Nice resin production for two weeks in. I'm excited to see the results you achieve once you leave coco/soil behind. Will you be growing this OG again or selecting a new strain to work with?

I think I'm going to do one more Coco grow and then we'll see on the switcharoo to DWC. Having a hard time letting go! HA!
Since this particular strain of OG has had PM since the very start, I want to try and introduce some fresh strains. I managed to get a few seeds out of last grow's OG's. And wanted to germ them and try and start again to find a new mother. Some just popped yesterday. Also have 10 reg Ambrosia beans of which 7 have broke ground the other day as well. Then I'm going to be getting some clones of White Lightening in the near future as well.
So planning a 3 strain grow with:

-OG Kush
-Ambrosia
-White Lightening

switching to dwc wont meam more resin production early on but it will mean more branching and more bud if u can dial it in bro. Im sure u'll have no probs though.

Hey, Vick, you should test out one plant with pure rockwool before trying out DWC. Water it by hand, but treat it like hydroponics, 5.5-5.8 ph water.

Check out this guys closet grow with pure rockwool, hand watering, nothing but the three part flora seriss GH, and a 600w lamp. Over 1 pound for one plant.

It's why I am going to grow in pure rockwool next grow. Except I am going to grow in an airpot with a light track system 4 for $100.

Its actually trickier to grow in rockwool than dwc. Mainly because of the unstability of the ph, which the guy mentions in his video. If u use a recirculating nutrient which is high in chelates the dwc ph will be stable. i set my ph then i dont need to adjust it again. Thats with weekly res changes. Dont get me wrong, ive had fantastic grows with rockwool, but from an ease point of view, dwc is far simpler and produces excellent yields and quality.

Yeah, I've seen that video a few times, and I gotta agree with C on this one LEDRF..
If you listen to the whole video he says that he's NOT going to grow in Pure Rockwool again, because PH is just too unstable. Too much lime in the medium.. Instead he's switching to Coco fiber and Coco crutons, which I think would be more hydroponic than rockwool. I personally dislike Rockwool.
Getting a pound per light is pretty much the norm. But if you plan on using a light track, you won't get as good results as if you had stationary lights. That guy is getting a pound per light because of just that, there's a light over each plant (all the time). If I was ever to use a track system, it would have to be using minimum 1000 watt HPS's in each light on the track, to really make it worth it.
I'd suggest you consider Coco before going with Rockwool.
But of course these are just my opinions.

Vick - you'll have no trouble running a hydro system whenever you go that route (if?).

Success with DWC is primarily about keeping good nutrient temps, proper aeration, and keeping PH within a specific range. If you can already feel confident that you can do those things -- you're set!

Sorry Scopopulus, I never took any photos of the PM on my plants, as I didn't want to let it get out of control.
As soon as I'd see a spot, I'd carefully yank the leaf and remove it from the room completely.
They look like little white fuzz spots on the leaves.
Here's a photo of one of the Maple leaves that's from the infested tree in my back yard.

Yikes! I'd hate to know I had that stuff in my yard! I realize I probably have all sort of pathogens in the flora in my yard, but I don't know about them. Ignorance is bliss!

Do you take measure to make sure you don't bring that into your grow room? If so, what measures?

Yeah it's unfortunate for sure,
but it is what it is.
I run a passive intake exclusively now, using my house as a filter, since I discovered it was in our neighborhood.
Preventative sprays, plucking, and managing RH are pretty much all I can do.
It's a bummer because I plan on putting a few plants in my back yard this summer.
I'm going to have to make sure whatever strains I put out there are PM free to start with, and have been boosted with Silica additives to help fight it off.
Might even ask the landlord to spray that tree out back on his dime, posing the fact that it's not healthy for my family to be breathing in those spores..
