy with it. I watered this morning in anticipation for the heat. Will see what they look like by morning.

Collected 55 gallons water off my roof in about 20 minutes. That is so much better that carrying water up to the cabin by hand. 🙏

Two of the baby’s didn’t make it, first two I’ve ever had that didn’t grow. Also found a seed in some chem cookies. Definitely unexpected and will be growing it, maybe even plant it to replace one of the seeds that died, though it would be a late starter if I do. Thanks all

That was definitely worth a pic! Whatever the heat outside, the inside got an early dusting of frost. :)
Indeed! Some of it looks like diamonds. Thanks for keeping up with us. I'm starting to like this plant. 😉 Even smells better slightly, more kiwi or fruity, not as garbagee. I wonder at times if that’s placebo or real. If the sun shines today I expect some major growth to follow. I’ll get some more pictures up later of the dosido or the grapes n’ crème that’s tied over. I can’t remember what plant is what on a couple of them but I narrowed it down to two strains 😳

I’ll update on a few grows here even though it’s the kiwi og and kiwi thinmints in the title. Definitely should update more on the thinmints, they were so small before and still are.

I think we got hit with that on its way to you yesterday! My outdoor plants look ragged this morning! What doesn't kill em!
