Tryan2grow1 For The First Time

It was decided that all of the 5000k 23w cfls would be removed. This leaves the 2700k 40w cfls in for flowering. This allowed the reflectors to be replaced as well. Here is the latest set up.

Res change today. Noticed a bit of nute burn on a few leaves on both plants. As well as a few abnormal leaf growths due to a ph unbalance. With this in mind the pre-flower ratio was used but only to half strength. And the ph was put down to 5.5 knowing it will raise. These tactics should eliminate both potential problems. Time will tell. These babies look healthy and happy. Making the cultivator smile. C'mon Christmas in July.

I am running cfl as well I think the reason they are filling behind on growth is to much 2700k lights also how many lumens are they producing? You should have 1 2700k and 3 of the 6500k within that 4 bulb setup... just my opinion.

Philly, that pic seems like yesterday but was way back in my start with these babies. Since then an upgrade has been made to my lighting adding a MHR96. My next round should get off to a much better start. Many rookie mistakes were made upon bringing life to these two plants. My cfl inventory now is an additional light source for lower down photon penetration. Thank you for your thoughts, they seem to be right in line with what our plants need/require in veg stage. Keep 'em green team.

Sorry got so caught up reading your grow so far and just comment on the lights because I had that issue at first well.. thank you for your post hope you don't mind if I tag along

Pull up a seat and let's see where this adventure takes us.....welcome.

The only apparent problem in that pic is keeping up with the massive growth. Looking good!

Thanks man.. I'm trying to catch up on your journal now and so far the progress is amazing man I'm really excited for they look incredible.. thanks for sharing with us man..

Sharing is what this community is all about. If my rookie errors help another to prevent problems that is great. And no doubt in just a few short weeks, 53 days since seeds were put to germ, the learning curve has been extremely steep. This is an awesome hobby. And the end result will bring great joy. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the kudos.

It was seen on another's journal this freak of nature. One of my plant is exhibiting this freak trait as well. Look closely at the center of this leaf. It's growing a bud......

What's up with that? Unusual to say the least.

Not sure it a bud is actually growing in the center of these leaves but it definitely does have pistils in the center. The top bud as it opens appears to leave some pistils behind in the center of the new leaves coming off of it. Cool looking. These plants continue to intrigue this old man.

It's weird for sure. It will be interesting to see what comes of this fan leaf bud.
