Tnoldons Indoor Lemon Skunk Grow (Poor Man's Grow)

Ok just more or less a picture update, everything is going well the new LSTing is working well. One question I have I was thinking about it and since I am transplanting the lemon skunk tonight or tomorrow, should I continue with the LSTing or should I burry the lemon skunk to just a 1/2 inch under the first node and let her to continue to grow upward Top her and then continue LSTing after she gets a little taller. Otherwise I will continue the LSTing as is I'm sure either way she will keep getting bigger.

LST is looking great man. If you keep it going like this, you are going to have a serious bush. But if you want her to get bigger and aren't worried about how long you're vegging for, then I would hold off on topping, transplant to the bigger pot and continue the LST, working the main stem around the rim of the pot. You will end up with way more bud sites this way, and way more places to top and create more bushiness!

Plus, lemon skunk seedling seems to be coming back to life! Nice green growth in the center is a good sign!

Aright Smokey I am taking your suggestion and holding off on toping for know. I have all the time in the world to veg lol I'm not to worried about time, I'm hoping if she really starts doing well she can become the mother plant but we will have to wait and see. After all the hell she has been though and she came out looking the way she did I know there are some good genes in there!

I will be transplanting her tonight or tomorrow in to a 2 gallon trash can lol, but it works I'm drilling a few holes in the bottom and filling the first 1/4 with perlite for better drainage. So when doing the LST its suppose to wrap around the whole pot? When you wrap it wound the whole way do you then just let it grow straight up?

Hang in there Tnoldon! You'll be rewarded for your patience and persistence.

Thanks BD!!! I'm hanging in there and I'm really happy with how my grow is turning out it went from a disaster to a miracle lol and believe me....I can't wait for the rewards! :ganjamon:

Tn unless you're in a hempy bucket, which you're not, I wouldn't put the perlite in the bottom. Just mix it well into the soil.

If you want better drainage you need a wick... a piece of cotton rope would work, have it stick up from a hole in the bottom into the lower 2-3" of your pot.

While it's hard to visualize, putting stuff like perlite or rocks at the bottom of your pot won't help drainage very much, and it will reduce the effective growing area for your roots.

Thanks fro the info Blue! haha good thing I didn't transplant yet! I'll have to try the cotton rope and see how it works. I just want to make sure I don't have any still water just sitting around I heard that can cause problems.

in soil as you water, the smaller particles wash away thru the drainholes, if you got perlite blockn em it kinda defeats the purpose, unless u got gnats already but panty hose is a more effective alternative imo...
LST looks good, but if youve seen Bluedogs journal, sometimes lsting too early can just shift your growing bush to the side.... so i guess wait until she really bushes out with innernodes with the cfls, then trigger the bending, this way when the main cola turns back up towards the light it wont block and shade out the other bottom nodes... basically i would wait on the LST if you got vertical room
u got the dwc bucket in there u could be growin somethin as tall as that +lst
have you checked out xbox4hims journal? he trained his bluedream but waited til they branched out a bit
everything else looks green though my friend, :goodjob:

Thanks for the info Funny! I'll make sure to look into all of that. I do have some vertical room but I'm trying to keep them as small as possible because I have to move soon and the grow space will be much much smaller sadly :(

Quick question! The RockLock is getting out of control with growth lol she is getting big and is as big width and height wise (not as many nodes) as the lemon skunk and she is only 8 days old! Anyway onto the question. When should I transplant her?

Here is a pic so you can see how big she has gotten in the last day or so

Ok thanks for the tips all! I guess she is staying in her hempy for a little while longer. Ok so I didn't have time to transplant the lemon skunk yet sadly but I might get to that tonight. Ok so a question about the transplant it is just a plastic trash can so should I do anything special with it as far as where to drill holes? I heard some people drill the holes to inches up from the bottom is there a reason for this? Also I hear some say add perlite to the bottom and others say that will cause issues so which one is it? I'll be posting some pictures tonight

If you are using just soil, you want to mix perlite into your soil at about a 75% to 25% soil to perlite mixture. Drilling a hole 2" up from the bottom is a hempy expression. Unless you plan on switching over to hempy from soil, then this is not what you want to do. You just need to drill a bunch of holes on the bottom and maybe a 1/2" up the sides. That's just for good drainage. You will need to place this in a tray to catch your runoff.

Yeah I am growing just soil, I guess I just didn't understand what a "hempy" is I still am not to sure haha. I'm going to try and do this transplant this week sometime its been a crazy weekend and I didn't get time to do it.

If you want to know about hempy, check out DocBud's grow. You basically fill a bucket with perlite and drill one single hole 2" from the bottom of the bucket. Now, for nutes, you can either water every couple of days with nutrient water, or you can put OC+ in with your perlite and just water with regular PH'd water. With both of these, you water the plant in one spot quickly until you see water coming out of the hole. The reason for the hole to be 2" from the bottom is to create a reservoir of nutrient water for the roots to feed off of.

There is much more to it, but that is basically it. Doc says it's really stoner proof, and he's been experimenting with a hempy/soil mixture. You should check out his journal if you want to know what hempy is really all about!

Ok so here is a picture update! The first picture is a comparison of the older lemon skunk (40+ days old) and the RockLock (9 days old) and you can see the amazing growth of the rocklock and I am pleased :) I guess this is what they look like when you grow them right the first time lol. Overall the grow is going well the lemon skunk is getting bigger and the leaves in between the nodse are more noticeable than ever. The rocklock is getting huge! and makes me smile everytime I look at it. And the seedling lemon skunk just looks funny with her leaves going everywhere but she is getting btter...Also for some reason I don't remember but I germinated my ak-48... maybe I was RoorRip and don't remember lol but either way I will grow her :)

Here are the comparisons of the RockLock and the Lemon Skunk:
