The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Sue, what is the story with the bags over the cups? It looks like you're trying to mimic what Toast does with his clones or something. I only ask because I did something similar with seeds and close proximity cfl lights once. The plastic caused a greenhouse effect and it fried the seedlings and killed them dead as soon as they poked their heads up. Judging by the amount of condensation going on the temperatures under the plastic are obviously quite high.

You know what PeeJay? I believe you're right. I'd been thinking about it in the back of my mind, the proximity to the light being my foremost consideration. Geez PeeJay, you make it a habit of saving me from myself, don't you? I sure am glad you keep peeking over my shoulder.
:bravo:

Congrats on the MOTY win Sue.

I thought fifty pages before she returned would happen. Now it looks like fifty plus before anything breaks above ground.

Has anyone grown S.A.G.E. n Sour?
It is a new strain for me.It is 74 days in flower and still sending out new white hairs along with bud growth. The buds are good size but are not getting dense. Most of the buds are still soft and spongy with the top bud doing a little better. If the buds were filled in, it would be impressive. It is positioned between two 1000W HPS lights and fed well, though I have just about stopped the feeding. There are no fan leaves left, just buds and a few dying small ones in the buds. Trics appear cloudy early as they develop, but none are amber yet.

I will try to move it to where I can get some pictures tonight.

TIA
Best

Smelled like toasted hazelnuts. No nug density issues with this pheno. The effect is a little too jittery for me but others really like it.

I could probably learn something from your more relaxed approach to all of this...

I frantically tore apart my closet yesterday with a plan of adding 160 watts of T5 bulbage. Managed to build a new light rack, hang the new lights and seal off my closet, all while causing major trauma to one of my plant's branches, shattering 2 CFL bulbs and straining my back... There goes 6 hours of my time...

I apologize for the derail. I'm new here.

Nice beans! Here's hoping they sprout quick and grow big and strong.

And a right decent derail it was nugwrasslin. :laughtwo: Yeah, I've been trying to beat myself up about not being more driven and focused, but that doesn't seem to be working. I figure when things need done I'll get them done or suffer the consequences. Right now I think I'm up against the intimidation factor of the contest win, the readjustment to a new schedule after being almost completely taken care of for seven weeks and just wanting to stay buzzed after being without for so long.

I know me though, and this will pass, releasing that whirlwind I tend to become once things start rolling. Today I'm making the attempt to get my kitchen back in order and make a list of all amendments I add to my no-tills, when I schedule them and why I use them. If I still feel like working l'll list everything I planted with pertinent points and where I plan to locate them all.

48 pages in, and not a single leaf above ground yet, not sure there's a rail to be derailed from! :)

It's planning guys. Planning. :laughtwo:

I don't know, 48.. now 49 pages of buildup i'd be worried about interrupting this train of thought SweetSue has going.

Haha

She must be building up to something HUGE.

We can only hope. LOL!

That's because everyone wants to hang with SWEETSUE the MOTY!!!! And to think, I knew her when she was just SweetSue!!! :circle-of-love::peace:

I got a front row seat on this ride! I know right? How cool am I!?!?11

:)

You guys *giggle* :circle-of-love:

:bravo:

Congrats on the MOTY win Sue.

I thought you'd already done this Reg, but thank you, kind sir. :kisstwo: It kinda threw me off my game a step. Now I have lights to study. That reminds me, I need to get in touch with Graytail. I keep forgetting to do that.

Thank you for bringing this up because it gave me a chance to do this:

Thank you PeeJay for that timely response. A beautiful, marionette grow of distinction. It sounds like my kind of zippy high, too.

I got a little distracted by deliveries today.

