Troy's 2nd - Autos - DP Ultimate & Euphoria, Meph Alien v Tangle, RQS Diesel

Love the irrigation Troy, if it goes to scrog or vacation, your set!!
I like how your banding those autos down quick! Great job will be fun to see the buds!
Veg on, veg on.
Cheers
.

Thanks Lowded - I'm happy with the irrigation and trying it daily just to make sure she is running flawlessly. I'm feeling good that they will be good by the time I have to go out of town. I'm sure I'll have to adjust the settings to water a couple times a day as the girls should 6-7 weeks at that point.

I'm almost tempted to put a webcam on them so I can check in on them but ... what would I do if something went wrong>.... LOL

Wow Troy - your journal is so busy, I had to make a fresh cuppa :nomo: and spliff :rollit: halfway through catching up. Enjoyed every minute.

Hey Beachbum - Having to post pictures using the work around is a bit more time consuming. The girls have shown a lot of progress this week. Amazing once they hit the 1 week point they are off and running.

You are right G2HM - my Auto Ultimates are a month older than Troy's and he is going to end up with monsters. When I go in the tent now I feel that I might bump into Dr Livingstone.

:MoreNutes:

You have me laughing on the floor... I started :MoreNutes: upping the nutes yesterday. Going slowly and watching how they respond. My PPM is currently at 825 and no one is complaining.

February 10, 2018 - Olga Day 16 - Growing nicely and more Pony Tailing today. I pulled up more leaves today to expose the very bottom shoots. They about doubled over night and I am sure today's pony tail will help her.

February 11, 2018 -

Briar Rose - Day 15

Briar is growing slower than her big sister. She is getting some LST. I took off the first 2 "True" leaves to allow some lights to get down. She was tied down more severely yesterday and this morning her two little shoots developed significantly.

Holy busy busy lol.. looking nice ..

What t u training for shape or light exposure or both?

Reason I ask is because I see some seedling lst so thought maybe your trying to shape them cuz plants that little usually would be consider pointless to tie town for light as the leaves and everything are pretty small to block out light from lower nodes at that point ..

My other questions is how to u like those wire covered in rubber compared to pipe cleaner for tying down? I like the pipe cleaners and their is something about sticking things in my soil I just don’t like so with pipe cleaner I just use safety pin through fabric planter?

I love this site getting to watch other grows while mine is growing

Hi Dmanlee

1. That's a really good question as I have never done LST before. My objective is to create as many colas as possible to increase the output. I'm also doing a comparison of Olga (Topped and then LST) as opposed to a heavy LST (Briar Rose and Mrs G). So initial training is to create as many budsites as possible. Phase 2 will be to continue with LST to open up the plant to get as much light to the center and bottom as possible. Surprisingly the leaves block more light than one would expect. Even when I pony tailed Olga he lower shoots would grow about 25% in a single day.

2. I'm not really fond of the wire covered with soft rubber. For my current need (early LST) they are too thick and not a strong enough wire inside. Instead I have been using 12 and 14 gauge Romex cable. I strip the outer coating and take the individual strands for my training. At this point my girls aren't big enough to tie to the side of the pot but as they grow I will be switching to tying to the pot -

For my babies I take about a 6" strand of wire and create a Candy Cane Hook at one end that slips over the branch or stem I'm working with. This is working great for the babies but will not be strong enough once the bulk up in a week or two.

For PonyTailing I like the pipecleaners as they are soft and not as likely to harm the leaves.

When I get to tying them down to the pot I will have to figure out whether I use the padded wire or pipe cleaners. Really not sure as this is a project in motion and subject to change as I continue to experiment.

Stay tuned and jump in with suggestions as you see them.

Olga - Her week in review - Olga got topped this week and then Pony Tailed to get the lower branches growing. Yesterday I defoliated the 4 big fan leaves to get more light down to the shoots. After the lower branches caught up to the new shoots from the topping, I started LST on the 4 main stalks (Top Picture).

That's cool you put the mutant with Mrs G, we will be friends unless she does't listen to my roots...hahahahaha Can I see them together?

I see you're getting around the app problem so that's good.

Your ladies seem to love the drip system, I say it's amazing.

You're doing fantastic and I love watching the show.

:)

Well Lady G - the mutant isn't going to make it. At 15 days of age she has only grown to be 1/2" tall and today I decided to put her out of her misery. Now you have a 7 Gallon pot all to yourself. Now it's time for Mrs G to "SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE".
