notched lumber is sidelined and replaced with this, you like? maybe the hemp wick instead os wire ties? I'm liking her like this, please try to talk me out of this a more creative idea.

A temporary fix is to take a nice fat towel or towels and make a pillow for the lateral branches to rest and make it firm that way from the bottom up using the towel as the pillow. Don't force anything, just get the fabric under it to nest it and hold it still while it roars windy. Remove it when the wind stops later. I wouldn't use wood or anything that can harm the main stem.