The little one turned out to be food items from my prize package. Foods Alive is promoting the nutritional values of hemp seeds, among other items. I've got some seeds, oil, butter and flax crackers along with a bit of Himalayan pink salt and some hemp protein powder. Lots to explore there.

image7107.jpeg

Soil-building supplies. I'm fairly certain I'll need to mix up more LOS. Pumice is notably difficult to locate so the rice hulls will be a good compliment to the perlite I'll be needing to use this time. The bag of earthworm castings reminds me that I need more kit supplies, including another bag of EWC. Good thing I haven't placed that order yet. And fish frets. Finally!!!

Enough loafing around. Back to the dishes. I'll reward myself with a buzz. ;)

So much cool stuff Sue!!! I'm so stoked for you. Take your time and your own pace. If it isn't fun it isn't good! So make sure to have fun and everything will be great!
On a side note my 5 DD seeds have been shipped so I will be joining you all on the community thread and this is the first auto ever in Shiggy's grow. I don't think I will ever give up my photos, especially my twister, but it's nice to fool around a little on the side!

Ooooo...... I'm excited Shiggity. It'll be fun to see what you do with the Dark Devil Autos. There's just something enticing about them. I'm about to treat myself to a nice buzz with one of my three choices. I think I'll try out #2, the one that grew in the back of the tent all alone and benefited from neglect. PeeJay has me thinking about the value of only peeking in acne a day and letting them be.

It's so good you got your twister back. Life is sweet, eh? Thanks for the encouragement. My life seems to want to set its own schedule and since I don't have to answer to anybody other than myself, that means I need to be my own motivation. Dangerous grounds for a lonely Sagittarian. Mostly we need someone to shower affection on. It's kind of our way to recharge. I'm still struggling with that. Vacation didn't cure that empty space.

I think I'm just in a stage of introspection. Getting my bearings again. Let me get to my lists.

It would seem to me that mixing your own soil is as time consuming as growing the plants themselves! I'm not sure i'm capable of more than pipetting synthetic nutes out of a bottle and growing laboratory weed...

Mixing soil does sound so romantic though.

Mixing soil does sound so romantic though.

Aside from the sheer joy of being up to your elbows or armpits in all that luscious soil, there's the promise that a well-planned soil mix will give you the freedom to grow without concern about deficiencies. I only have to mix soil once for each of the no-tills. From then on out its just maintenance, and that's as easy as a few well-timed drenches and fresh topdressing. Foliars, if you're so inclined, but not necessary by any means.

There's quite a bit in organic gardening that could be thought of as romantic, but we're fairly lazy romantics as a whole. We prefer to raise soil that grows plants for us. I'm looking for trichome-encrusted plants myself. :laughtwo: I'm hoping my soil shares that vision with me. Worms will help out tremendously, so the sooner spring settles in and I can get some ordered the better.

A lot of these girls THRIVE on major trauma to one of their branches. If there is still a connection between branch and plant, you may splint, tape or staple the branch in place and it will keep on growing - call it authoritarian supercropping.

Shattered CFLs don't heal

That is a nice plant. Do you know how long you flowered it?

It was under the sun and wasn't subjected to a sudden light schedule shift, Canyon. To the best of my recollection it started showing flower 11-12 weeks before harvest. You should be close. Started flowering the last week of July/ first week of August in the Northern part of our state and was harvested the 2nd week of October. It wasn't a fast 8 weeker but was much quicker than the ACE panama that wasn't harvested until the second week of November.

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!. :tommy:

We had a mass awakening overnight.

Only three more to go. I found the Auto Tut seed near the surface today so I reburied it. I've had miracles happen before. The other two are Carnival and Dark Devil Auto. Both strains I'm growing for myself. :laughtwo:

Time to unpack some tents and figure out how to filtrate.

I hope your day is off to its own joyful start. Time for this girl to get some breakfast and get to the store so I can attend to other gardening concerns. So get out there people, and spread that joy.

Ahhhh....... I can breathe again. Growing, something I can control and plan. Something to shower with love and affection. There.... I felt that shift. A joyful little dance in the Universe. I'm growing again. :slide: :circle-of-love:
