The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Susan...look at her...oh wait ,..that's what your doin.....here woman, have some "Lilly"...:passitleft:
She is coming along nicely. A tip ...get inside and clean her up some...deep inside. Enough off the bottom , but inside the middle ...get rid of all the lil crap, small lil baby branches and any small under developed leaves....out with them! Remember to follow a plan with the Kit directions too. Cheers and keep up the great work Susan. :Namaste:

Thanks Duggan. I'll get in there today. She's starting to pick up her perfume. :slide:

Wow some lovely pictures Sue, plant looks really good, I think she's sure gonna be a tasty one ;) !

Why thank you TerpKing, and :welcome: to my joyful journal. I saw your footprints yesterday and wondered when you'd step out of the edge of the forest. That Carnival is my second-favorite strain. To follow a rolling harvest of Dark Devil Autos with a rolling harvest of Carnivals is like a dream come true. In fact, now that I think of it, it was one of those goals I set back after Dale died. Oh wow! I made that one come into manifestation and didn't even realize I'd done it. :laughtwo:

Oh yeah, I've come through ok. :slide:

Hey there SS - try an Alfalfa meal tea... some N will help and kick up the buds and green it up FTW!

Oh and nice buds there budd-lette! Me likey some purps.. got my mouth a waterin. :high-five:

I have jars of DDA BB. Jars of it, in three different flavors. Hahaha! You, more than anyone else on this site, possibly next to Rifleman, can appreciate that statement. There are many among us now who can appreciate the joy. I'm getting ready to pull some out in a minute and I need to make a pan of DDA brownies tomorrow. Today I'm making a batch to share with the landlord, using up all the rest of the street crap. It served its function and although it was shit to smoke it makes very respectable brownies.

Tell me life isn't sweet. :laughtwo:

:adore: jungle so lovely looking, start screaming and maybe tarzan will come to rescue :;):

So that's what it's gonna take? :laughtwo:

Find a way to get the RH up Sue, at least to 50%. The firls will love you for it.
How much, when you use brix, are you actually applying, to the plant. A plant that size should take about 1/4 of an ounce of the mixture. Remember, its just "a light misting, not a rainstorm" :)

Thanks Cannatard. Let me think....... raising the humidity.......I'll start with this

IMG_158327.JPG

I'll check in a bit to see if that's working. Maybe add one that holds more moisture, but this may do it. The fan is blowing directly on it from the other side of the tent.

When I do foliars with her I use 120 ml of water and 4 ml of drench. Of course, next time I'll back off on the Brix to half strength. I use a fine mister, aiming for the underpart of the leaves and she's taking almost every drop. My technique is very much "light misting." Graytail trained me well to go lightly with the foliars. Doc taught me to be precise in the measurements.

Kinda a shame i like cloning my plants to keep em going. Thanks for the reply though. :tokin:

There's more than one cultivator on this site that took DDA and made their own seeds. Just reminding you of the possibility that you'd never need to purchase another DDA seed if you work it right.

So I put together my order for my favorite soil building site, including the vermicompost I need to make more LOS and the geo pots I want for the auto tent. With a couple other things the order hit $78. Not unexpected, but then I calculated shipping. $79. Yep. Those castings are heavy shit. I cancelled the order and at once started thinking that it might be time to make the switch in the auto tent from LOs to kit soil. Fanleaf is running autos in kit soil, and Graytail just pointed him out to me, so I may hold off and give this more thought while I watch Fanleaf. I can get the pots - not geo pots, but a reasonable compromise - and all the other stuff, including the heavy WiggleWorm EWC from the rainforest with a Prime account, so no shipping charge. I was planning to make the switch after the next cycle anyway.

Looks like I've made that decision. The only pot that'll be LOS will be the tiny closet. Once the Train Wreck is finished I'll replace that pot as well with kit soil. At that point both tents will be under Doc's system. Slowly but surely I'm getting there guys.

That's was exactly my thinking on all of our strains. Will never have to buy them again...plus with all of the breeding, I think we will be set. :laughtwo:

I was considering running autos in the kit also. I think that'll be the case in the new year. :thumb:

No problem Sue! Thank you for the welcome :)! Haha, I was tip toeing around the edge of the forest trying to catch up on as much as possible, so many pages to look through!! Sound like a pretty nice dream come true :)!

