Hey, I've been meaning to ask you about the ladybugs.
Never tried them before, but I know a few shops that have them in my area.
Would they work for fungus Gnats too? or are they more for mites?

Looking in... they look so beautiful but are being attacked!!! I have all kinds of mold issues. In my feeding link below are two products you should check out the mold spray and the pro-tekt, together they have been very effective (I only spray in veg.) The silicon makes much better stem and leaf structure and seems to help them hold their own against the mold.

edit - Fugus gnats, I hate oh yeah HATE those f'ing things. I am starting to gain the upper hand doing this "I have been able to control it with mosquito dunks, predatory nematodes and sticky yellow cards but I have to keep on it " ... I just saw you read that when I copied, pasted just in case

I wanted to get some of that pro-tekt but I picked up AN Rhino Skin the newer release. IDK Y but I think they pretty much work about the same but pro-tekt is cheaper. Im exchanging out alot of my products I use now for cheaper ones that may do the same.

Yeah it's been a constant battle with the PM just because of where I live.
I only spray in veg too, but this early on in flower I think I'll be ok.
Tried PM wash and the stuff sucks ass. I had PM back 2 days later!
I was looking for an organic alternative and figured it'd work, but it doesn't, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The only thing that seems to keep the PM away for me, is a little bottle I bought from my local hydro store.
They make it themselves, won't tell anyone what's in it. 2.5 ml's per litre of water.
The shit smells like jiffy markers, and is pretty heavy duty.

As for the Fungus Gnats, I've been using mosquito dunks and sticky traps as well.
But was wondering if ladybugs would eat them!
I don't have them that bad, and they're pretty much "controlled" for the most part.
One thing I've noticed is when using Airpots compared to normal, Gnats are much more of a problem to keep an eye on due to all the open medium.

Can you give me a little more information about predatory nematodes Buck??
Or anyone else for that matter?
I've heard a bit about them, but would like to hear from someone that's used em before.

Do silicon products like Rhino Skin, really make the leaves more resistant to PM??
Trying something I can feed internally would be much better than spraying when in flower.
If so I might have to give some a try..
nobody wants moldy budage!

Sure, they are easy!!, natural and they work!! I get 'em at the urban garden center. They come on a sponge. You chuck the sponge in water (I use a 5 gallon container) leave it for a little while, give it a shake and water at lights out. That's it, they do the rest. They are tiny microscopic worms that feast on gnat larvae :cheesygrinsmiley:

Curso just messaged me about using Yucca Extract!
Although I've heard of humans using it, I've never thought about what it could do for our plants!

Thanks for that Curso, that could be the key to wiping out Gnats for good.

Really good advice with fungus gnats here. I have the issue with my vegitbles now and had the issue with MJ girls before. Used SNS products and they went away. Im not a huge fan of root drenching but....... The sticky traps work great to.

I know they work on mites, mine are gone. They also eat aphids, but I am not sure about gnats although I think the Hot Shot in the tent did them in. It also was killing my ladybugs, so took them out of the tent and have them elsewhere in the grow room. I still have a couple crawling around from leaf to leaf that didn't die, I think they will probably run out of things to eat and will die. I understand if you soak a raisin in water and let it puff up and slit it with a razor blade to expose its juice they will feed on that also...dunno for sure...my first round with the ladybugs.:cheesygrinsmiley: Hope this was help!

Yucca Extract, another natural organic product stimulates the beneficial bacteria on plant surfaces and in the soils. Yucca's saponin action makes plant cells more permeable to nutrient and water uptake. Works great for Fungus Gnats and Yucca can be taken to detoxify a smoker in about 20 days so they can stop smoking with no withdrawal symptoms. I use it in my tea's and have no bugs at all.

Sounds like a must have. I dont think theyll have something like that for free though. But you have a MAC so I would try the app store first. They have all kinds of stuff for MAC. I found a script writing program for free. I like to write books and movie scripts and I found a studio and beat maker also :)

Nope. I never had a gnat problem. Oh actually I did when it came to me mixing my organic soil with coco. It was around for like 3 weeks but then they left after I start letting my soil dry completely out
