Total 1000W CFL Auto Grow

Looking great in plant world I'm hoping.... New to this but it looks good.... Does anyone have a clue as to how DWC or anything works? I was thinking about getting a 5gallon bucket dwc kit and trying it out.... Only question was how often do I need to change the water out?

I would read around in the Completed Journal section and see what you think. I would do it because you're almost there already.

A simple hand sprayer will work here. ( referring to the dry soil pic) Mist with H2O and the leaves should un-curl.
The pics are really good. I see your grow is off to a great start.

Keep up the wonderful work. You've got some impressive growth/ :cheertwo:

Happy new year!

H20 on the leaves my light will burn them..... It's only the old leaves that are curled up a little bit.... I didn't water yesterday and probably won't tonight.... Waiting till it wilts.

If you were using MH/HPS lights/plasma ..etc then yes, moisture on your leaves might act as lenses. Spraying them with moisture with CFLs is not going to burn your leaves. There isn't enough intensity to cause this. light from CFLs is very diffused. If you are noticing burning, this is a fairly clear indication about the concentration of your nutrient solution.

I typically don't feed my shelas until they have developed a strong root system at least 2-4 weeks after they have their first full 3 sets true leaves. At seedling stage which is the stage in the picture you posted, Most plants aren't strong enough to handle high nutrient foods. What you are experiencing is typically caused by too much Nitrogen, either in the form of Urea/Ammonium compounds in the mix.

What are you using for your nutrition?
What is the available % of Nitrogen?

I'm using LED lights....... Watered with straight ph water

I'm not following. What do you mean by pH water? Are you referring to it being completely neutral (6.6—7.3pH?)
Actually, from what I see your seedling looks quite good. Very bushy and very healthy. :bravo:

IF you are still thinking of feeding in the next 2-3 weeks, I'd do so with a slow release fertilizer or a very dilute aqueous feeding. I'd also think about using a dilute solution of epsom salts MgSO4 as this will help the plant draw up Fe and other nutrition. I've personally had excellent success with Epsom salts for either outdoor grows or indoor grows. keeps the foliage very healthy (green) and Fe+ levels up. Helps as a transporter for nutrition in the plant.

hmm... crispy leaves... Sounds like your foliage could be getting dried out by the LED heat output. I suggest dampening the soil surface and the leaves with a hand sprayer/ mister.

:hmmmm: how fast does your medium drain?

- Epsom salts can be used either as a foliar spray (diluted) or added (sprinkled directly onto the soil). It will not burn the plants.

Apply the same info here when using it for Cannabis. 1tbs to 1 gallon when using it for greening up your plants.
Epsom Salts: a Natural Fertilizer for Tomatoes

Fast draining medium is perfect for Epsom salts. I'd use it sparingly on moisture retaining soils and mediums.

2 nice new tops coming up and looking like maybe 4 total. I'll be doing some leaf tucking, ponytail, LST to try to get the most I can outta this first plant.... Light penetration is pretty intense for this 1 led light.... It's only a 9 band led light I wondered if those 11 band lights are that much better that I should consider buying 1? I have also got 4-5 different auto-fem seeds on order I'll post pics when I get them.... Happy holidays to anyone that actually reads this journal! You guys are my support and I thank each and every person for that. You guys/gals are the best.

Actually... I see no problems. Good grow!

It's hard to tell how the leaves look under blue+red light, but I think it looks pretty darned good!! :) :thumb: :goodjob:

Try getting pics with a daylight CFL or full spectrum.
