The VipersNest Continuous

The Lemon Haze looks :yummy:. This is a thread. You guys and your ebb and flow buckets. Trees with yield, great show, that's all I can say! Stay Safe!:peace:

Hey Pit - I have been following your grow for awhile now and picked up a ton of great information about how to do this right. I have a question for you about pruning. It seems there are mixed feelings about pruning and what is your take on when and how much to prune?

First Grow - Trainwreck

Ive been growing a lil over a year non stop now. over a 100 plants. I have found that the loose light airy popcorn growth is just a waste of time. I copied Greenhouse's technique of cutting off all the useless stuff. It promotes great airflow and puts the energy into the rest of the plant. I keep 10-12" clear of any growth depending on the strain. I usually wait until the 3rd or 4th week of veg before doing it. I dont like cutting fan leaves at all. I cant say that my technique works for everyone but it works for me. Ill give them another week or 2 to recover from any stress but you will find that they just rocket in growth when doing this. Then I goto bloom and leave them alone. As Racefan so eloquently stated "Id rather tuck than cut to allow more light to the bud sites"..He is a person that you should follow. He got us started by answering our very 1st post a year ago. He is the man

Ahoyhoy Viper, just caught up on the journal. leak detection... very cool. plants and clones are lookin great. very tight nodes and chunky stems

I'm just starting to follow this journal... LOTS of pages, but I like what I've seen so far!

I had an ezclone and just hated the idea that there wasnt a dome for it, just makes no sense to me. I have a power cloner now and noticed that the excessive droop you get right after cutting clones is kept to a minimum with the dome on. This makes sense because obviously it slows the evaporation of water from the leaves. After about 2 years of using the power cloner, I now mist regularly and use a humidity dome and very rarely get much droop, and in return get roots about 36 hours faster too. Nowadays I dont use either, just because they take electricity and Im in no real hurry to grow roots in 5-6days, nowadays I just start in straight up rockwool cubes and it takes two weeks but thats fine with me because they go threw a whole lot less stress than when they do coming from a cloner to rockwool or hydroton or whatever. The one problem with the pwir cloners is they leak slowly sometimes (and sometrimes not that slowly). So anyhow all of this rambling was coming to this, if you can find a humididome to cover your ezcloner you can get rid of some droop and speed up the rooting process. It wont grow roots in 3 days but you may gain 12-36 hours and if time is in short supply than that can be time better spent in the growroom! As always looking incredible PIT. Im finally part of the lightrail club, lol. Do you use a lightrail or the hydrofarm version with a chaindrive system?

Ive cloned and cloned and cloned. I just dont want to play the dome game anymore. Most of what you percieve as "droop" is really just bent twisted lower branches, I use those when Im cleaning up the bottom of the plants. Yes there is some initial wilt but they come back in 24 hrs. With the EZ cloner I can just walk away and they are done in a week or so. Its just a personal choice. They do not like misting in my experience so I just cut dip and drop. It works. like they say....there are infinite ways to cook an egg.

I have the original 3.5 Lightrail. the chain system is a great choice but these fit our needs.

thanx guys...Im gonna get the new Canon. Ive read the reviews but I knew that somone on this forum knows what their doing....the pics are amazing and I would love to show them in their full glory.

Don't know if you got a camera or not already...just came across this. I am a proffessional tattoo artist and photogrophy is a big part of my job. I would strongly recommend the digital Canon Rebel and a macro lens. Oh...and great grow!!

thanx for the input bro. That was a lil while back and I setteled on the Nikon D40X. It came with 2 lenses as a package on sale at Target for 500.00 tax included and a 16 gig card. Im getting a macro for the holidays and thats when Ill be needing it for those killer trich shots. Im still learning the features on this cameral, its my 1st DSLR and I love it. It was a toss up with the Canon but I couldnt let the Nikon deal go. The guy had one left and said it was a display unit and would give 20% off of EVERYTHING. When I go there it turned out to be never even opened. I gave the youngster a 20 for him being so cool.

Siiiiick growth...+reps

I concur on the cloning. Bubble cloner, no dome, minimal wilt.

Actually, any wilting is typically from taking the cutting improperly and letting a lil' too much air get in the stem. Dip quick, drop 'em in, roots in 5-15 days depending on the strain and health of the plant prior to cutting.

If you remember Andy.....you turned me onto that Nikon...THANX again!

Just finished going through your journal. Very nice! The Nikon is a very nice camera as well. I have a friend who has it. I think the two are about equivelent in features and quality...the canon is usually a bit cheaper though. Sounds like you found a great deal on that Nikon. Hard to find one for 500. Think I'll hang around and follow this journal. Very nice set-up.
