The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

yay!! Top notch homegrown dank. Good morning Sue :hug::hug:

Morning Noob. :hug::hug::hug:

Yeah, smells like sweet berries, possibly my favorite cannabis smell of all. :slide:

Watch this though...... My friend came through for me. I won't be without any longer. Making brownies just as soon as I catch a magnificent buzz.

I know..... Unbelievable that people can be so generous to me. I'm a bit stunned at this one. He has my undying gratitude. Just in the nick of time. My defenses were breaking down.

If you gentlemen will excuse me, SweetSue needs to get wasted. :ciao:

I forgot I had these already loaded in, so let's do this now. :battingeyelashes:

Daily Update: Day 59 & 61

Not much else going on today other than the harvest. I do need to document that I gave the autos their tortuous essential oil spray late last evening. I'm getting used to the smell. :laughtwo: I've a feeling this will be more beneficial with a photo. There's just not enough time with an auto to make that much difference.

The photo tent. Critical Mass is still holding on to her moisture in a way I find kinda awe-inspiring, to be honest.

image10089.jpeg

image10090.jpeg

The Critical Mass has finally begun to alternate the nodes. Time to flip, so as soon as I can get her drenched properly I'll do that. She still needs the next TransWater before we get to that critical Energy that precedes the flip, so she's obviously going to be staying in this tent for a while. I can't hold the Critical Cure back much longer and her next drench will be that Energy, so we're within ten days from her flip.

The Auto tent.

image10092.jpeg

The Med GOM 1.0 isn't getting any taller. She's just paying more attention to this GOD panel than she did for the Mars-Hydro panel. :laughtwo: Her big fans are going necrotic at a pretty rapid rate. She's close to her own harvest.

image10093.jpeg

The Auto Jack Herer is bulking, but little scent and still no signs of any trichomes to speak of.

image10094.jpeg

image10095.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto (Day 59) Look at this baby go! :slide: This is my best attempt at this strain yet. Kushtie has me wishing I could duplicate his results, but I know that's not going to happen, at least not this time. Build this soil up a bit more and play around with some additives and foliars and you never know. Maybe one of these harvests will surprise me. :battingeyelashes:

That's all she wrote for now. Thanks for stopping by. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Now, it's definately time for lunch. Catch you all later. :ciao:

She'sbeautiful Sue :)

She'sbeautiful Sue :)

Thank you mouser. I've abused her leaves, I'm afraid, but it's oil I'm growing for, although this one has a shared destiny since she's my all-time favorite. The leaf abuse is hopefully creating monster trichomes overflowing with resin. Irrepressible optimism is a fun way to live. :laughtwo:

Wow! This Tikal is amazing. Duggan, you'll be pleased to know that, entirely due to your influence and the respect I have for the soil these plants were grown in (I happen to know my friend grows in Doc's soil) I used the vaporizer for my first buzz. See what a positive influence you are? :circle-of-love:

What a beautiful sight!

Time to start the brownie-making process.

BROWNIES: Step 1 - Decarb the bud

Weigh out eight grams. Good grief, look at how beautiful these buds are!

image36767.jpg

Gently break the buds apart into the baking dish. No need to get crazy with it. It's much easier to break up when it's done decarbing. Seal the dish up tight in the oven roasting bag and toss into the oven - 225 degrees F - for 30 minutes.

image36768.jpg

It just came out of the oven. I'll give it 15 min to cool a bit and then into the freezer for an hour to help the vapors settle. Those vapors are valuable terpenes and flavinoids that I want in my meds. I'm not sure how many are lost in the brownie-baking portion of this adventure, but I'll keep this step in. It hurts nothing to make the effort.

Ahhhh....... I'll have brownies in the morning. :slide: I have my mango and my apigenin all ready to go. A little priming of the receptors and some competitive inhibition to get more cannabinoids into the system.

Couldn't get out without a sniff. :laughtwo:

image10136.jpeg

This is me telling you that all that joy you have bubbling around will expand if you share it. :battingeyelashes:

You tell me life isn't sweet. :laughtwo:

So happy for you Sue. Your silent benefactor deserves a few :hug::hug:

Thank you Noob. He's quite a man, and thankfully, quite a cultivator too. What a bonus that we grow in the same soil, so I'm assured of the quality of the meds.

