Tok's First Mushroom Diary - Medical First/Recreation

I was just checking my Uncle Ben's brown rice bag's and noticed they expirer on 4/24. I have ten bags, so I inoculated two bags with Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero spores. I also expanded the viewing port at the bottom of the bag. I don't know is this is a difficult spore to cultivate or not.

If at first I don't succeed try, try again.

The unassuming appearance of Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero belies its potency as one of the most powerful Psilocybin-containing mushrooms known. With its small-to-medium size and brown-to-white coloration, this species is highly sought after by those in the know. Panaeolus mushrooms are widespread and can be found in tropical and temperate regions around the world, making them a common sight for foragers. However, this variety, with its 2-3 times higher concentration of Psilocybin than other species like Psilocybe Cubensis, can be easily overlooked by those unfamiliar with it.

In the wild, Panaeolus Cyanescens tend to be light grey or off-white, with caps that start out light brown before fading to a pale grey. Their gills are black or grey with a spotty appearance caused by the way the pan cyan estero spores ripen in tiny patches on the gill surface. The stem is small and covered in a fine white powder, and when damaged, the mushrooms turn blue or greenish. Blue Meanies are typically found growing on cattle or horse dung in pastures and grass fields and are known to occur in tropical and sub-tropical regions year-round. In the United States, they are found along the Gulf Coast and in Florida, where they fruit virtually year-round on cow pies.

These mushrooms are believed to have been introduced to Hawaii in the early 1800s with the importation of cattle from the Philippines and can now be found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. They are commonly found in countries such as Mexico, South America, Australia, India, Southeast Asia, South Africa, France, and Italy. Despite their unassuming appearance, Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero and its Blue Meanies variety are a powerful and widespread species sought after by mushroom enthusiasts around the world.

Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero is a type of psychedelic mushroom that is commonly found in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, particularly in the state of Florida. Here are some specifications about this species:

  • Appearance: Panaeolus cyanescens Estero mushrooms have a slender, cylindrical stem that is typically 5-12 cm long and 2-4 mm thick. The cap is usually 1-2.5 cm in diameter and has a conical or bell shape, often with a small umbo (nipple-like protrusion) at the center. The cap color is light brown to tan, sometimes with a greenish tint, and may have a slightly translucent appearance. The gills are closely spaced and are initially grayish, turning black as the mushroom matures. The flesh is thin and fragile, and bruises blue when handled.
  • Potency: These mushrooms are known for their high potency and contain a variety of psychoactive compounds, including psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin. The exact potency can vary, but in general, these mushrooms are considered to be more potent than other common psychedelic mushrooms such as Psilocybe cubensis.
  • Effects: When consumed, Panaeolus cyanescens Estero mushrooms can produce a range of psychedelic effects, including changes in perception, mood, and thought processes. Users may experience visual and auditory hallucinations, altered sense of time, and feelings of euphoria or anxiety. The effects typically begin within 30-60 minutes of ingestion and can last for 4-6 hours or more.
  • Habitat: Panaeolus cyanescens Estero mushrooms grow naturally in warm, humid environments such as pastures, lawns, and meadows. They are often found growing on or near cow dung, although they can also grow on other types of decaying organic matter.

Here is a couple images with the expanded viewing port.

Thank you for asking @Lady Cannafan

I will check on them, on Saturday or Sunday.
Trying not to disturb them for 7 days.

I notice that the mycelian growth is slowing spreading in the AIO bag inoculated with the Nameless spores.

Still have not noticed anything on the AIO bag inoculated with Amazonian spores.

Since there is not a lot to say about my shrooms right now; I have been working on building content in this sub-section.

Be safe and cultivate well my friend,
Tok..

Great! Yes, the content section needs a good build. You are doing fantastic with that! :dreamy:

Wow, thank you for stopping by @Ramblinrose1965 @JohnnieJC3 and @CaptainLucky.

I am not used to having visitors in my dairy, but I must admit it is nice for a change.

I totally agree @Ramblinrose1965 , my mistake was trying to do more; with not enough knowledge to make it to the finish line. One of the problems I have is too many different type spores, and with a limited life span; I try to use them up before they go bad. They are being stored in the veggie drawer of a refrigerator. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate winning all the different spores, but would like to use them before they go bad. That is why I am going to buy more AIO bags; or maybe I should buy jars?

@JohnnieJC3 thank you for your insight and explanation of the mushroom situation as a whole.

