TheBlaze: Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1

Looking good Blaze

Thanks Penny! Hoping they put more energy into flower now. We need some swell in those puny little buds. LOL!

Hey Blaze
I'm 2 weeks after 12/12 flip with my first indoor grow (and stupidly went straight into a perpetual 2 tent thing instead of baby steps) and was wondering about defol at this point - so thanks very much for the pointers! Your plants look super healthy and pretty. Respect from Australia!

Thanks Anna, and good to have you here. I like your dad's quote.

If you have any questions just shout.

Hey Blaze
Thanks for your offer to help - I need all the advice I can get! And it's kind of you to mention my Dad's quote. He was a super successful, sweet guy & died from Parkinson's last month.
I'm enjoying your journal btw. Thanks again.

I'm sorry to hear of your father passing Anna. It sounds like you guys were close.

Thanks Blaze, that's sweet of you.
Now, can I ask you a question please? I've got a bottle of Canna Pk 13-14, which I ordered before I'd decided on using Coco. I've used some the last couple of days in my feeds but suddenly wondered if it's suitable for Coco? I read last night about AN BigBud for Coco and the marketing blurb reckons Coco requires a specific chelated iron with the P K. So I ordered some (I always feel like a sucker buying AN - which is stupid expensive in Australia!) but do you reckon I should continue using the Canna whilst waiting for the AN (probably more than a week)?
Thanks again.

I'm not familiar with Canna products as we have a very limited range of nutrients here in SA. I just read up on the product, and they claim it can be used in any medium so that would definitely include coco. In fact, I would hazard a guess and say it would work best in coco. It is just a bloom booster though, so I assume you are using it on your flowering ladies? I wouldn't have bothered with the AN product and just continued using Canna PK. Sorry, not that much help I'm afraid. For what it's worth, I've never used a bloom booster of any kind.

TBH most nutrients will work in any medium, ive been told many times the GH nutes i use are not for soil, they work fine for me, I'm not growing organic so what does it matter? i use mine in soil, clay and coco ;) i also think both canna and especially AN are way overpriced for what they are, as long as you are mixing right, checking strength and checking PH, any nutrient line will work great :thumb: btw, AN's PH perfect is a load of crap if you mix it up to a strength that wont kill your plant, one recommendation is to mix at half strength and always check the PH ;)

Looking great in here Blaze. I like 10 gallons per plant. 7 is just fine too but I think 10 doesn't cost me much more and gives me a little extra time between waterings and just generally makes things easier.

I like to trim dry because of the terps. And I find it easier. Plus I can cure the buds at the same time while I work through the stack lmao.

I have been drying to stem snap point and then cutting the branches into easy 8" pieces then putting them in some 6.5gallon buckets with gamma seal lids. The gamma seal lids are about 8 bucks and fit over a 3,5,or 6.5gallon bucket. They seal water tight. And air tight. Survivalists use them for food and supply storage, even burying them in the ground for the long term.

For untrimmed I can fit about 10oz in a bucket. All trimmed up you could fit several lbs easy. I use turkey bags to keep the strains separate and to keep the insides clean! You could leave these untrimmed branches for weeks (or even months).

Thanks for your help Blaze, PW & Feral!! TBH; I hate AN's hard-sell marketing. I've been suspecting it's bull-toss recently. And I've just realised (thanks to you guys largely) that awesome plants can be grown (and are) without a heap of 'additives'!
And Feral - I stopped using the AN pH Perfect as soon as I got my GT Coco Bloom (Australian made and a fraction of the cost).
Thanks again guys.

Not sure how much help I was there Anna, but it's a pleasure.

Shiggs, when you get a chance please jump on to my organic journal. Link is in my sig. Would be nice to have a few more organic growers in there. Thanks man.

UPDATE

Day 26 of 12/12

The purple envy's and blue dreams smell identical. Tropical fruit that is a few days away from being rotten. I love it. I know this smell. Frostiest plants in the tent are probably the 2 purple envy's. I'm glad I popped another 3. They look promising.

Anyway, on to the pics.

Spotlight on the big blue dream tonight.
