Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

'mornin folks :byebye:,

had to devise this "cast" to help this girl from further splitting. I think this will hold her.

wind's blowin' hard, onshore about 25 mph, going to blow all day, sun is gushing, :thumb: more later

Good morning Trichomes,

Was a trimming last night, did a Connoisseur's Trim, took awhile, but am all done now. Me and Ruth, she's my mule, stopped on the way over & got us our picture taken. Isn't she pretty?

I see that LA is talking about sling shottin some buds when Miss Fluxy starts flexing those arms of hers. When you decide to sling shot some, maybe you can point her arm in my direction. I'm pretty sure you're gonna be able to hit my yard from here!

Nice to see Miss Fluxy is doing well & getting stronger!

:Namaste:

Howdy nayba :high-five: boy that Ruthy sure is purdy! Thank you for showing your feelings for Fluxy, one of her cousins got hurt last night.

Do you think that band-aid will keep her in a good position to heal? gotta run,

I found a buyer for some extra gardening tools I found last night.

Hope all your buds are drying w/ no mold & you take good care of your new baby girl, she have a name yet?

Hey Trichs, you should probably put another maybe 6-8" up. I think what you just did was moved that weight a little bit further up the stalk. And in this case you will now have two points of having to deal with all that weight. One on each side. Now I'm no math wizierd but the geometry of it makes since to what I'm saying. Angles.... Make sense? Can you see it?

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

the weight of the plant is not in the main stem, but the outer branches which are dragging the center apart. I would put support on those lateral branches to take pressure off the center and remove that wood because it will damage the trunk in the wind with the rubbing. If you can help it, never put anything like that on the main trunk of any plant. Always stake the weighty outer limbs.

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

I may be stubborn :) yet simply bind her up with wire. Use the branching point just up on each side of that pic. This will take total pressure off split.

Thanx LA, please rephrase this please, it has me scratching my head, lol "branching point just up on each side "

appreciate your help Light Addict:green_heart:, should I removed the 2 pieces of lumber, that I custom fit to here stalk?

will the wire constrict nute flow, thru the stalk, as she grows? I know we enjoy plant torture but, choking seems detrimental to her growth & heakling? i'm not disagreeing, i'm just seeking the most possible information I can pry from your brilliant mind!:thumb:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

Trichomes,

Try tying some hemp rope around the 2 lateral branches. Lightly pull the laterals towards the center and knot it. Notch the wood in a U shape and place under the laterals. It will stabilize the "Y" and take the stress off of the main stem.

Ruth thinks it's a good idea.

:peace:

Chicken parm?? I knew I was hungry... now I have to go get dinner!!

I made you a plate M&Ms, Ruth whacked it in one bite, the porcelin bowl shards are still in here lips, I gotta go find the mop
Ruthy aint real bright.

Not me, I was just referring to folks we don't know around these yards. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Of course you're welcome any time, just keep Ruth away from the prized green stuff.

Fancy a quick nip while Trichster is away from the bar eating his chicken parm ?

BB, see how you are, i leave you in charge for 10 minutes & you n ol' festus are into my stash again,

thanks for the helpful shares on plant bondage yesterday:goodjob:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

The little Darkstar me & Ruth are workin on? Yeah, we're going to call her "Miss Kitty" and maybe we are going to try to pollinate a stem & make a 420 cross. Slogrow came up with the idea and we are going to call the cross "Gunsmoke".

:high-five:

thanks GF, IMO any weight on either limb, will make the split grow, I think it must be held at the split? :scratchinghead:

:thankyou: very much!

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

=Y= Hemp rope tied around the laterals, tie knot, not to tight, so it won't cut.
/\ Notched boards "U shape" under the laterals, adjust as needed.

:Namaste:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

Will do for now, plastic may cut when the wind causes the plant to sway. Hemp rope is way less friction & better for adjusting. Just my 2 cents.

"U shape" under the laterals :scratchinghead: translate I'm a lil' rusty on my "hill" :thanks:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

Cut a U shape in the boards you have, prop them so the laterals can rest their weight in the "U Notches" so they won't pull on the main stem.

thanks Ruthy! I'm outta hemp rope, but I do have some waxed hemp-wick, ya know the stuff tree huggers use to light their joints?

will that work?:thumb:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

A temporary fix is to take a nice fat towel or towels and make a pillow for the lateral branches to rest and make it firm that way from the bottom up using the towel as the pillow. Don't force anything, just get the fabric under it to nest it and hold it still while it roars windy. Remove it when the wind stops later. I wouldn't use wood or anything that can harm the main stem.

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

oooohhhhhhhhhhhhh. now i'm catching your drift :high-five:

Good, the light went off . You can pad the notches with anything you want to, if you like.