@CaptainLucky and @Ramblinrose1965 being a beach bum sound fun, but I never had the opportunity.

I was in the military for 25 years of my life starting in 1972 for 8 years got out and rejoined in 1989 to 2006. I have been around the world a couple of times. I live in Hawaii and Japan for a while and have been to many different countries multiple times like Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines Islands live there for a while also, Australia more than 10 times and many more. But at that time I was not getting high eithers, national security reasons.
I did but a kilo of hash in Bangkok in 73 to bring home, that was great.

No real progress to report on the mushrooms at this time. Just standing by waiting and tending to them.

Thanks again for stopping by everyone.

I had a 4-5 year old spore print that worked fine. I made several syringes from it. A friend tried a syringe and had good luck with it too. I don't think all spores last that long.

Check out what happens when you don't compress the edges as well as the middle of the sub. Most of my work has been uncased in the past, but casing is worth it in my dry area, it's just easier(to manage) and better healthier fruits. This is actually a straw sub, I don't do too many with chopped straw and gypsum, but part of the thrill for me is trying new things. These are Avery's Albino and the rest of the flush came in very soon after harvesting most of the side fruits. These aren't side pins, more like, side casing fruits.

Here is another tub that did the same thing, fruited mainly on the sides first, then the actual pinset came in. Some wonderful PE fruits. Alright ya'll, figured I'd share my misstep, it happens, especially dialing in cased tubs, versus micromanaging the surface of an uncased sub. Uncased you have to keep the surface with beads, cased, DO NOT mist, it will only slow things down or not fruit at all. Golden nugget for the day, get out of your own way. :peace:

Beautiful fruits!! Well done Growmie!! 😎✌️

I am not sure if these are the same thing.
Yeppers...pan cyan...is Panaeolus cyanescens. Actually the true Blue Meanie shrooms!! There's a blue meanie cubensis as well but any Panaeolus cyanescens are really nice and strong in potency. Can't wait to see if your Ben's bags work. I pulled a chair up for this one!! 😎✌️

Thank you for stopping by @Scottay

I just did a quick check on the UB brown rice bag, no sign of mycelium grow. I will wait a few more days before I check it again.

I did receive my six 32oz jars of Rye (3) and 5 grain (3) from @Midwest Grow Kits very well packed and protected. I will be waiting to use these until I get the bags done. I have a mono tub that limits how many I can start at a time.

The mycelium growth is starting to speed up in the AIO bag of Nameless spores, but still no visible sign of mycelium growth of the Amazonian spores in the other AIO bag.

I will post some images on my next update in a few days.

Be safe and grow well my friends,
Tok..

Will provided images a little later, I get a chance to take them.

The UB Brown Rice now has Mycelium grow in both bags and the one AIO bag inoculated with Nameless spores is progressing slowly still. Still no sign of mycelium in the AIO bag inoculated with Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero. These bags seem a little slow developing mycelium growth. I have time.

Will update with images a little later today.

I have my fingers crossed for you on the Pan Cyan's. So far, I have had zero luck with it. Waiting on one cake to see if I get any kind of pinning at all.

Well, I may just get lucky and have some shrooms for the New Years. Growing shrooms is a skill of patience until you reach the fruiting stage. I hate to say it, but mushrooms seems to grow best when they are not fussed over. I currently have a empty fruiting tub, waiting for residence to move in.

current status and images.

Days 8 since injection UB Brown Rice inoculated with Pan Cyan is in mycelium growth phase day 2

30 days since injection for Amazonian, thinking about re-inoculating again in a few days.

30 days since injection Nameless mycelium growth phase, slow but progressing day 16.

It may be a Pan Cyan type New Years season.

That's all folk's.

Be safe and grow well my friends,

That scrubbing bubble dude looks like a shroom hiding in the background. 🍄

Thank you for stopping by @Ramblinrose1965

I checked at day 5 seen some growth on one bag.
Then I checked today which is day 8 and both had Mycelium growth.
Hopefully I will be doing a shake and break by the end of the week.

The AIO bags are on their own schedule.

Be safe and grow well my friend,
Tok..
🤞🤞 Got my fingers crossed for a successful harvest.🍄🍄

Thank you for your kind words @Ramblinrose1965 and @Scottay

I am hoping I can enjoy them during the New Years Weekend and I am not sure if I did Pan Cyan back in the 70's or not. Hopefully, I will enjoy and find out soon. I am going to wait a few more days before I check them again and it would be nice if they where ready for the break and shake. I can hope.
