Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

ohhh i thought when u said the other day about u had it done in 2 days xD then ya shes fine lol i wont need to take it off or move it after this cuz shes where it shiould be, Question is it a good idea to trim the bad leafs off to make room for the new baby leafs on the stem?

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

hi mate, alls looking well, from what i can tell with the lst, all your trying to do is keep the plant at the same height so all the little side branches grow up towards the light, then all the side branches then become the top of the plant, instead of the tip of the plant growing towards the light the whole of the plant is growing towards the light, so you bend the top over and keep training the plant around the pot so all the side branches and branches lower down the main stem start to grow upwards towards the light, basically all you trying to do is grow the plant sideways instead of letting it grow vertical, i am tempted to try this myself with mine, but ive heard different things about the yield because instead of getting one big main cola you end up with loads colas that wont be as big as the main one, but you should end up with more yield as the smaller braches and bud sites are growing towards the light, it has its pros and cons. but i think im going to try it with my big bud and leave the others to grow natural.

as for topping the plant to give you 2 main colas, what ive heard about this is that you top the plant to double the top buds so you end up with 2, but the 2 buds are a lot smaller then having 1 main cola, so in theory your not ending up with bigger yield your just getting 2 smaller colas. so i need to read into it more before i decide what method im going to use if any, i think im going to lst the big bud as its growing the fastest but for the others ill have to decide what to do whether to let them grow as is or do anything with them id prefer to let these grow i think and try different methods with the clones because then that way ive got something to compare each method 2, without knowing a sort of base yield from letting them grow natural i wont be able to decide if what im doing is increading yield or not,

but you plants are looking good, i may start training the big bud in the next day or 2, but the stem dont have much give in it it seems pretty solid so will need training slowly to stop it snapping the stem

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

Well if your trying to grow more bushy and more nodes instead of one tall big kola do LST im doing it to experiment, Oh and heres the Insect killer i use thats friendly on plants

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

yeah lol im just not gonig to do Nutes till Bloom xD i mean mystery is more healthyer than Unknown and she only gets half the amount of light that Unknown gets. shes on a 15 hour light atm natural sun

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

I would leave the bad leaves as long as possible. Once they come off the plant with barely a tug on them (and they come off clean, no wound to the plant!), then you should remove them. You don't want them rotting or something like that and bringing a disease to the plant or being a venue for bugs to enter.

But leave them because if your plant has issues, those fan leaves are your buffer. Not enough nutrients, let's say? It eats from the fan... If you start removing those, all you're going to do is spread the problem to other fan leaves if your plant still needs the energy in them. You won't run into needing more light to your lower branches until you've got a huge bush and you're most likely in flower (after the stretch, your bush will be huge :)).

As far as LST, you're doing good. After you pull the top back for a few days you notice how it turns itself back towards the light? When mine did this, I kept moving the string higher up the stem on a daily basis and In just a few weeks time (maybe less), you'll see some encouraging side shoots pop up and start to grow and be as tall as the main plant. Then you'll tie those and pull them down and out like the main one.

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

okay i see what your saying, thanks for clarifying all that lol well should i leave the string there or try to move it on the two new nodes? cuz i can see some small leafs starting to pop out on the fan leafs on the lower area lol and i flushed her today so hopefully those leafs will start to look better?

Honestly, I'd say move it up to get more of a bend in the plant. It won't help you if you bend the plant once and then the top just grows with a bend in it but ends up being straight up and down with where the stem was before you tied it back.

But as it stands right now, enough time has not gone by to really notice the effects of your LST. Once you see those lower growths appear, they'll take a while to stretch up from the bottom to the top.

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

idk if Unknown will make it :/ she isnt lookin good at all only green is her new fan leafs rest are yellow with a bunch of brown black dots :/ and Mystery is starting to have leaf probs idk :/

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

I posted this once before. I I think the screen is just a hassle. Especially when you are going from a veg room to a flower room. ALL you ever need is a load of fishing sinkers and short peices of wire. I do not even top the plant. When the plant is 12" tall I ben it all the way over and wire it to the pot. ( I originally plant the clone or seed at one side of the pot). After the top bends back up the side branches get longer and I wire them to the pot. everything after that is as the tops get higher I use the sinker on a wire and keep bending the tops down with them, go according to the weight and what will hold the bend down after a couple mo. veggie.you will have ALOT of tops and takes up alot less space than you would think. I get 12 to 15 nice tops this way. The last thing is when you move to flower you can do away with alot of the sinkers and the plant stays that way. I do ok like this.and it keeps them low for lighting purposes. It' really not alot of work.

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

I am not discrediting anything. Just saying how I do it. But I will bet the 12 or more tops will be much larger than the 50 in the screen. I also veg for at lesat 7 weeks even if it is a flowering clone.

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic

well im just going to let unknown sit outside in the best spot and grow for a few days with out checking, if Mystery can do good in this weather and what not so can she it will just be 100% FLC kush :)

Re: Unknown strain Indoor/Outdoor, Soil 100% organic