What a wonder. This caught me by surprise and I'm a bit ...... Yeah. :circle-of-love:

That Dark Devil is amazing you should be proud what dispensary did it come from I can't find it in seedsupreme

Thank you ohioboy and welcome to the :420: community as well as my little journal. I'm allowing myself to feel very proud of her. :blunt: That gets easier and easier as she bulks up. The closet's wide open and I get the smell of her, though it's subdued, or at least I hope. You grow accustomed to the smell after a time and don't notice it when others will, but I believe the scallions growing with her are, indeed, containing her terpene expressions.

Suddenly I'm curious about what effect, if any, that would have on the medicinal values. :hmmmm: Thought for another time.

Where was I? Oh yes, the seeds. I work through Herbie's for these seeds. The breeder is Sweet Seeds.

Oh, I didn't see you there Shiggity. Thanks for helping out. That's right, Gorilla Seeds carries them too. I was tempted to get more with the prize package, but I got distracted by others. :laughtwo:

You'll enjoy Carnival. So easy to grow and such a wonderfully zippy buzz.

BROWNIES: Step 2 - Prepare the oil

It's been an hour in the freezer. Time to crumble it up.

image10125.jpeg

I prefer to do this by hand. It's tedious, I suppose, but it also gives me ample opportunity to infuse it with healing intention. Of course, I'm an aging hippie, remember? :laughtwo:

image10147.jpeg

Toss the plant material into a pie pan and add 1/3 cup of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. Yes, it's a strange choice for brownies, but these are medicine as much as food and the olive oil is a long-chained fatty acid that will be absorbed into the lymphatic system. That skips the first pass through the liver and gets more cannabinoids into play, able to help my body reach homeostasis. The intense chocolate of the brownie mix and the caramel drizzle mask these odd flavors completely for me. I've actually grown fond of it. It's the taste of healing in my mind.

To assist that process along I added about a half tablespoon of liquid sunflower lecithin. Lecithin speeds up the absorbtion process, among other beneficial things it has to offer. That's just the benefit I'm most interested in here.

image10148.jpeg

Thoroughly stirred, it goes back into the oven bag and back into the 225 degree F oven for an hour.

image10149.jpeg

After it cools a bit it goes into the refrigerator overnight. In the morning I simply prepare brownies according to the box instructions, using the oil mix as the oil addition. I'll also throw in a splash of hemp seed oil, just to give it an extra bit of healthy moisture to make up for all the plant material in the olive oil, and bake. :slide:

Life is sweet guys. :yahoo:

Thanks eh!.....now i'm off to the fridge for an ice cream bar.....where are all the donuts. Ah....this time of day...ya ...you know !
hey Sue...you ever use Coconut oil....it's a mct.:surf:

:laughtwo: If I were baking these simply for recreation coconut oil would be my favored choice. It's a more pleasing taste. I'm more interested in the medicinal value. It'll get me high anyway, but MCFAs go directly to the liver and those enzymes are aggressive buggers. You lose about 80% of the cannabinoid showing that route.

With an LCFA, the lecithin and some competitive inhibition I can expect to hit around 90% bioavailability. Next time I may try sweet almond oil. Mmmm..... Good idea Susan.

Oh Susan...btw , Marilyn was over last night and after reading it myself she sat down and read for about half, hour....Cajoncelt, (spelling). Was very informative and gave Marilyn a better idea of what it's all about ...me too! He is very knowledgable in that area for sure. I can't spell , worth a shit!!:tokin: Sorry eh! Anyhow , it was important that she realize there's more to it than just puffing some MJ once a day or eating a muffin...ya know. I learned so much just from that 1/2 hr. read ...it was scary. Cheers Sue.

Sue have you ever done side by side comparison with your brownies made with coconut oil and made with the olive oil/Lecithin? That would be an interesting experiment. It would be hard to get a base line unless you were using bud with the exact same amount of thc/cbd. But I would be interested to see the results.

BB......  That was so sweet! :laughtwo: I'll be singing that all evening. I grabbed the link before it gets pulled and I'm dropping it on my Spot thread so I can enjoy it again later.

Love you BB. :kisstwo:
