thanks to all the participants in my journal! It sure makes it fun.
I just snapped a few pics as the lights went off:
the idea is to get about 20 of these in a 5x5 space, under a single 100watt light. Very doable with a stable pheno. The plant is just 10 inches at the base....it's just one cola growing straight out of the container.
Here's the neighbor to the plant above. This one is Advanced Nutrient fed....so it's smaller and the buds are less dense and I've had to remove some yellow leaves.
Below is the Hempy/Advanced Nutrients. Since Osmocote isn't designed for perlite, you'd think the Advanced would beat it....nope.
Advanced soil foreground, soil/Osmocote in the background. I'd like to take some side by side pics with a backdrop, but the pots are now plumbed into the watering system and it would disturb the roots to move them. Come harvest time I'll have some numbers for everyone and some better comparison pics.
Yet another soil/osmo. This thing is going to be a resin ball in a few weeks.
Finally the other Hempy/Osmo.
don't let anyone tell you that nitrogen slows down or decreases flowering. That's pure rubbish.
Overfeeding plants will hurt them, so will underfeeding. Cannabis specific nutes are far too low in nitrogen for the flowering stage. I have no idea why this is done. It makes no sense at all.
Some folks fancy that the nitrogen makes the buds taste bad....but I don't agree. Overfeeding the plants makes them taste bad. Give them proper nutrition in small doses and they stay green and produce larger, better buds. At least that's what my garden shows witht the Osmocote.
Remember, this grow was 12/12 from seed. I'm going to get more than 2 ounces from once plant for sure, and likely an ounce and a half from several of the others. It's easy to sex them and you can pack more plants per square foot with this method. All in all, I like it very much.
