The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

About something else: my family is pretty ignorrant and I don't really like my family not that that's something important but anyway, my family knows about me growing, but almost everyone is against it because it's unhealthy and it's drugs. According to them. So I said, it's a medicine! It's a medicine for anxiety, parkinson, chronic pain and a lot more. Then they laughed and they said: "That's not true, that's probably some big lies and stuff" So the thing that pissed me off is that they don't like something and everything is wrong about it (although they don't have proof) because they don't like it. So I said; please go somewhere else being ignorant. Don't ask or tell me about anything you don't know about because it's just wrong!

So with this said, luckily I have you guys that I consider a family that atleast does listen and stand behind what I do and learn me more about it. So thank you for that guys! I love you!

I'm lucky my family is fully onboard with my treatment, even my doctor cousins, and everyone at work on up to the senior vp. They all know what my odds were without it. I'm sure they were skeptical when i started, but no questioning it now.
I've only confronted a few nay sayers since my last scan was negative. Being able to say "and it worked" makes all the difference. There's usually a "no way" and then a "but how" and then silence. Some listen, some just aren't ready to believe they've been duped (a lot of that going on over here lately).
So feel free to use my picture and tell people it saved this guy's life, plus it cured my big ears. Seriously, thanks for spreading the message. Even on deaf ears it builds up change.
:Namaste:

I think its fair to say the prohibition program comes with lots of misinformation about the perils of cannabis.

I shared what I knew about medical cannabis use with my family back in August. Took a few conversations.

They are much more comfortable now at 4 months into my healing program.

Hope it works out for you.

It is up to the grower to quarantine clones coming into the grow space.....that is exactly how I got infested 2 years ago....I wanted to increase my strain offerings and I traded some of my clones for some of another grower's plants....a dangerous practice that I will never ever again do....either purchase or be gifted seeds, or clone your own, period....buyer beware and it happens so quickly and the infestation is so dangerous that I will never ever want that to happen again....

My wholesaler is a dirty grower that depends on others for clones and he gets mites constantly...he makes shatter hash out of the mite infested rubbish and puts it into cookies....now these patients have no frigging idea what they are ingesting....forgive my indignation but I think it is abominable.....if I ever go into his grow, I come home and disrobe in my garage and go directly to the washing machine with my clothing...he doesn't even know enough to disinfect his pots and equipment....there are a lot of dirty growers out there....more than you think or can even imagine....

This is the main reason behind having govt approved and inspected Licensed Producers here.

Well I do have a book about healing hemp. Maybe if they read something from that book it will convince them

Hi Sue! Hope you don't mind me lurking here and making notes about do's and don'ts for my grow! ;)

That mite experience of Shawnee's sounds absolutely horrible. I will be careful with my garden. I suppose that these little devils are just as easy to import from outside (a vegetable garden)?

And IT IS MEDICINE! Even though I started smoking almost 40 years ago for fun, its more for mood and pain regulation now (for me anyway). Been promoting its benefits with family and friends for decades. Glad to see that its finally going mainstream. One son is using it for pain control after a motor vehicle accident (works better than the narcotics with NO side affects) and a daughter-in-law is starting to use it to deal with the migraines she's suffered with for years. The damn drugs they were feeding her have started to compromise her kidneys and liver. The mmj is working better than the (experimental) neurological drugs they were feeding her already after only three weeks!

I don't think very highly of the medical profession. Not to say that there aren't good doctors - there are. I just keep remembering that these same whitecoats were prescribing arsenic, lead, heroin/cocaine and numerous other things less than a century ago. Its a learning science. And mankind has been using herbs and plants (those same things we evolved beside) for thousands of years. Maybe the experts could look at these things too? Oh wait - no money to be made in something anyone can simply grow……..

Yeah, no money to be made by the pharmaceutical companies - unless they control cultivation. Something we would be well-advised to keep in mind.

Doctors are schooled and trained in a system that negated herbal wisdom in exchange for some crazy idea that we weren't evolved to heal. It's mostly lack of education. You think they'd know, but so many of them get their information from JAMA, and that publication is controlled by the pharma companies.

It may be up to us to educate the more forward-thinking new generation of medical professionals. As long as we're having fun with it. :cheesygrinsmiley: I refuse to take something that brings me as much joy as cannabis and let myself feel frustrated about someone else's choice to be blinded from obvious truth. I'm not here to save anyone. I'm here to have fun learning and sharing what I learn.

