For the past week, I've been preparing to take clones from Goldie. I've sprayed her twice with Safers all over using my @VIVOSUN compression sprayer, the last time on Sunday. The wand made it easy to get inside the plant, especially the undersides of the middle. I sprayed her until she was soaked and dripping.
She's hasn't been fed since May 31 (day 56) so she has to be getting hungry. I'd prefer clones be a little hungry. Unfortunately, it looks like she's trying to start flower. While she's not in flower yet it looks like she is in transition. I forgot to take pictures of her yesterday, so here she is today on the back deck after all clones were taken.

Sunday I also set up the cloner. I cleaned everything really well, even running it in warm water for an hour or so. Then I rinsed and filled it with a Clonex solution(5ml/L + 1ml pHd + 10ml Hydroguard = 440ppm/5.7pH). I left it bubbling for 24 hours.
Monday, I took some clones. Goldie was pretty dry, almost to the point of wilting. I cut the clones from the bottom of the plant, taking the greener-looking stems and not the woodier ones. I immediately put them in a glass of water as I cut them. Then, for each clone:
- I took it out of the glass of water and coated the cut in Clonex gel.
- I removed any lower growth
- I clipped all existing leaves
- I used a sprayer to clean/rinse each clone thoroughly. I started with the undersides of the leaves, then sprayed the tops of the leaves. I did this over the sink, then lightly spun them to remove any excess water.
- I put a collar on them and put them in the cloner.
I ended up taking 16 clones, enough to fill the cloner without them touching too much. I left the dome off until the clones were mostly dry. The cloner is set up next to the AeroGarden. The AeroGarden is set for 16 hrs/day overnight, and they'll get some spill-over daylight during the day. Hopefully this will keep them from going into full flower.
I'll keep the dome on the first week or two, removing it for an hour daily to allow everything to dry out. Hopefully by the end of the second week I have four rooted clones ready to go into the RDWC.
