I have always been fascinated with cannabis. I started smoking at a very young age. I have taken time off on a few occasions for various reasons. I started growing to supply myself and the wife. I do not have as much time to spend with the girls as I would like. With my lights running at night it makes it hard to get the time in. I have not aspired to breed but I think it could be fun. I have found some really nice males that I have had to chop unfortunately. The best of which was a Huckleberry Kush from Dynasty. I kept him in a 1 gallon pot of Doc's soil for over 3 months and it was one of the healthiest plants in veg. It was short, compact, had nodes on top of nodes, and smelt louder than most of the girls I had in flower! I have had two huck Diesel males that were really nice as well but not as nice as that huck kush.

I would love to be able to buy 5 packs of regs. i am not a pheno hunter due to plant limits and just not having room. It does suck paying 100-150 for 10 seed when you may only ever run 2 or 3. I think most breeders do not offer the option for a few reasons. the ones you stated are sure to be a part of it. The other side of it is that the packaging isnt really best suited for so few seeds and they would have to buy even more packaging materials. Which would drive up costs of the single seeds or smaller packages at least. If you want some nice genetics on the cheap you should get in touch with Electro gypsy. He has been breeding his own strains for a bit now and has some interesting crosses. Sweet Sue has grown out one or two. He has a website but I cannot put it up here. If interested in it message me and I will give it to you.

I think you made the right choice. I have no experience with either breeders but i have seen a good amount of complaints about Crop King from members here even. I know one of them grew out Crop Kings Blueberry and hated it. Lots of issues. The plants were super finicky and took forever to flower. They were not a real Blueberry. I have heard tell that they just buy seeds from random people that "breed" and sell them as whatever. I added you on IG. It is crazy to watch what these breeders are putting out. In House is more expensive than I like for their fems, but they are producing some of the frostiest strains I have ever laid my eyes on! If you want really nice American Genetics at a reasonable price check out Dynasty genetics. Their Pineapple Fields is probably the nicest plant I have in my garden at the moment. I do have a Slurricane from In House that may sit next to it when it is chopped. Side note, check out JinxProof. He sells his own seeds and does 6 packs for $40 each. He has the 9# Hammer which won the Michigan cannabis cup for best Indica!

The names are crazy. I actually got to name a strain for Cabin Fever Seed Breeders. I say that but really they chose my suggestion out of the ones offered to them. The cross is Purple Punch x Animal Mints Bx1, I offered up Donkey Punch as the name and he went with it! A lot of American strains have roots in OG Kush and now Girl Scout Cookies. Aside from that the building blocks lead back to the same places as Dutch genetics. There is some landrace from south America thrown in the mix and Afghani shows up quite a bit. It is harder to find the original building blocks of some strains especially when some are unknown by any but those that bred them. OG Kush has an obscure make up with lots of rumors about what it truly is. The same with the East Coast Sour Diesel and Chemdawg. The Girl Scout Cookies carries this on. If you want a nice American strain check out Dynasty's Platinum Huckleberry Cookies. They took their Huckleberry male and crossed it to the Platinum Girl Scout Cookies cut. I have yet to run it but there are very few phenos that show up in the gene pool and most will give you a good idea of what the parents have to offer.

Hey Van, i was looking at lights and looked at perfect sun and optic 4 brand. I have 2 Cobs going but it's taking forever for this dude in Canada to make my 2 more so i may get one of these. You guys seem like you like perfect sun? Better than Optic? Thanks Bro!

Hey BudBoy! Sorry to say that I really don't have any experience with Optic 4 brand so I can't make a comment one way or another. I can only speak about the Dwarf Star and I think its a great light for a 2x2 or even two of them in a 2x4. I have mine in a 4x4 with another equivalent light and its just not enough for me in that space so I will be most likely moving the Perfect Sun to the 2x2 for veg.

I put my grinder away.. have to let buds sit out a day or so to get crispy enough to smoke/vape. First time I put a Lab bud in the grinder... I think its still in there!

I think the prices for the high end EG seeds are a little too high... too high for my cheap ass for sure. I can consistently pull 5 zips dried off of the Lab I'm running now. I have clones and S1 seeds. I have too many seeds now.... I think I have a paper bag full of EG gear, all Starfighter genetics I think.
 
Veg Day 1 Update

Morning everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. The girls turned 1 week old yesterday so today begins their first official day in veg. As you can see from the pictures.....there is a big difference between the two plants at this point. Nukehead #2 is on fire while Nukehead #1 is kind of just doing its thing. I looked this morning and I am seeing the roots starting to hit the side of the clear solo cup so I know that the growth is getting ready to explode. I am not sure why Nukehead #1 isn't developing its next set of leaves. They are known for producing mutants on a regular basis supposedly so who knows. As of now its just a waiting game.

I gave the seedlings a small drink of ACT. I brewed some EWC and Kelp tea for my regular household plants (1 cup EWC, 1/2 teaspoon of raw Kelp to 2 gallons of water so its a light tea) and gave both plants an ounce or two of tea. Might be a little earlier than normal but its a weak tea so I am willing to take that chance. I can tell you that Nukehead #2 seems to have enjoyed the tea quite a bit.

I can assure you I wouldn't have bought those pricey EG seeds if bitcoin wasn't so kind to me over the last 6 months.

Super envious of this. That is awesome that you have a paper bag full of their gear! I have a small tupperware container of all my seeds but there is a decent mix of breeders. Good on you for making some S1 seeds. It would be interesting to see if they show similar phenos of what you S1's!

Give them plenty of veg if you want a good yeild. My opinion is they dont do much growing after flip from what i am seeing. Definately a strong indica leaning plant growth wise. Maye make up for it in fatties tho, too early to tell.

Well, the mother in law has already refused it because of what it is, and the sister in law is already into it. But when i get another harvest in March I'll see what I can do to help her out.
