Viparspectra Redux: GDB's Serenity Grow

So I don't think the EWC had much, if anything, to do with the leaf problem. I think it was the two crunchy ones needed more CalMag.

Anyone have any thoughts about my diagnosis?
I try not to use CalMag or epsom salts in later flower. My experience is that when they yellow from the top with sugars is that they want more food or a little less light. Once it starts it is hard to stop. This is just my experience.

I've got mine under a 500 watt light. It doesn't seem to mind a bit! :Rasta:
First off happy Sunday brother hope everything's glorious you enjoy yourself today stay healthy and green! That's awesome one more question about that what distance is the light from them plants? And also what percentage of it are you using of it right now? I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem that I had and wasn't for sure if it was light stress or something with the dirt or nutrients.

Highya GDB,

I had a similar problem this year, in a large SIP. 3 ladies started consuming the fans early. I applied Cal/Mag and slowed it down. I applied it again, and slowed it down even more. They finished with a few green fans near the top. I don't know why deficiencies, but I'll add extra Calcium to the soil next year. Happy Smokin'

Why do you cut out the CalMag and Epsom Salts in late flower? Affect on taste?

That what I experienced too Stinker. Once it started it was hard to stop.

Cal Mag FTW

Congrats on the harvest and sorry for the issues! I remember when you started the grow. I feel old 😂

Nick
Thanks Nick. That can't all go smoothly!

I'm using a Viparspectra KS5000. I am currently running it at 100% at about 16 inches above the plants, per Viparspectra's recommendation.

Hope this helps.

Well it sure does brother I got there xs 3000 pro which recommends pretty much the same. So that tells me that me and regrowths discussion that it most definitely wasnt the light that was causing the issue with my plants. You've helped me out greatly brother I appreciate that have a good rest of your Sunday.

Glad I could help out Marcus. I think these lights are so efficient that the plants will need CalMag at some point in the grow (and maybe a healthy dose of it)!

Congrats on the harvest GDB the buds look Great !
Thanks a bunch Smoke!

When I reported the Slurricane takedown I meant to include trich pics from her last day but forgot to post them. I'll take the opportunity to do it here:

Very little amber, which may turn out to be my new normal.

Thank you brother you just clarified my problem thank you so much that's exactly what I thought was going on with mine too much light means they need extra calcium and mag you just solve the puzzle for me!

In later flower I try to give only what will make a difference and that the plants can use. I don't think you can effect much change in a Mag deficiency that late in flower.
If close to the strong light they could need more food or more distance from the light.

Thanks Stinker. :) I back off on the CalMag+ too but I've been doing it because, i suspect too much in late flower may affect the taste.:hmmmm: I grew some beautiful Black Domina a few years ago, that had a somewhat bitter taste that reminded me of CalMag+ smell. I'd fed full strength to harvest. No objective proof, just suspicion.

Hello growers.

It's Flip + 33 for the Phase II group.

Thankfully, there's nothing to report. The girls are just plugging along at the moment, slurping up water with no issues.

It's fun observing them grow because the Sour G (front left) is so different from the 2 Fat Bastards. The Sour G is spindly and sports popcorn-like buds while the FBs are bushy girls with more substantive, heavier buds developing.

Hey @marcus611a, per your request, here's a close-up pic of a branch from the Sour G.

In the 4x4 tent, the Serenity group is down to a single remaining plant, the Forbidden Fruit. She's on her Flip + 78.

I scoped her last night and she's about ready for takedown.

I'll be scoping her quite often during the week. I don't want a bunch of amber to "sneak up" on me!

--------------------------

Say cloudy w/a few meatballs , hope it changes the game in a positive way ! :volcano-smiley:
I like that, "cloudy w/a few meatballs!"

Extra sauce please! :)
Congratulations on those great looking Slurricane colas! Not a single sign of larf there and trimmed up nice and tight. :welldone:

Phase 2 looks terrific too, as does the slowly fading FF. I'm glad I only missed good stuff the past couple of days.
Thanks Shed. Yeah, there was no larf on the Slur. And I see what you meant about the Sour G. She requires constant inspection of her lower regions because she puts out a lot of those little sucker buds. 🧐

---------------------------

That's all I've got.

Thanks for your time.

PEACE

At this many days in, it will be fun watching the bud fill in between those nodes on the tall stalks. :cheesygrinsmiley: :bong:

Highya GDB,

Love those trichome pictures! A good bit of ambers, but one pic has a lot of clear ones. Wonder what's going on there? Makes it hard to know when to harvest if the standard is always changing! I see what you mean - the difference between the FB's and Sour G. I grew a Gorilla Glue this year, and she was the smallest/shortest one. all the rest towered 7 ft+. So much difference between strains. Love those trichome shots! Happy Smokin'
