Tutankharmon - 400HPS - Soil Coco Mix - Grow

very nice mate, plant looks great, topping really early like that really pays off, i top early then when them 2 new shoots have grown 1 node i top each shot again which gives you 4 tops, its easy then to train each one to the edge of the pot like jon does with his, them tomato cages work well so ill give them a try at some point in the future, your got some very nice looking plants, that big one is going to produce very well with a nice even canopy like that,

Man I spent a few hours last night looking for vids but I can't find the one I watched, but I think he was using the spiral training as a way to control height more then anything else, but I was medicated when I was watching so don't hold me to it :lot-o-toke:
If you type in "spiral LST training" on you tube, there is one that pops up.
I found one here a few days ago when I was looking too, I had posted on my thread if anyone could remember who it was. LOL this is from 2009 But it shows how he starts it out, I really want to try that.

the co2 is a good option and very easy to set up, when i mix mine i get a jug and put the suger in a jug then add warm water, if its to hot it kills the yeast and if its to cold it wont activate the yeast, so just warm water added to the sugar then mixed up so the sugar disolves, then pour this into the 2ltr bottle, the the same with the yeast but i use a mug and fill 3/4 again with warm water then add the yeast and stir it in, then add it to the bottle and top off with luke warm water or water strait out the tap if the water in the mix is warm enough.

the only thing different i do is i use 2x 2ltr pop bottles, one has the yeast/sugar mix in it, then i have another pop bottle 3/4 full with cold water, i then poke 2 holes in the lid of the bottle with just the water in so you have an inlet and outlet hole, then take the tube from the yeast bottle and push it into the water bottle and down to the bottom below water level, then i get another tube and push it into the other hole but only about an inch so its just inside the bottle but not in the cold water,

then when the yeast goes out the first bottle it then goes into the other bottle and bubbles in the water which acts like a scrubber and removes the smell, then it bubbles up and out the other tube and goes to the plants, in the winter i just use 1x 2ltr bottles but im summer the yeast and sugar attracts the bugs to running 2 bottles stops the smell and the bugs stay away

always rememer that co2 is heavier than air so you either need to run tubing above the plants or around the plants so it has holes poked in it that the co2 can fall out of, or the method i use is mount the tube to the back of a 12v fan then have that blowing across all the plants, then i have another 12v fan blowing cool air up from the bottom of the grow room so any co2 thats settled at ground level gets blown back up into the plants, i run 2 x 12v computer fans off an old mains adaptor, its not even running at 12v i think its running them at 9v so its enough to just move the plants and push the co2 across them.

some of the sponsors sell co2 cans that stay active for 3 or 4 weeks if i remember right, someone was trying them a while back,

here is a link to the co2 generator page, just use 2ltr pop bottles instead of the gallon or milk jug things its on about, i use 2 x 2ltr pop bottles but you could use 1x 2ltr pop bottle then have the filter as a 500ml pop bottle, if you click on the link it will give you everything you need, then if you scroll down a few posts it will show you the filter method,

actually let me upload a pic and ill show you mine
hope you dont mind me posting it here but might help others understand what im on about,

sorry, heres the link and the pics i was on about

sorry forgot the link in the last post, the yeast and sugar you can get from most super markets, the best would be champaine yeast but thats more specialist so would need a brewing shop, it just last longer as the yeast can take higher alc %, or some im told, the tubing you can get from pretty much any hardware store or pet shop as its just air line for air pumps, pretty cheap to set up and seems to work,

the sponsors do provide a product that is suppose to work better than the diy generator but ive not treid one myself so cant comment

Thanks again to the Don I might have to upgrade mine at some point.

I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I have 50$ to spend on our sponsors site Perfect gardens!

I would like to know what people think would be my best addition/s for my 50$.

My present situation is:
Plagron; Grow, Bloom, both terra. PK13-14, Sugar Royal, Green Sensation. Also now the Doggett and Simpson prize from our great sponsor!

I'm predominantly a soil grower.
Should I get something like Diamond nectar. I have no micro anything or root booster. Any thoughts really welcome what else can I get from there great range of products, not going over my budget by much I might add.
Many thanks in advance to everyone who can shout out with Ideas.

I would sleep better at night with a organic micro nute, I got the blue planet micro but would hate to have to use it and mess up my organic thing but would to save a grow. But the root booster would be cool as well. + reps for being a awesome member and having a vary informative yet friendly journal. I think I will do a DIY co2 for the purple paralysis next grow.

Hey LA, awesome plant :thumb: About how many days into flower do you usually train into? For my next grow I think one of plants be Hawaiian Snow that I may train up to 3 weeks into flower from the way the mother plant grew in my test.

BTW, for your $50 buy a nice big air pot or two, if they have them, I like how they work, but a bit more high maintenance on the watering.

Cheers Wak and Craw, to answer you Crawdaddy, I train my girl all the way through from start to about the 3rd to 4th week of flower, so all stretch is done. I have her set up exactly as I want her by then and Just have to tinker from their on. When I say tinker I just mean adjusting height of heads or spacing between bud sites.

Thanks for the input for my gift cert. I need more suggestions so everyone jump in please!
