Tutankharmon - 400HPS - Soil Coco Mix - Grow

your not wrong about glr, its by far the best light schedule i have ever used, plants mature a whole lot quicker and grow a lot quicker, plus as your giving the plants 12-12 through veg with the 1 hour of light in the middle of the dark period then the flowering hormones are building up in the plant throughout veg so when you flip 12-12 for flower the plant flowers much quicker and seems to produce better results, i would be using glr but working on some autos so glr would only make them go hermie, once ive finished with the autos which i think will be this grow then ill flip back to glr as the saving you make in electric is great, plus the plants seem to grow really well under glr,

the only thing ill really add about glr is if your using a hid for veg then use a cfl for the 1 hour of light during the dark period so your not putting more strain on the ballast with the extra on and off times during veg, that seemed to work ok for me.

Good day to all! I hope it finds your garden groaning under a plethora of truly tantalising towers of medicinal meds!

Just wanted to aske if anyone uses the back building technique on their buds? Its simply once the colas are established and a good size, I cut the very tiniest part off centre top of bud. This sends the bud into back building giving bigger denser buds! Does anyone elso do this as haven't caught anyone doing it yet?

I saw this once before! A vid on you tube. The guy grew for American dispenserys and he would pinch the top off each bud to make the buds round n dense and not fox tail like. The jars he produced for the dispencery were full of almost round buds the size varying from computer mouse ball size to ping pong ball size

The back building I've always done since I began growing and yeah it gives you an even shaped cola that fattens up and seems to get real dense. I'll gladly journal exactly what I do when my girl is of age! It really works well in my opinion as last time with my big BV I tried leaving some bud sites alone and compared as she fattened up. very quickly it became clear that I should do the same with the remaining buds.

Hey LA......quick "Q"s..... 1) How long do you normally veg? 2) How often and when do bend them? 3) What do you yield (on average) Oz wise per plant? Cheers matey :)

Hey OZ, I normally veg for 4 weeks or thereabouts. I start lst form really young say when she is 3-4 inches tall maybe has 3 nodes by then. I do remove first 2 branches whilst she's a baby also though. Then I adjust tie's every couple of days at first. getting less as you go on. Once she is in a set shape and size you just fiddle adding other ties when needed for height and spacing. On plants using this style I get min on 10 oz but norm anything from 12 upwards. just over 14 on my BV last run. hope this helps!

That's brilliant LA. Really appreciate the advice. I've got my 18 little ladies due next week (Friday all being well) :). I've got AK and WW on order but been advised the WW is not looking good :( . Does AK respond well to lst? My target is 5oz dry per plant :) Ambitious? Hell yeah, but why not? I love a challenge and want to do the best I can first grow :) Knowing my set up, do you think I'm being realistic? :)

McFly....interesting...

Spimp originated and asked LA to come up with a change: 'mainlinning' to 'Fluxing'(joke from Back To The Future), 'Mcfly' is an allusion to this. The reason was mainlinning sounds like using hardcore drugs. So spread the word! Fluxing it is :)

Miwa and JimmyCricket both do this. I can't think of any others off the top of my head. I am going to try it too, it makes a lot of sense if the option is available. I used some wire outside since I had a stem take a little damage, and I realize it is much easier to manipulate the placement of the branch by using the wire, rather than tape or pipe cleaners. I can see why this is a good way to go now.

I wondered why that McFly thing was sticking in my head, thank you! I haven't see that movie in years.
And I agree with everyone on the old name, I think I even mentioned to Rainstacks about the "main...ing" name in a PM a while back, that it doesn't sound like a good thing. LOL
We shall spread the word on "fluxing". :cheesygrinsmiley:

Lightaddict,
pardon me if this question has been asked of you before, do you leave the LST wires on all the time? Some members will undo their LST to give the plant a "breather" from it, just wondered if you do that.
I tried it and I found that it kind of reversed what I was trying to do, which was to get the branch lower gradually. They stiffened back up on me and I had to start over.
Thanks!

Thank you for gracing my journal for your 1000 post my friend! Canna at first the limbs get a breather for about thirty secs maybe once a week if that. Its just done each time I adjust. Later on in grow, no they just get left strapped all the way till chop.
And that method obviously works extremely well for you.:cheesygrinsmiley:
:thanks:

This sounds too interesting to pass up, so I will venture forth and try this method on my Sour Diesel! :thanks:
During your grows, have you found that the plants respond conformably or do they respond differently depending on plant to plant or strain to strain?
