Urban Achievers Inner City Seeds of Promise

Alright folks. I installed the Dwarf Star this morning. I didnt have any hanging thingamajigs to hang my fusion pro. I also didnt have time to rig it up another way. So the plants got a direct meet and greet with the new light. I love it, ice easy light to work under, not a fan of purple at all. However the camera captured the various light spectrum and these are a bit purple or weird. I will figure out the white balance with this light.

So for contests, and Instagram uploads, the preferred method is square.

But I prefer the full size shot. What do you prefer?

Nice pics man! Trying pulling the tint down into the green then decrease the yellow for more blue. That's what I been doing works ok for my setup but I got different lights than you.

Thank you Agemon! Yeah I havent had a chance to white balance this new light, lost my grey card and forgot how to do it lol, and I am no longer using a decent program so its going to be a pain. To my eyes the light was pretty normal/white. We will either figure it out or I will use a different light when taking photos lol

Way late, I see its standing room only so I will stand back here next to wall. I want to go back to page one and read this. Looks like a great grow, very well documented from what I seen.

Thank you both, big photo update tomorrow I think. Always take my time on my days off. Snapped a quick picture this morning though. Still not gaining much size but we are going to double the light tonight. So the next week or two should work out well timing wise for "the fattening".

You can see quite a difference in colours with the DS. The Amnesia is very happy and healthy green.

You should start a photography thread brother.....I need to pick your brain!!

You should start a photography thread brother.....I need to pick your brain!!

Yeah I have been tossing around a few ideas, as I would want to gather all the best photographers and make it the ultimate thread, but I havent yet for a number of reasons. Not winning a contest yet being one lol. I need guys/gals like Agemon, imtoasted, keltic blue, amy gardner, bobrown, Swag, and about a half dozen others to join me.

I envision each person giving a bit of an intro, what they grow, what camera gear the have, etc.

I also see each person submitting an image or two, talk about it, what makes it work, how they shot it, etc. Topics on basics to more advanced stuff. I just dont want to bite off more than I can chew or step on toes.

So feel free to pick my brain here or in mortys photographic journal. I plan on posting my camera gear and process there eventually.

Good day to you 420. Its a day off for me and that means a bad ass update. I am going to break it up into a few parts though.

I installed both flower lights last night and they are around 15" from the plants. Well I put the fusion pro in and moved them both around to distribute the weight properly. So we have around 430 actual LED watts drawing for a 3x3.

Hoping it starts a snowstorm. But if not for this round next round will be fat and sassy. They are all slowing down on the water intake. I think this increase in light and warmth will be a boost.

I dialed in the photo colour a bit better. I will touch on that in the next part.

Next up we have the white widow freebie. Almost everyone would have culled this thing. Its small but I think it will provide some good hard nugs. The penetration of the fusion pro is pretty good, just not sure about the spectrum coverage.

I trust everyone is properly medicated. I know I feel great with this Voodoo. Uplifting but also takes away some minor aches and pains.

This is part 2 of todays update as it deserves its own post. If you have a dslr and cant figure out how to take out the purple. Here it is. If you have any questions send me a pm.

Ok so I got a custom white balance set up in my camera now. I have it correcting the purple colour of the dwarf star. I took a photo of a grey object under the light. Most camera bag interiors are grey for that reason. Then set the custom white balance based on that grey image. The camera is told that the pink shit in front of it is actually a grey card. It adjusts. Cameras take in thousands of times more information than our eyes.

Its not perfect. I have a proper grey card coming in the mail. $9. But I press one button and my blurple pics get adjusted to what you see here today. You also dont lose any detail trying to correct it with software.

The purple and orange you see here is just the plant being stunning in this soil and the cold temps.

Well so far its been a fantastic day. Enjoying some fine cannabis, editing photos, and chilling to satellite radio. This is part 3 of todays update. Featuring the lovely Amnesia OG. This is where the white balance correction is really evident. The blue dream and green crack are actually showing too much colour lol.

I am confident this Amnesia Og freebie is going to be a saving grace yield wise. Blue dream may also give me some decent amount too but the green crack are going to be a light and wispy potent crack habit waiting to happen. The frost is so crazy on the GC it makes me think it would be a perfect compliment to a heavier indica in a bubble hash. Giving you that 2 hour euphoria as well as that calm indica vibe to temper the anxiety lol.

Well, you weren't joking, that DSLR is really doing a sweet job capturing the beauty of your garden! You ought to get some of those purple pics jnto the purple plant photo contest I'm doing in my purple series journal. Some seriously beautiful shots there bro. There's even a little prize at the end .

Wow I really gotta learn this stuff one of these days
its pretty easy with the right tools. Instructions are right in the manual I think. Its a technique that can be used in any weird light. White balance with a grey card and your set.
