Xl, by coco I mean pure coco from inland, Cocogro. I only added about 10 percent grow rocks. Pretty much a larger version of hydroton.
I water with 5.7 though, so it goes through the ranges of 5.7 up to 7 as the lime corrects the ph.
You should try putting a soil ph meter in your coco just to see what it reads.
I can see how the lime probably helps offset a bit of the potassium inherent in coir - which is what I'm doing with cal/mag. I guess I don't understand the part about lime "correcting" the PH, because while 7 is considered neutral it's a bit high for ideal PH when growing cannabis in coir, at least as I understand it. As long as it works well for you though - that's what's important. I'm no coir expert - but love using it.