Yes it is TerpKing, a dream I didn't know I had just a mere two and a half years ago. It's a sweet life, if you can get it. I have a hard-working guardian angel whom I listen to, in my own way, and it's all culminated in this joy you see before you. :laughtwo:

Good, after vacation, I assume? We can discuss strategies. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Daily Update: Wednesday, November16, 2016

Maybe I can train myself to do a modified update during the week and an in-depth one on Thursdays. I think I'll try that for a couple weeks and see how it goes. It depends on my ability to reign in the camera. :laughtwo: Let's take a stroll and see, very briefly, how everyone's doing.

A quick peek into the flowering tent. It's Day 113 for Carnival #2, so I kicked the lights back to 11/13. They'll stay there until the harvest. She's still not dry enough for the next drench. It's been eight days since her last, which concerns me a bit, but she still continues to pump out the pistils.

The clones are getting ready start blooming. They're both at Day 40, 8 days into their flip.

No need for anything other than trying to get the humidity up.

Best I was able to do with a towel was 35%. Tomorrow I'll try evaporating shallow dishes of water.

IMG_158725.JPG

The auto tent. All quiet in here too.

Train Wreck Auto (Day 26) Flowering has commenced.

Carn1:4 (Day 34) Starting to look happier.

IMG_159532.JPG

The clones. Carn1:3, on the far right, front, and Carn1:6, center front, both got watered throughly with plain water. Carn1:6 had comfrey soak added to the water. Tomorrow I'll start with some LST. I haven't decided exactly what I want to do with these, other than get Carn1:3 into more soil. I'm watching new growth to determine whether I'm going to stick with the LOS or clone them and get them into kit soil. I'm more inclined to clone, so I may hold off on LST and clone this weekend. I'm thinking keep the strongest of the LOS going just to practice with. There's a lot of good cloning potentials staring at me.

Still no movement from the dropped DDA. Poor thing. I'll start another tomorrow if she doesn't break through overnight.

That's the brood. Thank you so much for stopping. I need to get righteously buzzed and decide just exactly what I need for the garden because I need to buy walking shoes too, and they should probably take top priority. Four miles plus a day does wear them down faster than not walking at all. We all know if the choice comes down to shoes or supplies, supplies will win out. These shoes will go another month. :laughtwo: Times like this I miss that extra pension. Lol!

I'll be seeing you around the yards, if I don't fall asleep first. I have another cup of coffee waiting for me (:hmmmm: coffee after 9 PM - that sounds like a plan for sleep, doesn't it Susan?) so I'll likely be up later than normal. Until then......

:Namaste:

Sue, take a look at Propet Lifewalker shoes. They gave me good wear and support. :)

Thank you Rifleman. I did go looking and was impressed. I do so much walking I need to find a more economical brand. This paying $140 for a pair of shoes is rediculous to me. I walk enough that I'll burn through two pair a year. I'll have to delve deeper.

You appealed to the thrifty Scot in me. :laughtwo:

I went digging and found the severed root of the dropped DDA. *sigh* Thankfully it wasn't my only seed. :laughtwo: I started another, but this time I tried something I'd been considering for quite a while.

Tell me this isn't a gorgeous seed. :battingeyelashes: Why don't they look like this when you order from the seed banks?

Nice germinating in aloe interesting. Can't wait to see if I have a new germination method haha .

"carpe diem"

I have these aloe plants that I've never transplanted into their pots (I finally ordered the soil yesterday - thank goodness, it's been months girl!) so I was watching YouTube videos on aloe and discovered it's effective as a seed starter. I already know it's probably the easiest thing to use for cloning and I'd already taken to using the gel to soak the rapid rooters when I plant seeds or start cuttings.

It's the one indispensable amendment in my toolbox, the only thing I always add to the water used for drenching, without fail. It makes the water easier to absorb.

Somewhere out there is a video I came across a couple years ago on quickly forcing pups from a mother plant. I haven't found it yet, which means I need to take a walk through my first journal and find it. *groan*. If I'm going to go through that trouble I might as well index the journal while I'm at it. There goes the next two weeks. :laughtwo: I think I remember how he did it. I'm just looking for video confirmation.

Yesterday I baked the brownies for the landlords :laughtwo: -that was an interesting conversation:

"What do we owe you?"

"What do you mean. You owe me nothing."