What I'm learning isn't good news for big pharma.

My daughter stopped having migraines the day we started her on a regimine of four capsules a day made with a balanced strain of CBD:THC in olive oil with lecithin. That woman had migraines weekly for most of her adult life. At 34 she suddenly learned what life was like without them. Give a look at the ratio of what the daughter-in-law is using. It doesn't take much THC, but it does take something close to an even ratio, if not slightly more CBD.

Tell her for me the switch to cannabis was a really smart one. :high-five: My daughter refused the prescribed drugs, choosing OTC meds. That's all behind her now. She realized the other day that her bottle of Excedrin Xtra Strength hadn't been opened in over six months. :yahoo:

The nice thing about using cannabis for pain management is you're healing the body at the same time. If he's got broken bones, might I suggest comfrey poultices? They call it Knitbone for a reason. It's great for broken ribs. Overnight pain relief. No kidding.

There's this bright future I see before us, where cannabis is a front line healing modality, instead of a last choice. It sounds like your family is on the cutting edge oldnoob.

Share with them anything by Ethan Russo. Anything by Dr. Sulak, who's easily accessible on line.

Or don't share anything with them at all. How many of them are aware they have endocannabinoid systems, and the implications of that? Most people I speak to are first off, blown away to learn they have this important system they had no idea they had, and then intrigued to learn about cannabinoids. Once you can get them to the idea of back-up troops most soften the stance. Then you leave the seed you planted and wait for them to come back to you before you speak of it again.

The frustration is an indicator that you're erroneously judging someone or something here. You can back away until it doesn't frustrate you. We get so excited about cannabis that we want to shout it from the rooftops. Try just being so happy and healthy because of your affiliation with cannabis and the community you found here that they come to you to find out why the hell you look so good and are always so damn happy. Then you share. Until then you learn more and more and grow better plants all the time.

We're here to have fun. Frustration isn't much fun, is it? Luckily, the choice to feel otherwise is all yours. :slide:

What worked for me was a slowly paced information feed to them to let them get comfortable with the game plan. IN my case the fam knows all about my symptoms, understand that traditional treatments have not worked, and bought in to the notion of a trial period just to see if there was relief to be had. I suppose they were concerned it could go bad if I turned into some zombie stoner.

So after the now 4 months experiment, where there have been improvements, and no passed out couch locked grandpa they are comfortable with the ongoing situation.

My approach was to get their agreement that healing and symptom reduction was something they agreed with, and that I was down to this last option. There was reluctant agreement that I needed to try this.

I bet your family is troubled this could mess you up and they don't want that to happen to you.

Sue I have a fam member with migraine issues. Could you please let me know some more details on your daughters dosage?

How many mg of thc:cbd per dose, and what strain(s) were used to make it?

About gluten free ..... Ive played at it but never with 100% no gluten for an extended period. I think I need to do that so thanks for the suggestion - a good motivator.

Thanks Sue and Oldbear. I'm just not going to show them anything I'm lucky that it's legal to grow out here because if it wasn't then I wouldn't even told them anything because I simply don't trust them anyway. I'm just going to do what I got to do and I don't really care about what they think or not. Because they won't even try to back up my choice but that's fine!

Good luck with this. Its tough when your need for healing causes issues with the family. Lots of support here as you say.

I do grow Cannabis but I don't use it myself. I don't use cannabis as a medicine or recreational. It's for me fun to grow and I want to raise awareness for Cannabis. So I'm already really happy that I can grow Cannabis without needing it as a medication.

I start with a balanced strain - for her I used the CBD Critical Cure from Barney's and the CBD Critical Mass from CBD Crew. Both are interchangeable in her protocol. I make an infused olive oil, at 500 ml oil to either 100 grams dry or 400 grams fresh harvested and quickly decarbed in the oven. I used the fresh harvest method with her first batch, and that's what we're using now. It hadn't occurred to me until right now that this is something I might want to consider with her.

They're finding that THCa might be as potent a medicine as THC. My daughter can't tolerate the euphoric effects of THC. I'll have to look into this further.

I used 00 capsules and she takes four a day. We started her on three a day, split equally across the hours, and then added the fourth one about three weeks in. It was the fourth one that almost completely cut the anxiety.

Let me say a quick Thank you  to everyone. I'm treating a friend out to breakfast to celebrate. She'll be here in a minute. :ciao:
