Venturi’s Northern Lights Auto DWC 2022 Remix

We’re about 10 days from 57 days of flower I believe. I can tell they’re finishing by the change of the colors of the fan leaves, at least I believe. Looks like fall.
Res change day starts today. Tuesday Wednesday Thursday is how I’ve got them spread out for res. Just makes it easier to run the r/o. Thing takes a while. If I get a late start and don’t feel like the change at midnight I just let it bubble all night. Haven’t changes the nutes lineup really in a long while. They’re getting only 4ml of liquid kool bloom per 3 gallons, but man does that stuff make the ph drop, and it takes a while to settle in. Only since I started using that stuff can I find my bucket as low as 5.0 ph. At this stage I’ve got it under my eye however. They don’t sit that low long if they get that low.

So I got a new cheap ph pen and decided to calibrate 2/3 of my pens. Well. That started a wormhole. Pens cal’d and I was in the Middle of doing a rez’s change. I accidentally drop like 8 oz of ro water in the res changing bucket. The ph gets whacked out and I decide to reset the bucket. Back to ro water. I get all the nutes in there (the exception to lst weeks res change was an added 2 ml of liquid cool bloom; total. So I was at 4ml/3gal now it was 6ml for 3 gallons or 2ml /gal.

The ph seemingly……… was at 6 automatically.
Previously, it would ph to about 5.3 after all the nutes were added..

So it’s sat for 24 hours now. The 2 calibrated pens are reading 6, the tad more expensive 3rd pen is reading 6.2 now. So I guess everything is In allowable parameters in my eyes. Tuesdays res change is about to commence after the last addition. Z7 part 2.

Still truckin’. 3 perhaps may be finished this week? Just looking at these fan leaves tell me it should be done soon. What do you guys think? I’ll work towards some good tri’ pics this week to hopefully better judge their proximity to Harvest. I believe Friday will be day 57 of flower which is said to be this strains average harvest day. Thinking ahead, I think my vacation from having babies going will be a short respite. 2-3 months for summer should do. October will bring cool weather and i plan to do a little traveling this summer.

I’ve got this special hanger waiting patiently! I think it will be great!

I'm fascinated. How many weeks are your plants since germination. Maybe 15 or 16? When I started growing Autos 2 years ago I was told they all finish around 12 or 13 weeks. I'm now thinking that was incorrect information. Hats off man, your garden is looking beautiful. I just sprouted 4 Autos for this summer's garden and will be leaving them to flower longer this year. Cheers :thumb:

Appreciate it! Maybe the far one just isn’t getting enough light I don’t k ow what it is.

I germinated feb 1 I believe, so this should be week 16? I suppose it matters when they actually start to flower perhaps. I don’t think I flowered until April first. I was hoping for a quicker turnover but slow and steady wins the race I guess haha. I’m just hoping I cut them at the correct time. I think I’m correct to assume they’re pretty close at this point yeah?

i did forget to mention I changed the light schedule a tad. I was running the light 20/4 now 18/6. Mainly I changed it because the dark hours were interfering with the hours that the light is at 100% which is overnight. Now the ladies enjoy 4 more hours of 100% light, and they sleep during the heat of the day. I’m still nearing the 10 degrees differential between light and day. Not sure that’s what’s enhancing this blue/ purple color or that’s just the strain.

So, what do the trichomes look like to you? Lots of amber now?

Well I went and double checked with the 100/200x scope on some of the farther in the back buds. I think there is some ambers but more so on certain buds than others. I think I’ve got some foxtails as well. I believe I’ll go ahead and cut some down at the end of the week. Not as much amber as I’d hoped, specifically because they’re so close to the light I figured it would finish some premature or quicker than others. Got some real good beauties in here though! I can’t wait to chop a few of those that look about my forearm length. I don’t mind cutting layer by layer so I can let some of the lower or outer buds mature. 3 more days until flower day 57 so I’m pretty sure they’ll start maturing quicker now.

Well my buddy convinced me to take a sample to check her out (number 3).
Now that I can see her up close I’m pretty sure she’s ready for chop. Lots of ambers on this baby. I hung this one up and will likely chop half if not all of 3 this weekend. Pretty happy! The colors look great too. I’ve got some foxtail action on others but yeah. What do you guys do with foxtails? Trim them? Keep them?

Woohoo , fantastic buds my friend.
Trim them as usual.
And I made concentrates from the trim.
But you can do what ever you need with it.

Stay safe

From what I've read Foxtails are only a cosmetic issue. Caused more in some varieties or hybrids than others, and is sometimes triggered by stress on the plant, perhaps even a temporary thing you corrected. It all comes out of the grinder looking the same though

Two years ago I left a couple branches growing for another 2 weeks to see what more amber would be like. :blunt: Think this is going to be a great harvest for you. Cheers

Well I took the big bopper down! These under the scope pics are from the smaller one I clipped yesterday which proved to golden up well. I just read on the seeds site “Northern Lights is ready for harvest when the resin coating the numerous buds is mostly gold in colour.” Well I’m going to pick and choose when to clip the next ones. The first clip was a good one, not sure if the bopper couldn’t have gone another week but I’ll look at her under the scope tomorrow to decide to clip more or not

I did some more clipping today. They’re hanging in a box for a week or so then on to canning jars. I’ve got a temp of 70 in there currently. Trying not exceed 74f. The humidity of outside the box is probably around 50. I left a bit of the leaves on most of these thinking that will give me an extra day or two of drying. From what I gather it’s most important to not let them dry out in under 5 days or less. I’m shooting for a week to 10 days. Happy Friday

I’ve got the first bud clipped In a jar now. I just tasted it a little. She seemed a little dry in the jar but I realize there’s a lot of air in there just her.. the other clippings were from Friday predominantly and I’ll probably jar them in a few days. My humidity is a bit low, I think these others will dry slower however because they have leaves on them the singular bud was leafless. It tasted pretty good but ya need to cure it of course. When I cut the rest of them I plan to just cut the whole plant and almost hang as is. I will clip some fan leaves first but I want the drying to take as long as possible and when I cut I won’t worry about having to keep humidity low for growing plants. The one in the corner will likely just get tossed, kinda sad but summer is here and I’ve gone about as long as I’d like on these babies. I’m pretty proud coming this far with a few trials and tribulations. This being my 3rd grow, but first to fruition I’m pretty happy with it. I’m not going to worry too much about it drying too quick some of the other buds are super dense and should take a week easy. Cheers

Today is June first and I started February first. Today I rolled my first joint of the northern lights 2022 remix! It wasn’t bad, the smell reminded me of uk cheese. Flavor was good not harsh, and the high was relaxing. Haven’t gone through much cure however so it’s only going to get better. The hanging ones aren’t quite ready which is a good sign. I’ll probably pull those down Friday then all that’s left is everything in the tent.
