Toast's 2016 Indoor/Outdoor Grow Journal

Air Pot Transplant and Update: When you use Air Pots one of the side effects is as the roots push to the sides of the pots and go thru the holes, it tends to force some of the soil out of the pots. So the plant gets lower and lower in the pot. This requires you to add soil at least once be for Flowering. Here's pots that need soil

What you do is very simple, you take out the two screws at the top and bottom

DSCF6461.JPG
Then lay the pot on its side, open it up and take out the plant
DSCF64622.JPG
Reassemble the pot
DSCF6463.JPG
Add three to five inches of fresh soil or what is needed

then replace the plant and fill with soil

They look much happier now TOAST. :circle-of-love:

Over the weekend 12 more clones became fully rooted. I sold 4 @ $10.00 a piece, to one of the guy's down the street, who just got his recommendation and is attempting his first grow. Then this morning I transplanted the other 8 clones into Qt. Zip- Locks and here they are

Another few minutes and I will move them over with the girls that are sunning in another part of the yard. Later Peep's. TOAST

Today I transplanted the last 7 clones

so I took 28 clones and had a 100% success rate, which is normal. I am devoting the rest of the day to setting up the indoor room for flowering and the outdoor room for vegging. A little later today I got a couple plants I want to show you all, so I will be posting more pics as soon as I take them.

Here's some of my favorite plants

Hey man! Awesome seedlings! But wtf is Gold Leaf? I never heard of it :passitleft:

I got one more thing for today, but first - Conradino , there's a small seed bank owned by this Robert Bergman guy. Hell I never heard of this guy or his Gold Leaf before either, but the guy I got the clones from is about 3 day away from harvest and this stuff is crazy dank. So go check it out. Here's the out door grow room with the girls in it

now what I do to get my plants to start flowering is, I shut the lights off and leave it that way for 72 hours straight. I don't water them, look at them or even open the door. So there in darkness now and will be until Sunday morning when I will put them out in the sun for 10 1/2 hours and then starts the 13 1/2 / 10 1/2 and hopefully the stinkin spidermite's don't get um. I bombed the room early this morning, so I know there aren't any in the room or on the plants. I sure hope it stays this way. Well this is actually the last post for me today, I promise. Toast

Tarheel, that's the consensus. My buddy that gave me the clones I started with back in 2000, told me to do the 72 hour thing. He does that in all 20 of his grow houses. It seems to give them an extra push and knocks a few days of flowering time, and doesn't hurt them. How is it going for you. I know its still real cold where your at. Have you got started yet. Its like summer hear. Right now its 2:45 pm and its 80 degrees and full sun. Very very nice here. But that's why its nice in drought ridden California. Beautiful weather and no water. LOL Its all way's something. TOAST

Things are going good on my coast, just wish it would be spring already! Its been nice here a few days...in the 70's but usually in the upper 50's and still in the 30's at night...I have 12 strains germinating at the moment, should be popping their heads up in the next 24-48 hours. I'll be starting a journal for them soon...hopefully this outdoor season goes as smooth as last year....well except for the late season mold issue I encountered

UDs in fast pheno version are ready in 3rd/4th week of September on 45N. Just some info, man.

Well I can't upload the picture right now. But Sunday I took more clones, more El Fuego, Super Silver Haze, and Ultra Dawg X Jirrillo De Sinola. There in bags in the out door grow room with the vegging summer crop and doing just dandy. I expect this batch to root faster than the last do to warmer conditions at night. Soon as I am able to upload I'll post the Picture. Later TOAST

Here's a little Update: These are the plants I just put into flowering

These are the plants that are vegging
DSCF64932.JPG
A friend told me that my local grow store had a shelf failure and a bunch of pallets of 3 cubic ft coco fiber got broken open and they had them out front and were getting rid of them for $5.00 a bag. I've all ways wanted to try it so I went and bought a couple bags. Came home mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 with my soil and transplanted 5 of the Qt baggies to 1 lb baggies, 3 - Ultra Dawg Boom and 2 - Chem's.
DSCF64941.JPG
I thought the coco was going to make the soil lighter so the bags wouldn't be so heavy when I carry them 4 at a time. But that was not the case. I don't see much difference then peat moss. Once its wet its just as heavy as any thing else. We will have to see how the plants fair in the new medium. Last time when I was experimenting with 3/4 soil and 1/4 peralite and 1/2 soil and 1/2 peralite it turned out 2/3 soil and 1/3 peralite was the ticket, so I am sure there will be some adjustments to be made to this coco mix. On another note if any one was to buy the Gold Leaf I talked about, if you mention Toxic Fluid you will receive a handsome discount. Well Peace Brotha and Sista - Rin. I'm Out TOAST
