Undercurrent/Aeroponics Super System Advanced LED 800W Scrog - HGK - Chemdawg

great work! thanks for sharing, looks like a rocket scientist built it!:goodjob:

thanks trichomes and welcome , things arent starting as well as i would have liked but i'm determined to figure out my problem and get this show on the road. glad to have you along for the ride:)

Somewhere maybe the big auction site there was a digital camera that was for time lapse pictures of growing and I think it was under 100 bucks. Then again you get what you pay for lol. Time Lapse of his System and setup would be boss

thanks S1ing, I do want to get a better camera when i can and that time lapse does sound like a cool idea. I'll have to check it out.:)

Hey ronnie dont know much about undercurret areoponics but what i see looks really kool.I will be watching this grow for sure.:thumb:Good growing:high-five:

welcome ottothief , glad to have you along for the ride. thanks for stopping by

well HGK#1 is not looking good. i stopped at a hydro store to pick up some Heavy 16 Roots and asked them what they think and they said i'm overwatering. i have had the sprayers on constant but i did the same last grow with no problems. last grow i created a bennys explosion with the Heavy prime and the oxygen levels in the unit, caused fast ph swings. but the plants did great. so i added 40ml of Heavy Prime and some more Orca to try and create a mini explosion. PPMs were just 100 so i added 50ml of base to bump up. girls look really light green with the leds off. going to run sprayers one hr on one hr off to see if i'm overwatering. temps have been between 70-78f day or night. humidity has been between 40-65. ph has been 6.1 water temps 66-69f.

anyone have any ideas i would appreciate it:)

You don't have roots out of the net pots yet do you?

As I understand it, you have the mister under those net pots, and the net pots are full of rock. Based on that, I don't see how you're over watering them with rock. They have to have a tiny root system at that age. My first reaction to your pics was they look hot and/or dry. You're running LEDs and we know it's not your temps, so I think it's underwatering. How much water is getting inside that net pot? Again, these babies have tiny roots. Perhaps they aren't getting wet buried deep inside the rock?

The HGK's are not in the same unit, right? It looks like #1 and Skywalker OG are in the same bucket. The 2 HGK's look the worst, but it's probably not due to the bucket.

I'd try putting the mister on a timer too, but maybe you could do some manual top feeding for a few days?

It's tough troubleshooting issues with seedlings. They are so delicate! I hope you figure it out! :Namaste:

I swear I posted already... but anyway, the clawing is a sign of too hot of a solution. (Ppm wise not temp)

you are absolutly right. had about 155 and they were clawing up. dropped them down to 100 and today i see new growth. also add SEA GREEN which is beneificals and humic acid.

thanks canna brother :)

+reos for spot on diagnosis

hey Hiker , thanks for stopping by, at first i was running the water level too low and deep in the net cups wasn't getting wet enough. i fixed that and then they were still clawing and the tips were drying up . so i dropped my ppms from 155 to 100 then next day i saw new growth. today i dropped to 90 ppms probably should be more like 75. i know my nute stregths are going to be lighter with the undercurrent and i'm still too hot. well i knew there was going to be a learning process that comes with the new Hybrid system. i think they will recover fine . my veg will be shorter this time , want to keep the plants in check this time.

I'm trying to think up a modified tomato cage set up that would sit above the units . :)

thanks for stopping in and for the help

What about making a scrog frame for each unit (covering 2 plants each)?

With this system, you can't move the plants anyway, right?

thats a good idea, i was orginally going to build a two tierd screen that would cover both units and all four plants might be easier to build a screen for each unit. +reps bro:)

ppms are at 90 right now and i'm going to dilute to 80 ppms tonight.

:Namaste:

got the ppms down to 80. running temps at 79f day 70 night . keeping the humidity between 50-70 , res temps are 67-70f . lights on full power. hope this takes off now that i'm not cooking them anymore.

heya ronnie!

looking like a tricky start with the HGK's! the sour and the og are looking like storm troopers though! :cheesygrinsmiley: with my system, albeit a different hydro system and a different light system LOL, i started watering for 10-15 mins every 3 hours... yours being aero i understand the watering schedule would be different. i used a silica based product for stem, stalk and root development(.5ml/L=1/3 of total), an organic growth promotant(100ml/50L=1/4 of total) and an all organic kelp, fulvic and humic acid additive- with added hormones and vitamins(.5ml/L=1/3 of total) with no base what so ever... came out at about .5-.7 EC... seemed to work well, with no signs of def or burn.. i dunno if you can use that info at all in your system and im sure you have a solid plan anyhoo... just thought i'd add that as im growing a few HGK too and they seemed to respond well enough... got my fingers and toes crossed for your hGK's, hope they perk up soon!

hope to see them all pumping asap! all the best brother /|\

hey alk, thanks for the good info. i'm still trying to get this undercurrent system figured out. now the HGK'S look like they are making a turn around and the sour kush and skywalker og have took a turn for the worse. my ppms are 70 or .141 ec . i'm going to do a res change tomarrow and try no base and your additives and see if that helps. i also raised res temps to 70f
thanks for stopping by.

update
temps 70-80
hum 40-60
ph 5.9
ppms 50 or .1 ec
res temps 68-70f
sprayers on one hr on one hr off
system running at max water level total of 52 gals.
co2 levels 800-1200

did a res change two days ago and i see improvement in my poor cooked girls. followed alk's formula and went with 35 ml protekt silicon and 30ml floralicious plus as well as 75ml orca. my ro water goes through mineral filter and is 20ppms cal/mag. the protekt and floralicious plus came out to 20ppms and the other 10 ppms is ph adjuster to correct initial ph swing.

special thanks and plus reps to Alk for the recipe.

poor little babies

I'm glad to hear they are on the mend. They are just to delicate at that age!

It looks like there is some new growth, so hopefully they will start taking off now!

Yeah hiker i feel for them, but i chalk it up as a learning process. its nice to know that i wont be using as much nutes now. and running a 52 gallon res means less nute change outs and more stable ph . once the roots hit the water i'll be running about 47 gallons and it will auto fill to maintain that level. thanks for stopping by bro, this one is taking longer to get off the ground then i would have liked but once it does i'm sure it will be worth it.:)
:Namaste:

Nice setup! Subbed.

thanks liquid3p and welcome:)

IMO they a touch young for base nutes. i'd add... voodoo juice, cannazym and optional extras piranha with touch of carbo load. focus on getting them roots started than worrying whats happening on top. rarely will u see great roots and poor plants but we often see large plants with poor roots. at nutes wen they ask for them. just takes a little practice mate. wen i add first nute mix its usually at 0.6-0.8ec (not sure in ppm) thats with my water at 0.2 ec. i dont like mixing strains on one system as there can be huge diffs in the way they perform, thats not to say it cant work though.
