Visualize Whirrled Peas: A Perpetual Garden By 013

Repot Amy #1 on Feb 24…. trimmed and bagged fan leaves for later use. Dug up, root pruned then down-canned from 30 gallon fabric into a 7 gallon air pot. Found metric crap top of live worms but not many rove beetles

Noticed soil moving and viewed a 3/4 inch long larvae doing periscope up in the White Widow dirt. IDK where this larvae originally came from but then recalled finding a giant green katydid in the grow room back in early fall. So the larvae met the same fate as katydid did….. snatched and squished …. anywho WW is still doing reveg slowly, like really slowly. Yeah reveg is ok but needs to be a separate sideline kinda biz set way off in the corner so one doesn’t waste time or space

Bean germination is late or has failed, not sure whats up but will go digging tomoz. Observed soil mites marching on rim of 1 seed starter cup… no worries for now but moved a raped rooter thats seeded with rove beetle juveniles in for the rescue. While my predator colonies are greatly diminished I’m pretty confident these recent soil mites are still beneficials….

no pics
either I’m a lazy sob
or there’s not much happening in the garden

I’m kewl with whichever you decide…. ;)

full fledged borg invasion has webbed up the tops on Hawaiin Haze, it was still in veg but slipped a bag over its head then cut its throat. The HH was merely a CBD plant so no biggie, the pisser is a 2 week old Super Silver Haze seedling that’s already well populated with clap. I dont care about soil mites but when critterz starts climbing the little green trees - yeah, no, that’s not good.

Deep clean and nuking are ongoing efforts. I’ve got tons of IPM stuff but for now we’ve killed & removed the infested one and isolated the others with No Pest Strips and will perhaps go with SNS systemic added to water sessions.

the mites happened to plants that were in other smaller containers so I’m hoping Lefty & Righty the LOS 32 gallon pots are ok and not spawning parasitic garden vermin…… not seeing a lot of live predators on surface of the soil so I’m confident we could benefit from refreshing rove beetle colony

Hey 013 I'm sorry to hear you are still having problems with pests. I hope you get a a handle on those mites, for me personally when I had my own full fledged borg invasion last summer they decimated everything very quickly.

Thanks for this ^^

Yes crap I’m sorry to hear about that, sadly I’ve lost a few times where the borg was involved. Nasty nastily little buggers.

Ladybugs too?
How did I not see this??

Yes sir - I could defs use a refresh on ladybirds…… my flower area is in a sealed 12 X 12 basement room. I haven’t seen any ladybugs in a while but was wondering if they went dormant in overhead crevices where the temps are warmest.

yikes Shed, I can not have another outbreak.

On a side note… just pedaled over to yours and saw the Sour G reveg and there’s a beautiful solution to my WW problem. slice and dice a few clones while I wait for reveg to finish.

thanks InTheShed!

Hey 013 :)

As you well know my Borg War is never needing. They have literally been treated the last two days in a row.

I am wondering if a smaller more manageable pot might be helpful. For me when it comes to spraying there is no way I could get into the nooks and crannies I need to, to get that solution on leaf.

I have a spot where I can lift my pot and balance it to treat. I’ll get a pic for you today.

There is no way I could manage my mite infestation if I couldn’t lift my pots. No. Fucking. Way.

Hey Cutie!!!

Yes ma’am I elevate the pots for spraying except for the 30 gallon bags but they are 40 inches above the floor so I can get under them pretty well. However I’m really dreading pest control on this monster cropped White Widow with all her bushy mess going on. I’m in awe of how well you manage nits during flower on monster cropped girls… not an easy task.

Sounds like MC.

The downside to a monstercrop.

true that - there is a downside! My last mc plant was spread out but WW is Christmas tree style so al, of the old bud sites are packed in the middle

the plan is a No Pest Strip necklace, hang it for 7 days to bust life cycle from adult to eggs and use rosemary systemic in the feed water.

Garden has been in slo-mo since I lowered temps on spider mite war. Think they are eradicated now. Finally nuked the tent, clean and reset of flower room still in progress.

Babys’ got new shoes -upcanned WW reveg chick from 7 gallons to 16 gallons.

UFO sighting - oops my bad it’s a UCO an unidentified crawling object. A tan or translucent critter that moves fast and is larger that typical mite. IDK what but found a few crawling on wooden table.

recent beans drops are not sprouting or thriving….. suspect lower temps

in other news - spring has sprung and things are on the uptick. Pulling maintenance on trucks, tractors, mowers, utility trailers etc. Have a metric boat-load of trees that are down or leaning severely and need removal. yippee yeah have you met my little orange friend named Stihl??

thanks for reading be smart, safe and stay vigilant out there

clean tent finally
White widow reveg
Critical with her tips clawed yup its a bad pic but there’s a snake plant companion sitting behind her - nope not in same container

ciao

Hi 013

Good to see you are still in the game.

I’ll be super interested in how that Reveg turns out :)

whaddup Daisy?

I’m still kicking. oh yes this reveg is going slower than slow. So glad I moved Amy reveg out of the garden, in the end she croaked and never regenerated. The only reason I’m doing the WW reveg is cuz I hate to lose out or give up on a girl.

Gonna crank room heat to see if new beans will sprout and maybe survive this time, wish me luck dear.

Where do you get your seeds?

I totally rate one of the sponsors, it Herbies.

I have successfully struck 4 from 4. Easy as too. Just laid them in dirt.

Congrats on the tent cleanup...I hope it sticks!

A lot cheaper to get a heat mat with a thermostat. :)

Hey Shed!!! Same here on hoping the cleanup lasts. My tent has had so many generations of borg & fungus gnats over past 2 years that I should prolly burn it and start over.

Yes sir - I do need a heat mat for sprouts & clones.

Oh yeah I found out the calibration trick does not work unless you remember to add water to the capful of salt. For Pete’s sake - would‘ve thunk it??? what a bone head I can be

I’m all ears baby doll… help me kill some mites!
So started over with new seeds and I’ve had zero mites!

It was my clones! Hey always had mites so I just reinvested myself.
