Troy's 2nd - Autos - DP Ultimate & Euphoria, Meph Alien v Tangle, RQS Diesel

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  Lemme just make myself comfy here :yahoo: I'm just gonna have to spread my wings now.

Honestly, she was cute, but I have yet to keep a mutant going just because of the precious space. But maybe in a solo cup should would do well. TOO LATE...lol.

Our energy is so precious, let's focus on the ladies that are bending over backwards for us. :)

Hi Dmanlee

1. That's a really good question as I have never done LST before. My objective is to create as many colas as possible to increase the output. I'm also doing a comparison of Olga (Topped and then LST) as opposed to a heavy LST (Briar Rose and Mrs G). So initial training is to create as many budsites as possible. Phase 2 will be to continue with LST to open up the plant to get as much light to the center and bottom as possible. Surprisingly the leaves block more light than one would expect. Even when I pony tailed Olga he lower shoots would grow about 25% in a single day.

2. I'm not really fond of the wire covered with soft rubber. For my current need (early LST) they are too thick and not a strong enough wire inside. Instead I have been using 12 and 14 gauge Romex cable. I strip the outer coating and take the individual strands for my training. At this point my girls aren't big enough to tie to the side of the pot but as they grow I will be switching to tying to the pot -

For my babies I take about a 6" strand of wire and create a Candy Cane Hook at one end that slips over the branch or stem I'm working with. This is working great for the babies but will not be strong enough once the bulk up in a week or two.

For PonyTailing I like the pipecleaners as they are soft and not as likely to harm the leaves.

When I get to tying them down to the pot I will have to figure out whether I use the padded wire or pipe cleaners. Really not sure as this is a project in motion and subject to change as I continue to experiment.

Stay tuned and jump in with suggestions as you see them.

I find it best to drill or poke holes in top of sides of pots. That them grow in width hen tie it to stem and hold against drilled holes then next level pick and choose drill more holes ?

But I find in coco pipe cleaners pop up and prick and make me bleed so no thank you putting that on my stems and leafs . My opinion.

Green twist tie wiring string at buck store .

I also don't liek the pegs like tent pole pegs .

I find they just re pop out over time there fore giving you less control and more headaches trying to play with it . I like a smooth grow as much as possible .

Like your ideas KingJoe.

I will have to modify slightly as I'm growing in fabric grow bags. I've seen a lot of people using C-Clamps successfully and that was my plan to use.

Looking good my friend
They're growing fast

Thanks - Hope you had a good weekend.

The do seem to grow quickly. I wish I hadn't had the problem with the seeds at the beginning of the grow and all my girls are of the same age. Having them at different ages gives me a challenge of keeping up on each of their feeding schedule until they get a bit older.

I decided to let them go for a day without water and see how they do. While they say you can't overwater in CoCo I am going to work on getting to a once a day feeding and try to get them to stretch their roots.

Just use the pipe cleaner attached to safety pin that is just attached to fabric planter..

Same results no drills etc no cutting holes...

I’ve tried the bucket and those stupid wires that just pop up all the time and above is by far the easiest method ..

To each there is though but out of all 3 ways I’ve tried this was the easiest ...

Just watch they don't dry out too much with temps you have down there
With our colder temps a low humidity I'm feeding mine every other day
I even gave my NL some water yesterday after a good feed Saturday
She was feeling really light compared to the rest
Don't want roots dying

I do keep an eye on the girls. Probably too much as i am home all the time and probably check in on them 4-5 times a day. I have one of those meters and I'm finding the cloth posts are staying moist down 6" from the top. I've also read that in CoCo you don't want it drying out or you will get nutrient build up.

Safety pins seem like a good choice. I have a bunch of those big diaper pins.

Re: Troy's 2nd - Autos - DP Ultimate & Euphoria, Meph Alien v Tangle, RQS

Received my second order from Seedsman.

Ordered:

Auto Durban Poison - 3
Auto Brooklyn Sunrise - 3

Auto Blackberry Kush - 3

I like them beans dude - 2 of those are top of my list for next grow. So cool.

I wrote this in my journal just 2 days ago while your seeds were in the post: For next grow, my current plan is to stick with Dutch Passion Autos - gonna keep a strain from current grow (Euphoria or Ultimate - whichever I like most) as a control and add Durban Poison (getting homesick) and maybe Brooklyn Sunrise. 2 plants of each. Crazy coincidence considering we share some of the same strains now.

When do you plan on germinate them?

Fantastic - I have another order coming from Seedsman - hopefully it will be here in 3-4 days as they were ordered a week after my last order. In the second batch I have a number of Auto Indica beans. I then have to figure out which I will drop.

I will probably be dropping the beans about the middle of March. The next crop has to be jarred up before July 1 when I am going away for 6 weeks.

Hi Joe -

Trying lots of different types of training - I'm doing both topping of some of the girls and heavy LST on others.

Tell me about tip spreading. Not rally aware of those words.

Re: Troy's 2nd Grow — DP Auto Ultimate & Euphoria, Meph Alien v Tangle Auto, RQS Die

Started Germination Today 1/13/2017

I decided to use the germination method of soaking my seeds in water over night and then put into moist paper towel.

Here's my initial line up - May have some pinch hitters hop in if any of the girls don't make the first inning.

Dutch Passion - Auto Ultimate (2 each)
Dutch Passion - Auto Euphoria
Dutch Passion - Auto Daiquiri Lime
Mephisto - Alien v Tangle Auto (freeby)
Royal Queen Seeds - Diesel Auto (freeby)

Sure u all over it but if u put in paper towel in baggy like u stated moist not wet.. in bag it holds moisture..I use same water I soaked seedling in and I soak paper towel then squeeze out only leaving it just moist not dripping ..

Let me know how it goes .. last 9 I did were all sprouted and planted in 36hrs some even less but not one took more then 36hrs to sprout...

Cheers u r one busy grower lol...I just got in 5 seeds of al the following dark devil,Purple Kush, bubba kush, blueberry then 20 white widows ..

I'm getting ready for my summer gardening lol

Great TIP Joe, yah I give this link out too. It's a MUST-DO for sure.

I do heavy tip spreading from midveg to flower. It helps you stack your buds and allow for bigger bud sites by opening the the tips of your flowers as they grow and mature.

Also Troy, do you have both your 600's on, or just one for veg? Just wondering how much light you have on during your early veg?

Your garden is beautiful, feels like a laboratory of goodness. I'm really starting to like auto's now. The progress is so fast, good for my time schedule. :)
