The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Oh thank goodness. You didn't see my posts before I edited them. :yahoo:

You know how I roll. KISS.

 You have this way. Perfect timing. :kisstwo:

Yes indeed, you can use fresh aloe. Just dilute it in water and mix it into your bucket or watering can, or whatever you're using.

Hahaha! We all pretty much share that addiction with you doc. We understand the joy. :laughtwo:

Thankyou sue I have a few cuts aswell to use the aloe on, on me that is, got me thinking though.

When/if a branch snaps I duct tape it back on and 9 times out of ten the plant acts as if nothing happened and heals itself beneath the duct tape, I wonder how using aloe directly from the plant onto the broken stem/branch prior to bandaging in duct tape would be of any benefit in recovery at the site of the injury?

Also how about an aloe foliar, how about fresh aloe mixed through the soil, it's experiment time! Thankyou sue

On the malted barely I will add that one could, if they chose, steep some grain in the right temp water (140F-170F) and convert some starch to sugar chains and sweeten up a soil a little. Natural soils do have sugars in various forms, and various concentrations.

I'm not sure if sugar consuming soil enzymes are like brewing enzymes in that some only break long sugar chains, while others 'eat' the chains from the end. It matters in brewing, not sure about soil. I could easily theorize that making more long chains could make for a longer lasting sugar source. If I only knew how they consumed it.

I wouldn't steep all of it, maybe 25%. And not on every drench. You don't want to replace the root exudates that soil life surrounding the roots love, just a little more once in a while to stir them up! Sorta like molasses, without the potassium, sulfur and other micros.

Nice posts Bob and SweetSue.

Clackamas Coot once made the statement that if he had to choose between comfrey and aloe for his plants he'd go with aloe. That stuck with me. I add aloe once a week to my soil. I've never used it as a foliar. Aloe is difficult to locate in the SW corner of PA. When I was in Phoenix over the holidays I was stunned to see the stands of aloe growing as decorative embellishment along the roadways. Everytime I went walking I was tempted to dig up some pups and smuggle them back, but that's so grossly illegal I couldn't take the chance. I'll stick with the powdered form.

Nice posts Bob and SweetSue.

Why thanks Heirloom. I might never have thought of that. I know nothing about brewing. I'll incorporate that in.

On my way to the virtual coffee and bud shop I snuck past my closet, drawn by a faint voice.

Welcome our latest arrival, Dark Devil Auto.

image7210.jpeg

Whew!!! This one is a must. So is the Carnival I'm waiting on. The Auto Tut seed needs extra time since it got jostled out of place when planting, but I may start something overnight just in case. Or I could just wait it out and only grow one plant in the closet if that one doesn't show.

If seeds weren't so darned expensive...... I'll have to grow some of my donated collection next. I think seed expense is one of the worst stressors of growing, and we all know they don't need to be that expensive to collect. That's why so many of us are so committed to teaching others how to make your own seeds and cloning that phenotype. And thank you all so much for sharing that expertise. Makes my job of learning that much easier.

Breakfast calls. :ciao:

I'm feeling pretty good right about now with 6 of the original 8 up. The last two didn't feel right going in, so if they come up they're bonus. I've already planted a backup Carnival - that shows you how much I want to be growing that strain, doesn't it? PeeJay has me thinking about the value of growing one or two strains at a time. I stand and look at this line up and know beyond any shadow of a doubt that he's absolutely right.

I have three, potentially four growing spaces (I know, can you believe how the universe keeps insisting on upgrading my flight? :laughtwo: ) so could I interpret that to mean one strain per space? I might be able to work with that. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

So many strains, so little time.

Heya sue,, wow, a quick wander by your journal and i shoulda kept my eyes closed as I passed,, dont peek, dont peek,,

oops, I peeked

Always do, of course,, yer last post got me livid,, livid I say,, say again,, livid,, i am not really livid,, just love that word,,

Seeds, oh boy,, a hackle raiser for sure,, the cost of em,, wow,, capitalist greed at its absolute worst,, aargh,, why must we be taken so advantage of?? Why??

Just cuz,,

Me and dutty and dutty too have been busy trying to mitigate or even nullify the expensive seed situation by interbreeding,, ha,, i know what yer thinking,, ha,, silly,, no,, not us,, we are not interbreeding,, we are making seeds,, ha

P1160570.JPG

I was down to my very last seed, and cloning has been spotty,, hard to run a tight perpetual ship when the supply chain has broken links,, so,, my sleepless nights be done,, no more, gone,, nada

Cheers to you sue,, and to interbreeding,, ha:Namaste:

Thank you so much nivek.

And we have lift off...SEEDLINGS!!!

Hahaha! My feeling exactly. I was standing here looking at my projected timelines and checking out my stash, realizing there's no way I'm going to make this stash last all the way through to my next harvest. Surely there's a way to get ahead of the game? I know, I hear you, grow bigger plants, and run perpetual. :laughtwo:
If you need a quick fix Sue, throw a couple of photo seeds under 12/12. That will leave you about a month & 1/2 away.

I cut a bud yesterday and just now tried it. Two hits on a bong and my attitude improved. Two more and my headache is gone. I like it. It is a nice upbeat clean high. It is not nearly as frosty as yours though.
An attitude adjuster and a pain reliever all rolled up in one. Good stuff Canyon.

It's like a steady stream of Christmas around here. :laughtwo:

This was the box from the boss. :laughtwo:

image7233.jpeg

Lots of fun stuff, including a pen I need to learn to make some concentrates for. Look at these neat little bud jars I got.

image7234.jpeg

Of course, the all-important shirt. :woohoo:

image7232.jpeg

The smaller package was just what I'd been waiting for.

I'm going to play with an alternative method of preparing the brownies today and boost bioavailability.

I'd just started into Callanetics when this arrived. I may need to put them off until later and get these brownies done. Nope! I'll think about the brownies while I pulse. I've put this off too many days in a row. Stand firm woman!!!!

I'll let you know how the brownies turn out.
