The VipersNest Continuous

Doc....no cooling on the lights room is self contained.no incomming or out going air.100% closed system.my temps run in the low 80's for the CO2.humidity is about 70% in veg and 55% in bloom.I am below ground, it helps alot, summers are hell but winters rule.

PitViper, question bud, We are going to try a bucket ebb-n-flo grow soon. I was wondering, because the system I setup sprays nutes on the root system, then drains back to a pickup reservoir, which in turn pumps the nutrients back to the main res, how often should I set the timer for delivering nutes? I was thinking once an hour for 15 mins. Does that sound like it is to often?

sounds like aeroponic more than ebb/flow.. Do you have a link to this setup you can direct me too so I dont ask too many redundant questions? Thanks!

McBudz, the design isn't store bought, well, not yet anyhow. It is a design I came up with, and we are going to run a few trial grows through it first. A friend is going to sell them out of his hydro shop here locally to begin with. It can be setup up as an ebb-n-flow, DWC/bubbler, or Aeroponic system. Simply adjust the float and timer. But up until now, I have been doing soil, so I am not sure what would be a good setting to begin with. The nutrients will be sprayed on the root system from a circular tube and then return back to the reservoir. By adjusting the float switch in the return reservoir, I can adjust the depth of water in each grow bucket according to preference. I will start out using 4 main reservoirs (20 gal total) and one return reservoir and set up for ebb-n-flow type operation.

Ebb n Flow has no sprayers. It waters plants like the tide waters coastal marshlands. A slowly rising water table floods the media from the bottom. Once the water level gets to a predefined point, the system should drain back through the same tubing that flooded it in the first place.

Munki, yes, and I can set the system up to do the same. With a 6 bucket reservoir, I can detach the ring, adjust the float to it's upper possition, and flood the buckets to a specific height, then pump the nutes back to the reservoirs. However, this run I wish to spray nutrients on the roots to test the hydro-ring. Just wondering what would be a good schedule for delivering nutrients in this fashion.

trying to improve the Ebb n Grow is like re-enginerring the wheel, It works plain and sinple. can it be improved on? sure.but the gains arent worth it, If I had 20 ft cielings Id jig up 20 gallon pots and a 500 gal rez Ill live with wht I got

Need a bit more info then. Are the roots free hanging so they can be sprayed or set in media like Hydroton with the ring set into the media? The latter would be more of a drip system.

In any case, you question about frequency of nutrient delivery may be best answered by visiting the following page.
