Themaddabber's Hempy Bucket Bathtub Grow 2017

Okay 420 family friends and followers.

El choppo is coming along I think? Still a ways to go... but not much further

I was able to jar up some of the first few cuts. Funny to think that they took so long to trim... I feel I'm really getting a good routine now. I snip all the fan leaves to one side and any potential sugar containing leaves into the baking dish to be blasted into shatter.

Okay so here are some pics

I'm not sure how much more I'll be able to get done if any today.

Every time I glance over at Lilly she is like hey look at me.... So after gloria's chopped up I'll unscrew the scrog, raise the lights and slide her over to the chopping block :slide:

I swear it feels like I'll be trimming for weeks, but almost having Gloria down has me seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Idk how arctic does it with that damn forest he has....

I got a Valentine's day card today from the Stank's. What a lovely sentiment. Thanks!!! ... I'll check in over in growing a legend here later tonight.

Hope you all are doing well this splendid Saturday and as always may your plants prosper and buds swell

You jar the whole cola? Is that for show, or do you trim off what you need now and then, instead of piling the buds on each other in the jar? Is there an advantage to jarring the uncut cola?

Providing the lid remains on, RH in the jar will remain high enough for a cure to take place, as long as the jar is NOT opened every day and was still very slightly moist , it should be great!

Don't waste your B62s until your ready for the cure. Get a hygrometer in there so you know what's going on.
Let's be clear about one thing first.... those are arctics B62s .. There's one in there. 50% last I checked

EDIT 58% currently

What is considered high enough for the cure? Aren't we usually aiming for 62%? If he's already at 62% in those jars that's fast...4 days into a sealed jar with no hygrometer doesn't seem ideal to me.

Damn that dried out fast. Put an orange wedge in there and see if you can get that RH up. Bovedas will take a while to get the RH up 12%, if they can even move it that far. Leave the hygrometer in the jar.
Already almost 60

Evenin Shed,..OK,..after the buds /colas are in the jars, i only leave the lids on for one day. Then i feel them, see if they feel more moist than when they went in the jar. This is a good thing. It means there is still some moisture left in the plant matter. I then keep the lids on for a few more days,..then i check them again. Once i feel they are no longer getting moist, but feel like they are getting dryer. Put the lid back on tight and leave them closed. If too much moisture leaves them , a 'cure' will NOT take place. hope this has helped. Cheers eh!

Evenin Duggs! You probably have a bit more experience than MadDabs or I and can tell how moist your buds are by feel. The rest of us (SweetSue included) measure the jar with a meter. As far as I know, the cure takes place once the jar has stabilized at ~62%. Bovedas keep it there.

I've posted it before and my jarring is similar to yours after the first week, but the meter tells me the story.

[edit: a lot of the drying/burping stage is ambient-RH dependent.]

Looking great Dabs!!!
If ya need a temp/humid gauge for a jar or 2 I have a couple your welcome to use for a bit.....will need them come jar time for the jungle though. Also small fridge at the shop your welcome to use that as well.

Unless you got the “feel” like Duggs, best to keep a close eye on things, don’t want to F it up at this point brother because humidity went too low or too high, not that you are or that you will just a good insurance policy for your hard work. I have to use the meters, I don’t have enough experience growing to know by feeling it if it’s good to go or not.......yet!!

Keep on chopping Dabs, one good all nighter and you’ll be golden  I’m gonna need several all nighters

Blessed Buds our friend and be well :passitleft:

That ain't the Boveda, that's the inner moisture from the bud. That's what burping is for. To get the moisture in the bud to stabilize. The Boveda is for maintenance. And that's why it's helpful to have a meter in every jar.
There is only one jar ...

So I want the humidity to go over 62? And bring it back down. As opposed to just letting the boveda regulate and hold the at 60%?

The Boveda can hold it at 62% once the entire bud is close. There is moisture inside the bud that moves to the outside as the outside dries, in search of equilibrium with the ambient RH in the jar. Burping and sealing the jar is usually what gets it close to that point depending on the ambient RH in the bathroom. If it's lower than 62%, then when you open the jar moisture leaves and the RH in the jar goes down. When you close the jar, the moisture inside the bud moves toward the outside. Eventually you want the bud all the same RH, 62%. Also, slowing down this process is beneficial as it gets rid of the chlorophyll in the bud. If you got your bud to 62% in 20 minutes and sealed it up for the cure it would not be as good 3 weeks later as one dried more slowly.
