Volksball's First Grow: White Widow Feminized Grow Journal 2018

I think I agree with you now about the calcium... this is when those needs have increased and it makes sense. I would increase the amount of calmag given to these plants by 50% and keep everything else the same, and then carefully watch for any progression of this problem.
Ok thanks. I think should mention that I have never given them Cal-Mag. Maybe that right there is the issue, as you've mentioned. I'll grab some today. That said, should I rewater with it? Or wait until the next watering to add? And when you say by 50%, how much is that from zero? What it calls for on the label? I've heard it's hard to overdose a plant with it.

Ok thanks.

Good product? Has other stuff in it too. Might be too much with my nutes? Go with a straight Cal Mag only?

Such as:

I'm using GH nutes, so this seems to make sense, but the add ons in the first product seems attractive. I know, I know, more doesn't not equal better. Ha. It's an illness.

Was thinking to also add some dolomite like to the soil to stabilize pH. Good idea? Or are we now adding far too much?

Ok thanks.

I think that some organic liquid/dry nutes lower the ph of your soil slowly. That’s why I added lime pellets last grow. I think it kept my plants healthier longer into flower.

I can not see that nutes which are used, broken down into salt and basic minerals, and that get flushed out of the soil regularly, could possibly change the base pH of the soil. People need to stop trying to manually adjust their soil... just water with the correct pH every time and you are good... there is no need to adjust anything else.

The fox farm liquid organic fertilizer when mixed with 6.8 tap water went down to 5.2 (not sure how the time release fertilizer and dry fertilizers from fox farm affect soil) and I read that ph up and down is bad for organisms in soil. That’s why it made sense to me to add lime that would release slowly. Would love to get more in depth on this topic

So what your saying is if the soils ph is 6.5 and you feed 5.5 it won’t affect the ph of the soil over time?
What usually happens though is that soil with a high peat content drifts toward the acidic over time as the very acidic peat breaks down into its base components... without flushing, that debris can definitely whack up the soil... but that is one of the reasons we flush.

So then, having a soil with a high peat content, it's advisable that I flush it out? You mentioned in an earlier post, that flushing only drains valuable nutes away. I may be mis-remembering. I know my soil is naturally acidic, but I continue to just water with pH corrected water.

And so adding lime pellets to the soil would counteract the peat leaning acidic over time?

I didn’t know flushing organically was necessary. I’ve always thought hydro you water till runoff and soil you don’t want runoff cause that would just be flushing nutes that are in your soil out the bottom
If you are growing in a true living soil and you are not using synthetic nutrients you would not need to flush. If you use synthetic nutrients, salt will build up in your soil, and you will need to flush several times during the grow.
