Visualize Whirrled Peas: A Perpetual Garden By 013

Tell me about it Patient puffer, winter wind is coming in and it’s gonna be down to 26 here tonight I miss that hps generated heat. I’ve got oil filled heaters for the grow and one of the infrared models. Obviously the infrared can not be in the flower room since it glows bright orange but yeah my energy costs are going up and my vpd numbers are going sideways.

Hey 13Goody, what’s up in your corner of the world? Wall panel heater, hmmm sounds like a plan I’ve got to get on the Zon tonight anyway. I need some low wattage heat too for the bottom of the tent.

Oh yes peeps there is an automated text scam that’s phishing as Amazon saying your account has been hacked and you owe money - ignore this, don’t respond. I will be making the rounds to your soon! Bet you’ve got some wind coming off that gorgeous waterfront huh?

It’s been a minute since last update, also has been colder than a well diggers insoles. It’s not that temps are terrible - it’s just that winter bites.

In other news we gave up on the crappy clone mom that was suspected of having root aphids, she started to flower but quickly devolved into chaos. She was going brown and eating fans faster than a heifer in your garden patch. Then a few buds started fading out, I threw the kitchen sink at her and nothing stopped the slide. It’s not worth my time to do rootopsy, good riddance - her airpot is sitting on the cold concrete slab and that soil will recycle on outdoors.

The coolest part was finding a few of the paki valley beans so that line is not totally gone. Will have to read more into the prospects of seeds from selfed hermie... found about 6 of the PV beans total out of nearly 4 gallons of weed, this was from the 2nd generation line of clones.

The bad news is fresh bud supply is running low, still got maybe 1/4 gallon fresh plus a slew of cobs & a quart of dragon. Not dankrupt by any means but need to get some branches hanging sooner rather than later.

Last time I tried to germ some beans ended in catastrophe. The fresh cooked soil was sprouting white larvae, it looked like a rice convention happened on my soil so the beans didn’t make it. Got a few new starts going now, film at 11.

I dropped a pair of beans from left to right blue dream and white widow, the little chick on the far right deserves a few lines of her own. I had previously dropped beans back on Nov 24 and along the way I knocked a solo cup over, if fact I did it twice within about 2 weeks, so this could be any one of the 3. It’s either an Ice which I really hope it is, or another Blue Dream or perhaps an Alaska Purple auto.

When I tipped the solo cup over I gently scooped up the soil and put in on top of this homemade pot from a recycled Clorox jug. I had given up on her since it didn’t sprout last month, found it Monday night on a shelf, it had sprouted tall and spindly with a hard u-hook in the tiny stem having her cotyledons pointing down towards the ground. I didn’t get a pic of that but went immediately into triage. Gave her sip of water and shored it up with castings & perlite, covered with a misted wet baggie and directly under cfl lights. I’m pumped this girl is standing upright and the crook in her neck is gone! Time will tell if it’s Ice, Blue Dream or Alaska Purps auto but I’m impressed she had the vigor to pop above soil while sitting on a cold dark shelf outside the tent.

He’s back in the game :)

You have been such a good friend to me 013. Thank you for always taking the time to watch my back. Happy New Year to my first ever 420 friend.

I hope you have the best year EVER!

Xoxoxoxo

Miss TraLa! You are a dear friend and a rare jewel; always so much fun to hang out with! Your personality and wit shine thru in any occasion. We try to look out for others here and I”m richer for having that experience with you - the best part is you reciprocate in so many ways. Here’s to a bountiful garden in the New Year and no nits!!!

@The Celt Let me borrow your skills please sir!

Here is Decca the 10 armed Hawaiin Haze chick / problem child, tell me what you see as possible causes / deficiencies. She was looking stellar got to 3 weeks of flowering thought she was on cruise control so I lollipopped all the lowers to focus on colas. Soil grown, pretty sure she’s got critters so I’m hitting her with SNS 203 root drench & foliar and just started alternating with Safers soap.

She’s growing in Supersoil / LOS but no worms, nematodes or defensive predators. Per Nutty Professor I’ve been hitting her with epsom foliar spray. Pretty sure I’ve got to make mention of Saugaview pics.... registered trademark, patents pending, all rights reserved and all that good stuff.

going for water only supersoil tap is 5.8 from 400 foot well drilled in granite rock, plus adding stout msa first. She gets a little fishy ferts from bottle and epsoms but that’s about it. Soil is peat based & perlite, loaded with humus & manure, rabbit poop, worm castings, lime, DE, sulfur, oyster shell flour, mulch, gypsum, kelp, wood ash & biochar, fine fiver sand

Stout is monosilica acid or silica. Cool I’ve added mg to my water and giving it as foliar spray and added langbenite top dress which is potassium, magnesium & sulfur.

I just felt a bit off hitting with that much magnesium but the more mag I hit her with the more I can see she has plenty of nitrigen & calcium already working in the soil mix. I will keep after the mag for now cause this one is hungry as a beast for it. I’m sure I didn’t have enough long term mag in this mix so I am remixing and redosing my soil bin with the langbenite & more fine river sand with mica too.

I was just afraid she was going to burn, cook or OD on the epsoms, now I don’t feel so bad!! Really appreciate your input and as always.... if you see anything else that jumps out at you - please don’t hesitate to shout!

Ok, the MSA is good and won’t effect other nutes so that leaves 3 possible causes for a Mg def.

1 - not enough in the soil starting out - good possibility
2 - lockout caused by too much potassium - maybe
3 - pH drift which in an organic grow should not happen unless something is added to change it

I don’t see anything you are adding that would affect pH, so we can rule that out. That leaves K overload or inadequate Mg levels.

I also don’t see any signs of Ca issues so you are not even close to causing Mg OD

Looking at what you have in your soil, I would suggest leaving anything that adds potassium out of the mix for the next week, and water her with a Tsp of Epsom Salt each watering for now. This will bring up your Mg levels but not the postassium. Then see if she looks better in a weeks time :)

Aside from that, she may be a strain that never looks good growing. For 2 years I grew a Pineapple Chunk pheno, and a friend on here grows the same pheno, that was a great smoke but was never happy. She is always a problem child from start to finish, just a contrary bitch that is always upset about something

Ah that’s incredible! Looking back I do think my mix was weak on magnesium. And yes I’m probably imbalanced with excess potassium. Typically I don’t check ph but recently retested my well water and it’s 5.8 but with the silica it’s 6.6 on the nose. I’m with you on the contrary bitch part - seems to be a reality in several areas of my life now :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks Celt! Just watered up with mg and going dry for spell then we will see what develops
