Toast's 2016 Indoor/Outdoor Grow Journal

This is gonna be another great season :bong:

When I was taking my plants outside I noticed the root growth difference between my normal soil and the ones I 1/2 Coco'ed. There are 4 Coco's and 3 in my soil, that have been in their bags twice as long as the ones in the Coco

You can see in these next 2 pix more root growth in half the time.

So far this Coco stuff is pretty Bitchen. Wouldn't this make a nice Gorilla Grow Patch

Well I'm gona take a stroll up the hill and see how badly it faired since I've been there last. TOAST

Indeed it would. Shame about the weather here (Scotland) or I'd be tempted to give it a go on a larger scale outside. Last year I got nothing I wanted to smoke but got far enough I want to try again and hope for better weather.

Is it better to clump them all together like that or to spread them about if you have a large clearing in the woods? I think it was Conrad who said put them in the ground so I'll do that rather than pots. Have 6 auto beans to put out there so far.....reluctant to start more photo periods until I have a veg room to keep mother plants or clones so I can keep the keepers. As you say, just getting one plant from a seed is a waste and I already wish I had clones of 2 I ran indoors last year.

Interesting result on your coco experiment though. Have you ever tried using the stuff out of nappies in soil? Saw somebody post a vid of using it as a growing medium the other day and it seemed to work a bit like coco.

Kushtie, It would be better to spread them out so the whole plant gets enough light. A few years ago I did this Hedge,

IMG_12258_1_.jpg
What ended up happening is the Hedge grew as a single Giant Plant. The entire inside of the Hedge was barren, there were branches every where but no buds on the branches except for the tops and ends. As far as using Napples, I don't know I just bought some broken bags the guy at the grow store was getting rid of, so I don't know where it came from. Like I said I was just trying to make my containers lighter, cause I haul them out side and back in every day and when there wet they get pretty heavy. Its just a great side effect that the plants root so aggressively in the 1/2 and 1/2 coco/soil mix. I can hardly wait to get some plants in the ground and see if the better rooting makes the plants larger then in the past. Good luck my friend. TOAST

I like the way you teach by personal example TOAST. Warms my educator's heart every time I see you do it. Caught you in real time big guy. :battingeyelashes:

Oh yeah, reps for that little teachable moment. Made me proud to know you.

Thanks Lem, I'll spread them out....at least I got something right last year then.:laughtwo:

Now I need to go take a load of biobizz soil out there.....dunno what grew bigger plants but the Plant Magic soil seems to turn taste (and quite possibly potency) up a notch so I'm planning on using that indoors this year.

Will be interesting to see if coco makes a difference to size or quality.

Its been a couple weeks sense I started flowering my indoor grow room. Its time to start the Flowering Regiment, which entails, Fox Farms Big Bloom, Fox Farms Tiger Bloom, and Jamacian Bat Guano. I alternate Big Bloom, then Bat Guano, then Tiger Bloom, then Bat Guano, and then start over when I water for the next 8 weeks, and then start the flush. here's what they look like today.

Thanks for the Rep SweetSue Its appreciated. That's it for me. TOAST

Wow TOAST! Pretty trees. You grow such lusciously healthy plants and you make it look so easy. I wish I could work side by side with you one season. Just one season of hard work to make it worth all the knowledge I'd be picking out of that beautiful brain. :circle-of-love:

Yesterday afternoon as I started to put the plants back in my outdoor grow room, I decided to check the clones. All of them are rooted, and these 3 were ready to go, so I transplanted them into 1/2 soil and 1/2 Coco. I am waiting to see the difference in root growth from the previous ones in just soil. Its worked in every other aspect I have used it so far. Here are the Transplants.

and that's it for right now. TOAST

Well I decided to start on the hill today. At 8:00am I took the outdoor grow room plants out doors, LOL I then picked 8 plants to go on the hill. By the time I got that done, it was 9:00am and time to put the indoor plants out side. Then I went to the grow store to get a bunch of things but the Credit Card Swiper was broke so I couldn't get any thing. In order to accomplish what I had planed for today, I absolutely have to have more Coco. So I went to the bank and took out 20.00 and got 4 - 3 cubic ft bags of coco. I came home and mixed 8 - 5 gal buckets of my soil with 8 - buckets of coco and a bunch of Peralite Mixed it real good and took it up on the hill. Here's what I started with
DSCF65541.JPG
I leveled it out by using the dirt I was taking out of the holes to raise the bed hight and replacing it with the coco mix. Here it is after

Lets see if I can remember!!! There is 1 of each of the strains, I believe they are JD, UD, Boom, Chem, SLH, GL, PR, and EF. Believe it or not, climbing the hill, up and down carring stuff for the first time in that particular year will wear your ass out, so I'm headed for the tub, for the next couple hours. Later TOAST

Hey man, i think it's godd for you cause it'll raise your desert CEC. It will hold nutrients and water better, this is what you need. I'd also get some worm castings or add some garden made compost. This is weird how soils are different around the world, but I believe you have water retention problem there which I don't have for example cause ground waters get refilled during sppring, it rains as fuck now actually :laughtwo::tokin: although temps are in mid 70s. Might be more similar to Florida than Cali actually, but we'll see. Pretty stoked to see all this desert going to Tijuana :laughtwo::tokin: Ok you keep it up, man! If the weather is more balanced than last year, that might be pretty spectacular season. Need to outplant more seedlings tomorrow, the rest of them are cracking the pots already, and then I can start more seeds although I dunno if it's such a good idea cause my friend planted 50 UD seeds and they are all very consistent, we have to dig some more of this soil on the nearest hill :laughtwo:

I believe it. I was up and down the basement stairs carrying stuff over 30 times yesterday and at least 10 times today and my knee is blown out like I've never experienced before. Tomorrow the tub - thanks for the idea.

You all enjoy your 420 :passitleft:

Well I put 4 more plants on the hill

There was a PK, JD, PR, and a Chem. I would like to go on record, stating, " This is the first time in my life, that I cant handle HARD WORK " this is absolute BS. I must be getting OLD. My brain say I'm early 20's and my body say's " Screw You, you aint doing this any more " so this will be the last time I go GONZO on the hill. Its just to demanding. Have a good one. I'm headed for the tub. TOAST
