Tnoldons Indoor Lemon Skunk Grow (Poor Man's Grow)

Ok so here it is! I LST'd my oldest lemon skunk and I'm nervous about this I hope I did it right. And I'd feel better if I got some feed back on this. She wouldn't bend a ton I bent her until she started to resist and no more. I also set my anchor for safety precautions. I'm hoping I did this right and that it will benefit me and the plant in the long run.

Here's the pics!

Ok so here are pictures from this morning and wow I am surprised that over night she bent back up towards the light! So do I need to pull her down more or let her grow a bit and then tie her down again? Also I can see the new nodes forming!! they're a lot of them and I hope they get big! Also in other news the RockLock is doing well even with the fan blowing on her the stem was weak so I cut a piece off of a straw and used it to help prop her back up. The lemon skunk has stopped growing all together the nute burn was pretty bad but she is still alive and I've been flushing her everyday I hope she will recover soon.

Anyway here are the pics of the lemon skunk tied down you can see the new nodes starting and how she has already reached back up towards the light.

Yea, they can have the top pointed back at the light in as little as an hour sometimes! Looks great man! My only worry now would be your pot size. Your not going to have much control in the pot shes in now. You may consider transplanting her soon, then you will be able bend her any which way you want!

You did a good job man! She looks great!

Hhmmm? Just wondering if you look at the new fan leaf thats already formed and the one under it. The one under it has split into five points yet the new one is three points? and I cant see anywhere on the leave thats splitting to form the other two points. Also how long does it take for those nodes in between the branches to fully develop?

As far as the leaves go, I wouldn't worry about it. That is determined genetically so you have no say how many points each leaf gets. :) The plant will start taking off soon and those branches are going to start growing upward and will look like what the top of your plant looks like. There's really no set time of how long they take, but once you start seeing them form and the plant is healthy, they are not going to stop! :grinjoint:

Great thanks guys I'm glad I did it right! Well the pot she is in right now is meant to be transplanted so it wont be hard to do. Only question I have about that is it seems to have a tight weave around the pot, when I transplant it will the roots be strong enough to push there way through? I'm excited that I saw the new nodes starting to grow, so your saying that those will act like the top of the plant now so it will become another stem or branch?

One last thing! When I transplant her I will have to take off the string that is holding her down at the moment. when the string comes off will this hurt the plant?

Also here is a group shot I took but forgot to post:

Yea those growths at the nodes are going to become branches with their own stem. As far as the pot, I'm willing to bet once you transplant it and it gets wet, it will probably start to get soft. Roots are pretty tough, so I think you shouldn't be worried if that is what it's made for. And taking the tie off won't be a problem. Just be gentle and re-apply it after the transplant.

You're doing awesome man! Experimentation is what makes this so fun!

Great thanks for the info Smokey! She is still a small plant but I'm guessing now that I did the LST she will really start to take off and make me proud! Honestly I didn't think I would make it this far haha but with all the great help I've gotten here I'm not surprised I did :)

If I get time will will transplant her, I'm not sure what size pot to get any ideas?

OK since I'm the guy with a million questions... The stem of my plant as you can see from the pictures is very very skinny. Will this effect bud growth or over all plant growth? Also will them stem ever get any thicker then it is know? The lemon skunks stem is about the size of the rocklocks and the rocklock is only a few days old.

I would try for a 2-3 gallon pot, depending on how big you plan on getting your plants. And the stem will definitely thicken up. The stem in the picture you pulled off my journal was not much thicker than yours. But now it is much much thicker. And don't forget about your other limiting factor with these babies, genetics. There are just certain characteristics about how the plant grows, how fast it grows, the size and color of leaves and many other variables that are completely based on genetics. Things will happen when they are supposed to. You're plant generally won't grow in a way that it can't handle. Well, unless it is a mutant.

And don't worry about questions bro. I am bored at work a lot of the time, and love nothing more than talking about this wonderful hobby we all have. If you got one, ask it! How else would you learn??

trust me they will get stronger/bigger with time....the fan gently blowing on them will get them to grow strong.

Awesome good to know :) I guess I have to still work on the whole patients thing with the plant

Hmmm well I am limited to the space I have not sure if that matters with the 2-3 gallon bucket or not. I think I have something close to that size but I might just go buy a small trash can at the dollar store lol.

Yeah I guess your stem from that picture wasn't to much bigger, haha I still worry some about my plant i guess. I'll just wait and see how things go and I'm sure from what you and UglyMuppet said there shouldn't be any problems.

Glad I don't have to worry about asking questions because I always have a ton, you're right about thats how we learn if I didn't ask so many I'd be lost on what to do half the time. And same here with being bored at work :-) plus this site is awesome always something new to see and learn from.

Yea, whatever you can afford bro. Cheaper is better. Just don't forget about drainage! Drill some holes if you use something that isn't technically a pot. My 3 gal pots are about 11" in diameter and 12" tall. So anything around that size should be comparable.

This site is awesome. So far no other forum I have been to can touch it. Great web layout, plenty of sponsors, active mods, and the community. You just can't beat wasting time at :420:!

Ok just want to know if a 8inch wide by 7inch tall container would work for a new transplant? or should I just get the 2 gallon bucket? The one I have now I cut from a protein container lol

Ok so here is another update. First when I got home I found my closet door opened and my cat sitting right next to it...lets just say my heart about stopped and I feared for the worst! Luckily my cat managed to only knock over a few things unplug one light and mercilessly didn't harm a single plant! she must loves the plants as much as me to have resisted the temptation to destroy them lol.

Anyway nothing much has changed really I tied the lemon skunk down a bit more but nothing to noticeable, the leaves between the branches however are really starting to show up! I'm hoping when I top this weekend that it goes as well as the LST did. As far as the Rocklock she is doing great the fan is blowing on her on medium now to help strengthen her stem (the one pic is blurry from the leaves moving so much from the fan) and she seems to get bigger everyday. As for the seedling lemon skunk....I really don't know the nute burn was bad and she has not grown a bit for a week now. She did get as little color back but maybe I should've waited before I tried a hydro grow because this one isn't going to well.

Anyway here are a few pics!
