Vick074-OG Kush Last Run in CocoSoil-CO2-1KHPS-5X5Tent-with Porta Scrogs!? Porta Wha?

Re: Vick074-OG Kush Last Run in CocoSoil-CO2-1KHPS-5X5Tent-with Porta Scrogs!? Porta

Looked into it.
For the money?
It's a really good deal.
Plus it has everything that you'd want it for.
As much as I hate everything that's not Canon, yeah, I'm a bit bias.
I think it would be a perfect camera for you.

I just got the fuji S4200 24x- wide 24mm-14 mp-3" lcd-HD movie. Amazon 130.00. Just have to play with it for awhile to learn. Plants are looking great. :peace:

I second Vick's recommendations.

I'm a Nikon guy, but I own an old Canon 35mm film camera, and have used both. Seriously, the thing that pushed me to switch to Nikon was the direction of their zooms. Canon and Nikon are the opposite, ie twist to the right zooms in, left zooms out. When I bought my DSLR, I demoed a Canon and a Nikon. I instinctively twisted the zooms the way that works with Nikon. With the Canon, I got it wrong everytime. Seems like a minor thing, but it was enough for me to go with Nikon. I also have a slight bias towards their lenses anyway, so the zoom direction was just the final push. Fuji makes good stuff. I think the main downside is lens availability. Nikon and Canon make some of the, arguably, best lenses on the market, and you will not find them with a Fuji mount.

Even as a Nikon guy, I also think he's right on the money recommending the Canon G1x series. It's an advanced/expert level point and shoot. Vick is absolutely right that most pros keep one in their pocket all the time. If you're just getting into photography, a G12 will likely do everything you want it to, and might even be easier to use.

I lost my DSLR kit in the move last year, and I killed my little P&S on the PCT in 2011. :( I plan to buy a new camera sometime this year, and the G12 is at the top of my list. I do want another DSLR too, but the G12 satisfies almost all my criteria, whereas the DSLR fails in one important criteria, it won't fit in your pocket. :)

totally!!
I don't want to sound like a Canon snob, or deter jon from making his decision..
But the G11 will do everything that my 1D mark II will do other than run at 8 frames per second.
Unless you're shooting a lot of sports photography on the side, shooting sequences of your plants blowing in the wind is unnecessary IMO.
Easy white balance setting, great in camera image stabilization, good wide angle, good zoom, can even shoot wide open at f2.8 which is great for getting those shallow depth of field shots.
And like you said, it fits in your pocket!
One stop shop!
Ok Canon, where's my cheque!:cheesygrinsmiley:

I was looking at that fuji because I found it brand new for $310 and its $600 from Fuji.It has everything you just said and full 1080p video, from the reviews Ive watched and read most people say that the fuji takes the best pics of them all and has a wicked macro setting. the one im looking at is the HS30 its suposed to be the best all in one cam theyve made to date.It is bigger but im a big guy so I think it will fit well. I know you know alot about cameras, i would really appreciate it if you could look into that cam a bit and let me know what you think?

Hi jon705. Hope you don't mind my 2 cents worth, however pleas listen to Vick074. Fiji Cameras are no where near the level of a Canon or Nikon. I have one of their cameras and nothing really fits right. I have used it maybe 3 times and now it's in a drawer. Even a cheap Canon or Nikon is much better.

Hey Vick - just dropping by to catch up. I agree on the camera stuff in the sense that I love my Canon! I've had a few decent cameras, but I would have a difficult time giving up my loyalty to Canon at this point. Though, it's a few years old, and I'm sure there are a lot of other good ones out there.

You've been posting some amazing pictures lately brother! :goodjob:

Thank you very much my friend!
X, I actually used to have a Canon 20D with a vertical grip.
They're great cameras, and are available used for a few hundred bucks now..
Pretty much like everything digital/electronic, give it 3 years and it's worth maybe half what you paid for it..
I might dust off the old A1, and run roll of slide film through it. If I remember correctly, I have a 2.8 macro lens for it that would make some beautiful images..