"Just give me a ball park figure."

"There's no park involved. I'm not selling them to you."

"I've never purchased anything like this before, so I have no point of reference."

"Well you're not buying them now either. I'm giving them to you."

Good grief, what a crazy reality. :laughtwo:

Then I started the oil for my own batch, made with the DDA4.

IMG_158422.JPG

Look at the difference in quality from mostly street meds (remember, he referred to the dry shit as "really great stuff'") on the bottom and the fresh DDA4 on top. Legalize already and get this trash off the streets. We all deserve better than that, don't you agree?

The sweet reward. Breakfast of champions. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_161225.JPG

It's been half an hour since touchdown. :laughtwo: Oh yeah. That's the ticket. :slide:

This is why I grow. Lol!

The fog has finally begun to burn off. Some oatmeal and a walk along the river is called for. Woman cannot live on brownie alone, though today would be a nice time to try. :laughtwo:

I am in the same quandary. shipping is almost as much as the cart it self. Ah well. I understand.
I have a headache now. :surrender:

I have a good sized patch of aloes planted in my yard.
Will start using it liberally when watering and cloning. A little goes a long way though. Love your thread btw love your experimenting nature. Keep growing those beautiful plants . Have a few plants myself coming along . 2 autos 1mephisto skywalker and 1 dinafem cheese autoflowering. 3 blue mystic from nirvana feminized. And about 10 bagseed from the same bag. Waiting to see the males to cull them when they show. ohhh almost forgot 2 jamaican regular bagseed as well lol. Don't have a thread here as yet though leaving that for when I am ready for an exclusively indoor grow. Wow I am rambling on lol

I forgot we have an exterminator paying a visit today. It's fall and mice become opportunistic. Apparently some have found our building a dry and happy place. No signs in my apartment. They've shown themselves on the other side of the building. There are few connections between the two sides, but there are some. I'm prepared to pull the timers and hide the cords in a matter of seconds. The landlord knows of the tiny closet. No need to hide that.

While I wait I took the time to process the roots from the last three harvests. The first, DDA2, was in the hempy pot. The other two were in LOS pots. Both of these roots had few tiny hairs attached when I wiggled them out of the soil, but in both cases I found tiny roots throughout both pots when I broke them up for recycling. The root ball for DDA3 is still in the no-till with Train Wreck. This is the last run for that soil.

IMG_160517.JPG

DDA2: hempy, seriously mismanaged by a noobie, under the damaged Advanced DS and then under the MarsHydro 300W panels, harvested at day 67. Surprisingly fragrant, tasty and potent. Defied everything I'd been told about growing with bottled nutrients. Equal to anything grown in my soils.

IMG_160629.JPG

Early Miss: LOS, under the damaged Advanced that was replaced by the MarsHydro 300W panels, harvested on day 47 (yes, that's early), 17 grams jarred. Delicious, fragrant, and potent. Makes great brownies.

IMG_160728.JPG

She had a radiant root display. :laughtwo:

IMG_160829.JPG

DDA4: LOS, in the tiny closet under the Timber Vero240, harvested at day 80. Oh that I had grown this one in fresh soil. Maybe the one coming up behind will surpass expectations.

IMG_160926.JPG

Look at that tap root! That explains the tiny roots. I love this light. I love this light. A new pot of soil and a new DDA sits under this light waiting for the seedling to get big enough I'm confident it'll have the right nodes I'm looking for. Then it gets its day under this wonderful Timber Vero panel.

IMG_161024.JPG

IMG_161128.JPG

Not sure yet what I plan to do with them, but they're all ready when I make up my mind.

When I purchased this package of party cups I remember thinking I'd run out in a couple years. :laughtwo: So naive. They've been used all over the place, and with the clone cuttings I started cutting them down into small cups.

IMG_161323.JPG

I'm putting them to use in the flowering tent. It's time for Carnival #2 to get the next drench, but we have that exterminator coming....... It's 2:30 now and there's no word of his presence. He'll only be in and out to place traps. The lights go out an hour earlier now, so my window of opportunity shrinks the longer he dawdles.

IMG_161435.JPG

*groan*

IMG_161530.JPG

Hopefully, multiple small dishes of water will help raise the humidity. I've nothing to lose and I'm in a holding pattern until this man is here and gone anyway. Might as well experiment.
